I'm getting this error every time I try to log into any Microsoft Office application. "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." And below is what I get when I click on "More Information". Any ideas on how to fix this? Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0

My husband has the system set up so the kids accounts are secured by NetNanny. We noticed tonight that the kids can't use Word, Excel or Powerpoint from their accounts.
You can only see it in my account. You can't see it in my husband's Administrator account. How do we change this? We'd like all users to be able to use the Office products.

I am thinking of upgrading from lion to mountain lion, simply to use the dictation feature, but I need it for "typing" papers in office for mac....word. Does it work for that, or is it geared more for sending messages?

In prep for moving to the "Cloud", I downloaded Lion last night without the knowledge that my 2005 version of Office would no longer be supported. Silly me, now I need to either switch to IWORKS or something else, immediately, so I can get back to work. If I download IWORKS or LIBRE will I be able to open my OFFICE files that are already on my computer?

I updated to Lion on my desktop a few months ago and I swear now I can't read older Microsoft word and Excel documents correctly on this computer using Office 2011. The document opens and you can see all of the data in a preview window (from finder) but once it opens fully the data/words are not there. I have Lion on a brand new Macbook Pro I just purchased and installed the Microsoft Office 2011 and it opened the excel document I was having trouble with fine.I can't find many links for Office for Mac issues.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes the 15" MBP have the ideal resolution for day to day office work (email, docs etc..) and to play the occasional game or is it even too low for this? My feeling is that the 17" MBP resolution is too high for office work and would be too small to read. What is the "perfect" resolution when doing office work on a 15" screen?

I bought a macbook pro about 3-4 months ago. I posted before with problems, though it's getting much worse. Initially the "return" key stuck pretty badly. I brought it into the genius bar and they claimed they didn't feel it (it's very very obvious, they clearly just didn't want to deal with it).
Anyways, a month after that the computer began rattling. Ever once in a while it would make a prolonged and negative sound. When I pick it up nowdays it sometimes makes a suspicious sound as though something is moving freely inside.
And finally, another month later and two hours ago, the battery failed. It now only runs when plugged into the adapter, and its status is "service battery" in the little icon thing.
At this point I really feel the computer should be traded out; too much is going wrong for a mere fix (and the genius bar has been very stubborn with me in terms of admitting problems). So, symptoms in mind, do you think I should be able to trade in my mac, and how would I go about doing this?
are they released at relavively the same time (well quarter ) ?I'm in the uk, i was just wondering if we are far behind the US release dates
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was just wondering how Apple announces new products. I'm waiting for some sort of announcement for the new MacBook Pro. If there's a conference soon then maybe that's when they will announce it? Or do they just do it on their website or something?

I am unable to access a website on my macbook (which I used to be able to access) that I am able to access using my iPad and IPhone. I have cleared my history, caches, and everything else I can find. I upgraded to OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and Safari 8 thinking this would possible solve the problem, but I am having the same issue.

I'd like to be able to work on the imac in the office from home, on my macbook, although i'd need the remote screen in the office to stay blank and not show what i'm doing when logged in as i work in a public office with a few people.
Are there any apps that enable me to do this or is there a feature inbuilt into OSX?

I went to Office Depot and asked the cashier, when purchasing, if it would work for Mac. She said "yeah." Well, I'm thinking I didn't get the right info.
So now I feel like I am stuck with this. I had bought it because I was needing to open some Publisher docs sent to me, and the free trials online didn't seem to work.
This is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Before I even use it.
It does not accept the product key provided in the box (ordered from amazon). I have tried virtually every possible misprint/mispelling of the product key... but the product key seems to be easy enough to read to me...
Microsoft's site has no support number listed. Microsoft assigns you installation a unique number, then does not accept it for help on the support site.
Office 2011, you are a steaming pile of crap, and it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another Microsoft product.
I guess the basic question is ... will Microsoft Office v.X work correctly with MAC OS X 10.6.8?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone had any compatibily issues with Microsoft Office 11? I frequently make word and powerpoint documents on campus, sometimes on windows computers, sometimes Mac's. I either email the files to myself, or store them on a flash drive. However, when I try to open the files, I simply see a blank document. What's even more frustrating is that these files open in pages on my computer. I suspect I have something enabled on my preferences that is blocking this, but I have no idea what this is. Essentially, any file that I create on my computer works, and also works when opened on another computer. However, any file I create on a different computer(be it mac or windows) is not visible when opened on my computer. I simply see a blank document/blank powerpoint slides.

As you know, there are several Office versions. The Professional and Special Media boast Exchange server support, whereas Home and Student does not have it. I wonder, what is it all about? Are there any special files that one can copy and enable this support? I could not find anything specific to this issue on my computer. Moreover, no direct reply from Google searches.
