I used to just closed my Mac instead of pressing the shutdown button; I tried this time but I cannot shut it down anymore, also my keyboard cannot control the volume or turn on the keyboard-light. Also I remember there is like a back-up shortcut (or something like that don't know what is it exactly named) consisting of three keyboard button.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Apple remote won't pair with my iMac (Lion) or my MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard). It works with iTunes and VLC Media Player on both without being paired, but pairing is supposed to work isn't it?I've used the iMac's camera to check that the remote's battery is OK. When I press any one button, the live camera picture shows a blinking light. However, if I press two buttons (Menu and Next, as is required for pairing) there is no blinking light. Is it possible that the Apple remote's battery is good enough to create a blinking light when one button is pressed, but not when two are pressed? I've hardly used it, so I'd be surprised if the battery was low already.
Also, I'm not sure that when I click on Pair... in System Preferences > Security & Privacy, whether the pressing of two buttons for pairing has to be done while the OK popup is present or not. It doesn't matter when I try it, I never see a paired-remote graphic.
I have the Illuminate keyboard in low light conditions activated and the keyboard is always on. If I turn the lights on the keyboard stays on... it's always on. How can I make it work correctly?

After working fine for a few weeks, the keyboard backlight suddenly doesn't work anymore. When I press F6 (more light) I get the on screen box, but it won't go up beyond 0 and a circle with a line through it is displayed below the indicator/status.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering if my backlight was LED. I wonder how much it will dim over the next couple of years and if keeping it turned down will make it's ability to go bright, when needed last longer. I sometimes turn it up all the way to illuminate the keyboard when typing in low light.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Apple bluetooth keyboard for over a year now, but two days ago I started having some problems with it. Whenever I turn it on, the green light is on for like a second and then it's off, but nothing happens after that (it's supposed to blink a couple times before it connects). I tried changing batteries and everything I could think of, but haven't figured out a way to get it to work again.

View 5 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I'm going mad - but the keyboard light seems to work different on these new Macbook Pro's..
On the old model I thought the light came on when you pressed a key on the keyboard. But on the new model the light only comes on when you press a key AND you are in a dark room..
So a friend spilled some liquids on his new macbook pro 13 5,5.Unibody The keyboard no longer worked, the hd was fried, so he gave it to me and switched to PC's . I replaced the HD, and connected an external keyboard.
Luckily nothing else was effected and it powered up. What I find strange is that the back light still works although NONE of the keys do. The power button and the trackpad still work as well.
I have accepted that I have to purchase a costly top case, but could i not just replace the keys?

View 2 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I knocked over my tea on my new MacBook Pro. (I bought it less that 2 months ago.) I quickly soaked it up, blew a lot out with compressed air, and turned it upside down to let it dry. When I turned it back on I noticed a few keys were sticking. I did my research and one suggestion said to put a drop of water and/or alcohol on the key and just work with it. I know this may sound stupid, but I felt more comfortable with this than to start trying to remove keys. I dried it again and everything seems to be in working order.
All the keys work, and as far as I can tell the internal is okay (unless the sugar/tea is slowly eating away at it, which just makes me sick to think about). The right side of my keyboard, where my tea was spilt, doesn't light up as bright as the left. Is that because I damaged the light, or the tea stained the keys a different color. Does this mean I'm going to have to remove keys to get it clean anyways? Or should I just count my blessings, ignore it, and never drink near my Mac again?
[URL] Will this prevent my 2.4 Alu macbook keyboard light from showing? i searched the site but couldnt find the answer.
View 9 Replies View RelatedSo I've recently purchased the new 13" MBP, and to my understanding, there is a light sensor that turns up the brightness of the backlit keyboard and screen when in dark environments.
However, the problem with my MBP is that when I turn on the lights in my room, the screen brightness and backlit keyboard both turn brighter, and when I turn off the lights, the screen and keyboard grow dimmer, which is exactly the opposite of what is supposed to happen.
I have 'Illuminate Keyboard in Low Light Conditions' Checked in system preferences and the keyboard is still lit up when the room is fully lit? Wouldn't only light up when the room is dark? I'm pressing keys and its always lighting up? its probably not even an issue and I'm over thinking it?

View 4 Replies View Relatedso i installed windows 7 on bootcamp, i noticed that the keyboard backlight keys to adjust the keyboard backlight arent working. then i switched over to the mac os, and it also stopped working there!
whenever i press the keys, the transparent box shows up but the bars do not move, it is currently off, and it also has that crossed out circle symbol.
was wondering, where the keyboard light sensor was. It is strange because although my light sensor seems to be working properly, the angle of the screen can cause the sensor to be activated sometimes in indirect lightening situations. I just was wondering where the sensor was.
