I created a shared photostream at one time named Family...it was shared by me. It still shows in iCloud on both my mac and my iOS devices. I have tried to delete it via the photos app in iOS and via iPhoto on my mac....it deletes and then reappears in a few moments. It is an empty stream that I created to test but I cannot get rid of it...
View 10 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to NOT see a computer in the Shared sidepane under "All". Long story short, we used to live together, now we don't. But I still see her computer on my "network." A picture is worth a thousand words. Any way to not see this when that computer is online?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am trying to find out how to change the way finder presents itself while it is looking at a shared computer, because it appears to be doing this incorrectly, or is messed up some how. If you look at the screen shot of the highlighted drives of this shared computer, you will notice there are multiple instances of drive J and I would like to remove the repeated link. Also some of the drives have names associated with them, while others do not. I cannot figure out why some take the name given to the drive under windows in the macs finder window and why some do not? To throw another odd question in, drive G is not labeled movies anywhere, but rather is a drive labeled TV Shows under windows. Rebooting does nothing, as this has been there for months, even after a restore.

Right now I am on the MacBook Pro, my iMac is on in another room, and all other devices are off. Usually under shared from this computer I just see my iMac in finder because I allow sharing between the 2 computers... but I noticed something odd that I've never seen before. Something else is showing up under "Shared". It looks like another computer and says "mac001b639f####" I didnt fill in the last 4 characters just in case this ends up being some sort of personal info that I shouldnt be sharing.
My new MacBook pro came in the mail yesterday, so today I decided to import music from my parents MacBook to mine, I turned on home, both computers are authorized, we are both using the same account, both firewalls are off, but I can't connect to the MacBook. I have the search for shared libraries on and theirs is too we're on the same network and all that, but their library won't appear! Anyone know what to do? I have read everything on apple and they haven't helped a little.

In Mac OSX Finder in the Shared Section, I'd like to change one of the computer Icons.
Example:
As you can see, I'd like to change the PC's BSOD Icon to something like this.
I have my iTunes library stored on a NAS, UNRAID, and I currently do not have my files copied into the iTunes library. They reside on the UNRAID in a movies and movies folder, so the iTunes library itself is fairly small.
However, this is what I would like to do. Since I have several AppleTV and several other Macs running. I'd like to keep one Mac on 24/7 and have iTunes open all the time pointed to my NAS iTunes.
My wife and I have both just got iPhones. I have created a user account for her on my intel iMac and want to use the iphones on the one computer.
I need to share the iTunes library (and iphoto eventually) so I dont have to double-up everything.
I have tried dragging the Itunes Music into the shared folder... and creating aliases as described in various places on the web and in magazines, but this simply does not work. No tracks appear in my wife's itunes. There is not even 'shared library' icon on the left hand side.
I've stored my iTunes library on "/Volumes/Storage/Music" from my old mac. How do I open the same library with iTunes on another mac?Â
Do I simply point the media folder to /Volumes/Storage/Music or this is not possible?
I tried to remove a user group from my desktop following the procedures given. I could remove all but one user.
This is the one I want to remove. How can I do this? I have 4 user groups. Why?, when ever I had trouble and called AppleCare they had me install a new user group, which I never removed.

My mac storage shows that I have 7.55 GB of movies on my computer, but I cannot find these movies anywhere. When I search ".mov" on my computer, it shows that there are movies and it looks like they are in iPhoto. When I open the iPhoto application, though, I do not see the movie files in there. So, I'm confused as to where exactly the files are and how to delete them off my computer to free up the 7.55 GB of space. How I can find and delete these files?

I figured no biggie, when I got away from the head office they'd go away. But they didn't. And I can't figure out how to get rid of them.See attached photo.

If not how could I totally remove office from his computer and install it again with a new serial number.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI am playing around with HD video and have a very large Quicktime File (12.5GB) that froze my computer while rendering. I need to delete it. (CRASH: screen freezes and dark line slowly comes from top to bottom and once entire screen is slightly darker, a post in the middle pops up and tells me to turn off computer by holding power button).Â
After a lot of trial and error, it seems the problem is that the computer can't handle the massive deletion. Unlike a lot of other similar issues on this forum, this is a single file and not hundreds, so i can't delete portions at a time and be done with it. I have run through all my ideas and need help on how to delete this file from my computer and have come up with two possible ways:Â
1 - Split this video into smaller files. I dont know how to do this: I have SPLIT-CONCAT but that duplicates (then splits) and does not actually split the original. I tried "replacing" the video with the same-named smaller file and it crashed the computer.Â
2 - Change preferences on this computer somehow to allow this massive deletion. I tried a force empty through terminal and it did the same crash. I dont know if there is a preference (disk manager) or otherwise to get rid of this file. Â

My computer says that the storage disk is almost full, and when I looked at my storage information it says I have too many movies. So I went back into iTunes and I try to delete my movies (which are all under iCloud) and they aren't removed from my computer nor does space clear on my computer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have on tow differnt Mac' both running 10.8.6 and Office 2011.I get a message and I delete it from the inbox (POP accounts with my ISP, on my own domain), and next from the deleted items folder. so far so good, message (should be) gone forever. Now if I do a search (via the Mac find function) for the message it shows up as being in:/Users/e/ Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2011 Identities/Name of User/Data Records/Messages/ 0T/0B/0M/13K/x00_13558.olk14Message. The last item being the message.I can open it by double clicking and there it is in its full glory. If I do a search within Outlook it shows up but has no folder located to it, so I suppose it 'finds' it in the same folder where the Mac finds it.Using the find inside Outlook I can find them, delete them again and find them again, etc. Now, not only does this bloat the storage space needed (account now bloated to 1.5 Megabite), but it is also unpleasant (security) to know that they are still there. After all why otherwise delete anything?is this normal, and the second question is, how to set Outlook up that it removes these messages permanently? I had a thread about this in the MS Outlook forum but had no luck there. url...it be interesting to hear if any of you can recreate the problem, to exclude it being a unique problem on both my machines.

How do I delete text. Let's say I wrote the wrong word, as you know a Windows keyboard has "Delete" and "Backspace" keys, but a MacBook keyboard only has a "Delete" key which acts like the "Backspace" key. So in order for me to delete on work I have to go behind the text and use it like backspace.. how do I just delete the word from the front?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI never use "User Accounts" on my MacBook. So I don't know much about them.
If I delete one User Account, will it delete that user's libraries, such as their music, movies, documents, etc?
Also, will it delete the programs that were installed under that user's account, but are accessible by all users?
