I want to connect my MBP Mid 2011 to my HDMI TV. My MBP only has the Thunderbolt Port and I am struggling to understand what type of connection cable I require.[URL]
Info:
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2), 500GB HDD 4GB RAM 2.4Ghz
I have a 2011 macbook pro with a thunderbolt/hdmi adapter connected to a receiver, so I can watch movies on my tv. Video files with 5.1 dolby have always played fine through this exact setup, however, recently, only 2 channel audio goes through. I know that the adapter is good, and it isn't the receiver because I have tried other devices on the same ports. So it must be something on the macbook end.8 channel, 192 kz is selected under hdmi in midi options, and hdmi is always selected as output in the movie player I use. There is no reason it should still only be 2 channel on my receiver.
PS. I am on 10.7.4 using a mono-price thunderbolt/hdmi adapter and an Onkyo HT-R590 receiver.
So i have a 13" late 2011 MPB with lion 10.7.4. I have been using a mini display port to dvi adapter connected to a dvi to hdmi cable into my tv. It worked fine for the first few months i connected, but out of nowhere, now absolutely nothing happens when i connect the adapter to my MBP. i have tried using all the different hdmi ports on the tv and am at a loss.
MacBook Pro 15" Late 2011 (Mavericks 10.9.4); 4 GB ram. I am running HDMI to a new video projector. The HDMI signal is lost periodically for about 1-2 seconds and then comes back. It occurs about every 5-7 minutes (about 20 times during a 50 minute lecture). It loses both video and audio. Screen goes black but no displayed messages. I have read a variety of other posts with similar symptoms with various computers (e.g. Mac mini) and even with DVI cable use. In my case, I've used two different HDMI adaptors so it's not the adaptor. I'm pretty sure it's not the HDMI cable itself. (A fellow professor does not have the issue with his PC and he uses the same equipment.) Neither the computer nor the cable is touched. (I have another colleague who reports the same symptoms in his music lab.) Bottom line is that it's a distraction to my students and it's occurring off different Macs in different locations. This means to me that it may be something with the particular generation of Macs we're using.
I have a MacBook Pro and a HDMI cable which once did work, but no longer. Did software change, did my luck run out? What can I do to make HDMI cable work again?
I am trying to connect my Mac Book Pro to HD tv with a HDMI cable. I bought the cable at the apple store. When I plug it in and I turn tv to HDMI, the screen on my laptop turns blue for a few seconds and then returns to home screen. How do I get my computer to show up on my tv?

So i have a MBP late 2009 edition and I bought the mini display port with hdmi to connect my mbp to my hdtv, everything works cept there is no audio. I even checked the system pref and everything.
I feel like I've read every thread on every forum, and they all cover the same issues. I've spent FAR too many hours trying to hook this up and I'm asking for your help. I have the mini dvi to hdmi adapter, with the hdmi going into the tv. I only have one hdmi input on my TV so I know it's turned to the right input. I've tried mirroring, I've tried switching hdmi cables, and even bought another adapter. I had the picture up yesterday just clicking on settings but it was when the screen wasn't mirrored, and it was treating it as another display. Now I can't even get that to work. I've tried every resolution. I plug it in, and detect the monitor, and it brings up two windows. One is "color lcd" and the other is "TSB-H66S".
Have just bought a Macbook to HDTV HDMI connector cable from the Apple store in MK - plugged in to Macbook & connected other end to TV & get great playback picture but no sound!
I have the cords connected but when i go into settings I see no option for video output i have selected "show mirroring options in the menu bar when available" but i see nothing at all...
I am using a rocketfish thunderbolt to HDMI dongle, HDMI cable to the TV. The TV seems to recognize that something is connected, but the message on the screen still says no signal. I've tried the various HDMI inputs as well as the HDMI/DVI input. I use the same HDMI cable to connect to the iPad to the tv without problems.
My Macbook shows "Samsung" under displays, so the machine is connecting to the tv. Could this be a firmware issue on my TV? The TV is approx 3 years old. This is part of the reason I bought this machine
I am trying to play a DVD on my MacBook using the TV as a monitor. The TV doesn't have a VGA port and my MacBook only has USB, FireWire and Mini-DVI. The TV only has HDMI, S-video, RCA.

i have an iMac and am trying to connect it to my HDMI tv so i can watch films through my tv. iv read about all the mini DVI things but my Imac does not have a mini DVI port as it is relitavley new, it only has 1 ethernet, 2 thunderbolt, 1 firewire and a few USB's. I have a thunderbolt to hdmi adapter which i can plug a HDMI cable in and hook it up to my TV, how do i get the display to come up onto the TV?
I need a 6ft DVI to HDMI cable to connect my mini to my TV. Unfortunately these are out of stock at monoprice. Can you suggest any other reputable alternate site where these cables can be bought for a reasonable price?
I'm currently running a 21.5" iMac that I picked up in October of '09. I also have a Viewsonic 21" monitor (nx2232w) that I have connected to the iMac at the moment through an HDMI to DVI cable out of the Viewsonic, and into a DVI to mini-DVI for the iMac.The monitor is appearing and functioning in this setup, but I can't get a resolution of any decency. Most everything is out-of-range, or wildly odd, and I know I can do better somehow. I've been searching for Viewsonic drivers, trying out different combinations, and trolling the forums to no avail.
I have a new iMac which I'm attempting to connect to my Sony KDL-46S5100 LCD Television via HDMI. The TV will not recognize the computer. I have confirmed that my adapter and cable work by testing the connections on a MacBook Pro - that worked fine. However, when I plug the adapter into my iMac the TV says "no signal" and the iMac does not recognize the TV. I went to the Apple store earlier and they were able to get the computer to connect to their TV with no problem.
I am trying to discover what I would need by which to connect my iMac 20" to a 42" HDTV with HDMI port. So far I have not found anything in the manual that tell what is needed, that all just state it can be done.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7), Intel Duo 20" flatpanel
iMac mid-2011. Trying to connect to LG TV with HDMI. I have tried direct HDMI to HDMI cable, which is supposed to work but does not. I have tried using the mini-display connector. It still doesn't work.
I'm trying to connect my mid 2011 iMac to my tv. I have a thunderbolt to hdmi cable that I purchased. I connected the thunderbolt port to the iMac and connected the hdmi port to the tv. I turned on both devices and the tv is not getting the signal.
