View 3 RepliesWhenever I connect any one of three Lacie drives they instantly affect the speed of my 15inch MacBook Pro, especially when using Final Cut Pro. None of the drives are close to full & I'm connecting them with a FW 800, but other links working well too.

View 5 Replies View Relatedis there a way to export a movie from imovie to a watchable format without actually opening imovie. My computer is severely breaking down, and i cant open half of my apps.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a 38 minute iMovie 09 video that I exported to iDVD. It stutters about a minute in to the movie. I have done the following:
1. exported a shorter version (1:48) into iDVD. The same thing happened.
2. exported this shorter version into quick time. Worked just fine. Don't know how to make a DVD that I can watch on a player from this though.
3. tried to export this shorter version to youtube. It said that "youtube reported an error"
I need to throw a iMovie I made to my friends HD from my computer, but I only have it saved as a iMovie Project and he wouldn't be able to watch it. How do I export it as a .mpeg or .avi? It's not under file in iMovie either. I only have the choice to import and no export.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am soon going to be buying a Sony HDR-XR520V and I already have iLife 09 installed on my Mac Pro. I will also be buying Roxio Toast 10 Pro and a Bluray Drive to be able to watch my videos on my HD television. Now I need to know if I can export to Toast 10 in 1920 by 1080 Interlaced or not? I'm sure its possible but when I look at the Share option for iMovie 09 the largest resolution is 960 by 540 which is half of what I want. Any ideas on how to do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhat is the best export method (file type and settings) for exporting HD video to be converted using Handbrake? I use handbrake to convert my HD video to be played on my iPad. And I want to edit the video first in iMovie, then export the movie to handbrake to be converted to play on my iPad.
My biggest concern is exporting from iMovie, I want the best possibly quality.
First, I finally understand "how" iMovie wants to work with audio ducting apposed to iMovie HD. But when a clip, a still to be precise, has no audio option so I can continue to duct it. How do I control the audio? I have read Ken Stone's biography on the program but I don't see the answer. Last, anyone else have uploading issues lately? I have uploaded a file to YouTube twice but YouTube gets nothing. Started out of the blue.
View 3 Replies View Relatedsay you got some mpegs you wanna edit in iMovie, you can't because imovie wont let you now with this program im about to tell you about (free) you can export those mpegs into dv! its great and works 100% it encodes the audio as well as the video too.
View 7 Replies View RelatedYou see, while working in iMovie I accidentally exported a movie when I wasn't finished with it, and I wasn't able to cancel the action. And now, since I'm not done with the project yet, I was wondering - can I, and if so, how, can I import it back into iMovie? I am operating in iMovie '09 I am not new to Macs - just the '09 applications.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI edited a screen recording video (shot with QuickTime) with iMovie. Added chapters but when EXPORT - USE QUICKTIME and set properites to HD format, once done (5 hours) chapters are not available in Quicktime. I read that when exporting to tiny video format, chapters are not available but here I' exportin to an HD format.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am editing my video clips and I want to be able to speed up some of the parts. But I don't see a way to do it. Do you have any idea how I can speed up the clips?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using the new iMovie 08 and I love it...
However I'm missing the capability to alter a video clip's speed (slow-motion/high speed).
It can't be done via iMovie, can it?
Do you have any suggestions for the easiest way to do it on a Mac and integrate it with iMovie afterwards?
Okay, so I'm using iMovie and I want to make my video which is 30 or so minutes about 5 minutes, and I guess that would mean I'd need to speed up the way it plays but I have no idea how to do that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently use iMovie 7.1.4 on my Mac OS X 10.5.6.
I was using iMovie to make a video, but I couldn't find how to control the time in which transitions pass by. It looks like 0.4 seconds is the default time for each one, but how do you change it to... say, 2 seconds? And yes, the video before and after the 0.4 transition is not longer than it.
So I'm basically asking: How do you control the speed of a transition in iMovie 7.1.4?
I have just one frame in Imovie 9 that I want to slow mo. It shows in the Apple online video tutorial that you can simply double click on the frame and then adjust the speed. One problem:
IT DOESNT WORK!
Ive doubled, tripled, quadrupled, right click, option, drop down menu, ect. the frame with no success.
Does anyone know how to get the video speed adjuster on imovie 9?
I have a Sony HDR-HC&. When I download the movie to IMovie speed of horses looks normal (as in the same as real life) I then edit the imported video and export the final version. When I play that video the horses look like they have been speeded up. I need to be able to have them moving at the same speed as when the movie was recorded. Anyone know what is happening and how I prevent the tempo from increasing by exporting the movie so other people can see it? This does not happen if I export to full version however that version is useless for sending to other people and will not even fit on a DVD to send in the mail.

View 1 Replies View Relatedincreasing the amount of RAM in a MacBook Pro (latest model unibody 15" i7 processor). If I increase the amount of RAM in this laptop from 4Gb to16 Gb, should that in and of itself result in a decrease in battery performance? This is assuming no increase in number of active programs, etc. A friend of mine was told by an Apple employee that just increasing the total RAM in a laptop would result in the battery draining more quickly. I am no computer genius, but that does not sound right to me? After all, why should the battery work harder if the excess RAM is not being used at the time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have been asked to recommend a MBPro for a friend that edits HD 1080i video but does not want the hassel of a tower/iMac.
CPU power is one thing on a MBPro when it comes to rendering is not that great from what i see on mine but I have a 2.4Corei5 April2010 15"
Anyone using a Corei7 to render in imovie or FCP that can tell us if its worth it vs a tower or iMac?
A month ago, I started to get kicked off my wireless network seemingly random. I have eight devices on the network, but only my MacBook Pro was affected. I use an Airport Extreme base station - the UFO-looking one from about 2006. This wasn't regular "can't find the network", greyed-out Airport icon kicked off - the icon became an outline and no matter what I tried, only a restart would get me back on (often to be kicked off again within minutes). Again, I have six devices on the network - my wife is in the same room, feet away, and her 2003 iBook stays on the network with no troubles. A week after I started having this problem, I noticed my battery was no longer holding a charge. I just bought a new one. My question: I didn't initially think there might be a connection between the two issues - dying battery and Airport connectivity - but now that I've had the new battery working for a day, I haven't been kicked off the network. Could the bad battery have caused the Airport to totally disconnect?

So I am about 1 month away from buying a new MBP, and I was wondering what affect VMware fusion has on battery life.
I was also wondering if you could use all the multi-touch features of the touchpad while using a windows program.
In particular, I will be needing Microsoft Onenote.
Quick summary of questions:
1. How does running VMware fusion affect battery life.
