Sep 29, 2009So last year i purchased a new mac book, with my laptop I received a Canon iP4500 printer. I have had no need for it until now. I start the software installation, when its complete it asks to align the printer heads, this is where the problem arises. My printer is on, but since the printer doesn't connect via USB. The printer setup program searches via bluetooth, but every time the printer never shows up. Am I doing something wrong with the computer or the printer.

First , Downloaded drivers from the Canon website with their support phone person helping set it up. Printer worked wirelessly with the MAC for 2 days. Then gone. Printer no longer on printer list and won't print either by USB or wirelessly. Called Canon support.
He guided me thru reinstalling in different ways, repaired permissions, set up additional acct name, but still the printer in not listed on Printer Browser screen when wireless used (it is listed when USB connected, but cannot print)and not listed at all on Print & Fax screen. My MAC doesn't recognize the printer now. What happened?
Here today , gone tomorrow. And nothing was downloaded , updated, or anything added or done to the computer from one day to the next. It is a huge mystery.
Did a disk utility 1st aid days before...nothing needed repair...Did the 1st aid, due to slowness starting, downloading from cameras very slow, and message "start up disk is almost full", which it is NOT ...46GB available.

Aug 30, 2008I've got several Apple computers in a network. I'm using a Canon multifunctional PM600R for printing. It's connected on a iMac DV with a USB-cable. I'm using a Vigor wireless router. It was alle working perfectly. With my Powerbook I could use the printer wireless. Recently I bought a MacBook with Leopard. Up until today I can't print wireless. When I connect the Canon printer directly (USB), it will print. But that's it. I've downloaded the most recent software from the Canon website. Unfortunately, it won't work. In printer configuration I just can't select the printer because it doesn't show up in the window of the Canon IJ network tool.

I've got a MacBook guide with the laptop and I know that my MacBook Pro has a FireWire 800 port but I don't know if FireWire 800 would fit my Canon VVixia HF S10 camcorder's port. I don't know what port does my camcorder even have so that I know which FireWire cable to buy. So can you help me with this? Would the FireWire 800 fit for the Canon Vixia HF S10 or what do I have to do? I know the camcorder came with a USB cable but I don't really want to use that one, since FireWire it's much easier to use with Final Cut Pro7 than USB cable with all the save in Document first then open in FCP7. With FireWire it's easier to log and capture the video.

However, it is missing some parts such as a battery and firewire.Before I buy these things, I want to know if I will even be able to transfer videos from the camera to my computer, and if I will be able to edit them on iMovie, and generally how compatable the two are.I also want to know which firewire I can buy that will work to transfer videos from the camera to my computer. I have been looking on Amazon for the cable I think is appropriate (IEEE 1394) but the cable which have good reviews and seem to work are 4 pin/6 pin and I don't think those would fit in this computer; the ones with USB endings don't seem to work for most people.

Dec 27, 2007I have a blackbook (intel core 2 duo) and I can connect to my landlord's wireless network (they have a netgear wgt624) but I can't actually use the web (Safari or Firefox will just "think"). I've tested the diagnostics and it confirms that my mac can connect to the network, but it cannot connect to the internet. The network uses WPA personal and it has a 19-aphanumeric passphrase.
*Also - would it be possible for me to extend the wireless range (and make it possible to browse the web) if I used my own 2wire wireless modem to connect to the netgear wgt624?

Jun 2, 2012I have a Canon Vixia HG20 and had no trouble copying video to my Mac laptop in the past. Now I have a MacBook Pro and when I connect the camera with a USB cable, the videos are grayed out and the computer doesn't recognize them. The videos play fine on the camera itself. Also, the still photos show up on the computer and transfer easily. I've seen older posts & sites (2008, 2009) that are related to this issue, but I'm not sure they apply anymore.
