Dec 7, 2010My tibook .867Ghz was working fine this morning, but now when I restarted it this afternoon, the colors are all off (lots of green and rapidly vibrating pixels in background). The computer works, I can run programs and so forth. There are no changes to the displays settings, still 1280x854 and colors "millions". When I switch to thousand or 256 colors there is no significant change.

Feb 13, 2012So my problem with my Macbook Pro's pixels is many of them look blurry and are multiple colors almost like a rainbow. They also only show up on white backgrounds, not black. Some of them are in clusters and others are spread out. One of the clusters is very annoying and looks like a big blurry dot on my screen. I am hoping to take it in to the apple store and see what they can do about it because it seems like it is getting worse. I am assuming these are all dead pixels but I am not certain.

Dec 27, 2009I own a new 13" MB and a Samsung 40" a550 LCD TV. i bought a Mini-port-to-DVI cable and a DVI-to-HDMI. I hooked the HDMI into the 2nd monitor HDMI-slot on the back of the TV and the Mini-port into the MB. I can only get the TV to display the "standard" Mac desktop background -the one thats the picture of outer-space (purple & blues). but i cant get anything to show up on the screen other that just that desktop background. nothing else shows up.

Mar 23, 2010Well, I have a late 2008 13" Macbook Aluminum, (I've had it since Christmas of 2008) and just yesterday, I noticed a weird buzzing-like sound coming from the inside of it. There's also a faint vibrating feel to it. I felt around, and the vibrating feels like it's coming from under the middle of the keyboard more severely. The buzzing occasionally sounds like it's getting faster, and then slower, faster, slower, etc.

Apr 12, 2012My Macs been opend up at apple recently to replace the trackpad - Now i notice the internal speakers seem to be causing the keys on both sides to vibrate at certain frequencies and causing very noticeable distortion. even a simple Skype conversation becomes really bad quality because of the distortion - is this common? Can it be solved in Apple or is it just what Mac speakers are like? I dident think it did it before they opend it up.

May 25, 2012I have a problem with my desktop background i tried clicking "change desktop background" but it wouldn't show the window where i can change the background, i tried the right click to a specific image and it doesn't say about using it as a desktop background. doesn't require removing nor deleting certain files i'm very wary about eleting certain files i own to where if i did delete or remove a file or program the computer would be messed up and i would have to find that Mac OS X 10.5 disk to restart it all over again and rebuild everything.

Dec 2, 2014Since I upgraded to Yosemite my Mail has gone amok. Emails show up directly in Archive, instead of for instance Inbox or Sent. Some sent emails don't show up in any mailbox at all, but apparently they reach the recipient.
How can I delete the Archive mailbox? It works totally different than how it is described in manuals. I have NEVER moved any email to Archive, but it is full of all sorts of emails from all the other mailboxes. I want ALL my received emails in the Inbox and my sent emails in the Sent box.

Dec 4, 2014I have followed all directions from the "help" menu. It is there under signatures but not linked to the email server that I use, nor will it allow me to add anything. In the email the pop up menu allows me to edit the signature, but not to ad it to the email.

OS X Yosemite :: Finder Not Working Well - Show Folders Empty
Nov 30, 2014For some times now I have problems with finder. First I thought it was a problem accessing the network but I also have the problem with the local folders!!
After logging to my account, it works well for some times and then suddenly (may be after accessing machine on my network - Synology NAS) finder begin to show all folders as they are empty!!!
The funny thing is that if for instance I do a "file/open" within an app or do an attachment and so access a "windows like finder" it works!!
But if I use the finder ... folders are empty (shown as ...).
The only thing to get everything back is to restart the computer (and many times I have to hard stop the machine as the finder is not working anymore and my mac mini don't want to restart. I keep the desktop background and nothing happened!!
The strange thing is that it seems I don't have the problem on my MacBook Pro!! The mac mini was a clean install!

Jun 7, 2010I'm having difficulties adapting to OSX. On windows, when you open Photoshop or Dreamweaver or any other application, ou can focus on that application only. On Mac, if you have the browser opened you can see it while in photoshop. I do web design and I never know whether I'm looking a print screen or the actual site. Can anyone recommend an app that "fades" the background so I can visually focus on the program being used? I tried Think, it works fine but with only one app at a time and I that to happen with all apps, as this is annoying for any software.

Mar 19, 2012My late 2009 Macbook Pro started to have screen issues a couple weeks ago. Basically, the screen just goes pink as in the picture below. The laptop came with a dual GPU (GeForce 9400M & GeForce 9600M GT) and switching between them does not resolve the problem. I also tried re-calibrating the screen display, but to no avail. I tried googling the issue but nothing useful came out of that. I've also tried running the apple hardware test but it said everything is fine.
This issue has come out of nowhere (I haven't spilled anything on my laptop, nor have I dropped it...). At first, it appeared to go pink randomly, and go back to normal randomly. But now, it remains pink all the time. I would have taken it to an Apple Store if I could, unfortunately there's no such thing as an Apple Store in my country.So now I'm stuck with this annoying pink screen

There are some good new ones in SL, but it's still not much. The W7 RTM ones are jaw-dropping and I quickly made it the default folder for my SL backgrounds. Is it a money issue or something?

OS X Yosemite :: Can Mail Show Colored Flags Instead Of Words In Viewer Flag Column?
Dec 10, 2014OSX's Mail.app used to display the actual colored flag in the (classic layout) viewer's flag column; visible and compact. I've noticed recently (since the iOSemite update?) that it displays the words (Red/Orange/ etc.) instead. With a narrow column that used to accommodate the flags, this now shows "R…/O…/ etc. instead. Since my Mail window is only a 1/2 screen wide, there is simply no room for an inch-wide column.
Is there a way to make Mail show the actual flags in that column, rather than the verbose names of the flags?
If not, I can of course rename the flags into a single-character name, so it fits

Jun 11, 2010I cant figure out how to change the background color of it in candybar. I'm sick of the standard grey mac color.When I'm in candybar I go to the dock section-->view-->dock-->preview background..the options under preview background are greyed out. Also when I am in the dock section-->view-->background-->change color. I try changing the color but it doesn't change. Am I doing something wrong..or what?
