MacBook Pro :: Applications Install DVD Showing Error?
Sep 6, 2014
I reinstalled the iOS on my macbook and when i tried to install the applications disk it showed that there was an error and was not able to be installed.
I did a clean install of Snow Leopard. Every thing is fine except iMovie is not opening. Whenever I try to open it, it pops up with the following error message -
'Quartz Extreme required' 'iMovie requires a graphics card that is compatible with Quartz Extreme. One or more of your graphics cards does not support Quartz Extreme.'
I have an Imac 17" Intel Core 2 Duo (5,1) 2ghz late 2006 model. Just recently the superdrive has perished for what ever reason & I have read that some times if you reinstall the original operating discs that came with the computer, the superdrive may or may not come back to life.
Leopard 10.5.8 with all the updates is the current set up on the imac & I want to put Tiger 10.4.7 back on it. So I'm connecting the Imac to my Mac pro 15.4" (late 2007 model - 2.2ghz 4gb ram intel core 2 duo) via firewire & use the Imac as a target disk. I put the install disc into my mac pro with the imac connected, power down - reboot holding 'C' to boot up the Tiger install disc. The apple logo & spinning wheel appear, but then the screen darkens & a 'You must turn off your computer or hold the power switch for a few seconds appears'
Now I've tried resetting the PRAM,NVRAM & SMC also decreasing the amount of RAM there is in the laptop. But the error is always the same? However if I put leopard 10.5.6 disc in that starts ok, snow leopard 10.6 that starts ok too. But tiger 10.4.7 & leopard 10.5.1 won't start at all? How can I get Tiger 10.4.7 back onto the imac using my mac pro?
Yes the only other way is to replace the superdrive, but I'm not in a position to get it replaced at the minute & if reinstalling the original operating discs rejuvenates the old superdrive, then there's no point.
I tried to import a .mod converted (in Streamclip) .dv file into iMovie 6 but received the following error: The file could not be imported: The file Macintosh HD/Users/alix/Movies/MOV03A.dv cant be imported; QuickTime couldnt parse it: -39
I have an iMac running Snow Leopard. I did a clean install.
Afterwards, I tried to install the Applications Install DVD, it opend the DVD, after I select the icon, Ireceive an error message that the install failed.
My boot camp do not work "This disc can not be partitioned because it is impossible to move some of its files." What to do? Is there a way to partition mac without boot camp.
I did a fresh install of my iMac. Now I want to install the applications DVD but I recieve an installation error.I did a new install but I keep getting the same installation error.
I have had this macbook pro now for about 3-4 months and last week it started showing weird yellow/white stripes on places where it should be completely white. It comes and goes from time to time and it seems to be effected by the hardware itself, since when I move my screen it comes and goes. But when I make a screenshot of an opened window, like iCal, with lots of white space, it does not show the yellow-like stripes. I tried adjusting the contrast at universal access but it didn't work.
I am running a MacBook Pro 2.2 GHz with a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E drive. Recently I have been trying to burn some video_ts files ripped with MacTheRipper on to 8x Memorex DL DVD +R. I think the problem here is that my drive is only built to handle 4x speeds. I have tried decreasing the speeds in Toast this however has no effect and I still receive a drive error. I have also tried to transform the video_ts folder into multiple different types of disc images and burn them to the DL DVD from the disk utility function. The error I get from here is also a drive error
i've tried the various short cut commands and i cant take a screenshot. i will hear the camera snap. but the error shows " screen capture fail.. bla bla the error is 'unable to create type string' ... "
i've googled this problem but there was no solution said. i've done the disk utility repair, set keyboard short cuts to default. i dont intend to install a 3rd party app.
My computer has been freezing for a while now, but today I got an error message which said "You need to restart your computer". When I logged in I got an error message which said "Mac OSX quit unexpectadly" I've had it since 2006 and it's worked fine up until a couple of months ago.
A company is sending statements as .rtf files. I cannot view them in TextEdit or Pages. I have opened them on PC's so I know that the files exist are are viewable on a PC. The error I get is:
"The document 'xxx.rtf' could not be opened. The file isn't in the correct format."
In smaller text below it:
"The file might be corrupted, truncated, or in an unexpected format."
I get the same message for both TextEdit and Pages.
(To clarify, 'xxx' is not porn. I replaced the actual file name with 'xxx' for this post.... just incase you were wondering)
I was having kernel panics quite often before 10.5.2, and they don't seem to have stopped even after the upgrade. Someone mentioned that it might have been the aftermarket RAM I installed (which is fully up to apple specs btw). But I noticed something on the error report that leads me to think it might be my M-Audio firewire external sound card instead. I've highlighted the spot in red.

I can't seem to export my movie. I'm using the latest iMovie app. Whenever I try to export it, I get an error code -2125, which says "Unable to prepare project for publishing - The project could not be prepared for publishing because an error occurred." I tried re-editing from the material itself. I can't afford to recapture or to redo everything, because it takes so much time. I'm using a Macbook 2.0 Core Duo 1.5 gig ram.
I sucessfully installed Vista on my New Macbook Pro. I upgraded it from XP. I am trying to do the EXACT same upgrade on my early 08 Mac Pro and am getting an installation Stop at 55%...
I'm getting security question prompts when I try to download from iTunes, and the "rescue email" field keeps getting a "please use a valid email address" error when I enter my email address. It's correct, no matter how many times I enter it.
Mac Book Air with 10.5.8 iMac with 10.6.4 Purchased 10.6 Mac Box Set
When I try to access and install 10.6 on my MacBook Air, I get the following error:
"The operation cannot be completed because the original item for "Mac OS X Install DVD" cannot be found"
I am trying to use remote disc on my iMac to access the 10.6 install disc. I used the the "Ask to use" option on my MacBook Air, and then selected "Ok" on my iMac to give permission. Despite this I get the above error.
I'm having issues setting up a Tri-boot system on my Macbook. I can't figure it out at all. I've created the partitions, and began installing XP. After the set up, the machine reboots to finish the install, but I get a 'disk error: press any key to reboot' error after the install. I am not installing though Bootcamp, and I have insured the drive is an NTFS drive, as that is reason the disk error usually appears.
when i update a program, it will download fine but when asked to install i get this message - 'There is no default application specified to open the document"install iTunes".Than it gives me the option to 'choose Application' but i have no idea what to choose and anything i do click on just pop up this message 'The operation could not be complete. An unexpected error occured(error code-10814)'.
My iMac is suddenly showing error code 0x80020025 (disc drive not supported) when I insert a blank cd. I've burned to this type/brand of cd-r in the past and have never had an issue. How do I fix it?
Im rebuilding a MacBook Air at work and ran into a problem....
After checking the install DVD I get the error:
The installer could not validate the contents of the 'BaseSystem' package
Ive ran a simple Hardware Test and that came back ok, its currently running an extended hardware test.
I am using the original Air install DVDs
Ive tried erasing the drive (SSD 64GB) and that made no difference...
Ive done some reading already on the net and this error usually points to a RAM issue, 3rd party RAM, but obviously this cant be the case with the Air...
Its a 1.8 Rev A with the original SSD and Im using the Superdrive....
Why does the computer show disk improperly ejected error message after waking from sleep mode? Hooked up external WD sata HD for itunes and getting this message more than a few times. What to do?
When i unpacked it find that the home internet very slow and disconnected from other computer i thouht there is a virus came with it formatted it and tried to install from internet but was not able to download then received this error message apple.com/support .21 00F
When the program is installing it stops at 97% and says error, "please close the following programs: safari" so i close them and the same thing happens. even though i have closed safari this error still occurs and i can't finish my installation.
I have a friends MacBook running 10.6.8 2.26Ghz Intel Core Duo 8 gig ram. I have installed UnrarX a couple of times with no errors in the installation process, however the application does not appear in the applications folder or any where else and cannot find it to open .rar files.Â
I fixed the issue by simply copying the UnrarX app from my MacBookPro but would like to find out what is going on. I have been told by my friend that she has had this issue before.
I can't install the bundled software, such as iphoto and so on. It says something about installation failed, without a fail code? the Mac has i completly reinstalled MAC OSX on!
I put the leopard install disk into my computer and started installing it. It went fine until it asked me where to install Leapord. With all other installs (applications, games, etc...) my hard drive will show up and that's what I'll click on, but here nothing shows up except my iPod that was plugged in. As a note, it worked on my other computers, but is not working on my G5.
