my 2 week old 13" macbook pro Mac OSx 10.7.3 keeps on freezing, crashing and sometimes it wont boot. i checked the console and found this error several times : it may or may not be the cause of the crash.
"4/25/12 11:27:00.035 PM UserEventAgent: [11] error in getAndLockContext: open returned -1 (errno=2) file was /private/var/servermgrd//servermgr_certs.lock".
and just now i noticed that my battery icon has an (x) indicating that there is no battery installed! FYI my MBP just came from a full charge.

everytime i start my machine the three processes start immediatly to raise to something like 1gb (each!). So far i tried
-resetting SMC, PRAM, NVRAM
-repair disk permissions
-setting volume to boot from
-deleted the com.apple.loginwindow.plist and loginwindow.plist
and i have the newest version of lion installed. i havent used the computer all the weekend and when i turned it on yesterday the problem appeared

I just returned my macbook air to fabric settings and put all my valuable stuff on a usb stick, everything from the usb stick works but office 201 it says that there was a problem with my installation-program of office and that i need to install it again but i don't have any disk from word just the office folder in my application folder.

I keep getting "Open error 18446744073709551594: “Unknown error: -22”" when trying to repair disk permissions. When I boot in recovery mode and try to repair the disk I get the message that the disk can't be repaired that I should back up my files and reformat. Since I hace been hearing about the Flashback trojan I am not sure if it is because my Mac is infected or simply because I somehow messed up with my HD. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Will it be any good to reinstall Lion? Is there any way of avoiding reformatting?

I have a MacBook Pro intel i7 Chip. I am running disk permissions and its taking a long time and showing Open error 5 on the details list. I am letting it do its thing but im curius as to what this error is and why its taking so long in the utility. I see in some other postings that sometimes it te signs of a bad drive and sometimes not. it is the Toshiba 750GB drive.

I have a mbpr with 10.9.4 Mavericks. It's been only a week since I got it and Safari just keep showing up this error in most of the sites I try to visit. Seriously it is so annoying. I try not to use other browser since Safari uses very little power from the battery.

i have some programs from my previously migrated macbook data and new programs that yield the 'cannot support power pcs apps' error.does that mean i cannot use these programs ever? is there a fix, ie installing new stuffit expander to run an .exe file?i really cannot believe apple would reduce so much functionality with the new operating system.

I am having some real "first" problems with my Mac Pro. The "repair" function is not able to do anything with it. Before I replace the disc, is there something I can do without replacing the disc? I have no idea what this malfunction is or how o understand it. This is my first Mac since the late '90's and I expected problems, it's a computer, and am not sure of the steps I need to analyze the problem or how to correct it. The only thing I need to back up are my clients photographs. The rest is replaceable. Perhaps I should also get advice on how to properly burn CD's for b/u of my wifes email. Well, my email also.

Just bought my new Mac Pro within the month, already having issues! All of my applications today are looking like this: [URL]. That's Safari, in case you couldn't tell. I have the 2.8GHz 8-core with everything default, so the graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256MB. The only thing I have upgraded so far has been RAM. I added 8GB of OWC 2GB sticks. Have completed the hardware test multiple times and never shows any problems. The other "fun" thing I just got was a codec overrun error, which I'm not sure if it's related. I tried downloading Onyx to see if clearing cache would fix anything but got that error when trying to open the dmg.

I have a few .wma movie files that I have created in (the horrible) "Windows Live Movie maker".
I wanted to be able to play these files on my iTunes, so I foolishly purchased QuickTime Pro after reading the description. "QuickTime 7 Pro can convert your media to different formats, so you can watch a movie or video on your iPhone, iPod, and Apple TV..". But it refuses to open any .wma files so that I can convert them. I keep getting the error message #2048. I read somewhere that installing new codecs might help...?

I put "levelwidget" on the dashboard - it is supposed to make a macbook into a Level. Sounded interesting...now I regret! The widget is corrupted and now when I try to open the dashboard it immediately closes and gives me an error message "you can't open the application motion because power pc applications are no longer supported" How do I delete this widget so I can open the dashboard. I get the following message when I try to open a document on my external HD- "The operation could not be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -43). I can open other documents in all the other folders on the hard drive and I can open the problem documents when I attach the hard drive to a PC. Does anyone know why I get the error code? Is there a list of error codes that I can look at?
