View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new to mac. Used migration assistant to transfer my data files and folders from windows 7 system. The files are there as I can search for a specific file and find it but I don't see any of the folders or files in finder. I have reviewed other forum entries asking questions like this and answers seem to direct folks to another user account but I don't have another user account on this system after migrating.

After using Firefox and many others on the Mac, it's now my default browser. It's the only browser that's in the dock, actually. But I have a complaint about it.On a MacBook, the screen isn't wide enough for all of my bookmarks to show up in the bookmarks bar. The "bookmarks" menu in the bookmarks bar is hiding the last bookmark I have. How do I get rid of that? The top menu already has a bookmarks pull down menu.

After my recovery drive went missing and trying to reinstall it, had to do a format of my hard drive and reinstall everything once I got OS X reinstalled and up-to-date, I tried to import my bookmarks from a backup bookmarks file, when I quit safari and re-open safari bookmarks were missing and default ones back in place. When searching though the forums for how to fix this problem but too know unluck they did not work.

I accidently remove 'All My Files' folder from Favorites in Finder. How do I bring that back?
Info:

I accidentally moved "My Pictures" folder from the My Favorites sidebar in Finder, and I can no longer find the folder. I've searched "all my files" for a My Pictures folder and nothing has come up, not even in the trash (that I haven't yet emptied). I am wondering if there is anyway of getting this folder back, as I had several pictures and folders organized within that My Pictures folder. All of my pictures are somewhere still on my computer but even they are hard to locate now without them being in any folder. Would be difficult to have to re-organize every single thing that was in that folder.

I have just been looking at the presentation video "Advance in Core Images" from WDC: URL....What I have just realised, is that although images, folder structure and metadata can be migrated from Aperture to Photo - Images adjustments very likely cannot be migrated - Apple are changing the underlying mechanism by which image adjustments are being made and the stage in image processing where they are being made. For example, even if both tools have a "Brightness" adjustment, the effect of a 14% change in brightness may well be different.
Also, the set of editing adjustments in Photo will different than Aperture - even if you could migrate some adjustments - what would be the value of migrating some adjustments, but not all?In an Aperture to Lightroom migration metadata and folder structure information can be retained, original and final images can be retained, but the sticking point for may is that the adjustments and the reversibility of those adjustments cannot be retained. You cannot say, I want the same image, but with a little less sharpening and no noise reduction. It will be no different in the Aperture to Photo migration.
The date in the menu bar is correct but Incorrect date Shown on Migrated Files. I bought an iMac running Leopard last 22 November and migrated all my files from my old eMac. Subsequently all my email messages have been dated 22 November 2008. Other timed events have the same date. And now that I've bought a MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard and migrated files from the iMac, the same thing has happened. So, operating Time Machine for the very first time yesterday on the iMac, it displays the backup date as 22 November 2008.
