I'm unable to read the books i download from itunes store on my macbook.
Info:MacBookPro
i´m trying to read some of the books i already bought and have on my ipad, and now i need to read them on my macbook, how can i do that?
Info:
MacBook Pro, iOS 5.1.1
I purchased three books and downloaded them onto my computer. I now want to read them on my computer not my iPhone and I do not have an iPad. I was told that an icon next to the books purchased indicates that it's for the ipad or iphone only. I had no idea that this was the case when I purchasd them.
1) can I return these?
2) If not, is there a way to read them on my computer that I may not be aware of - e.g. an app for the computer?Â

When I connect my external hard disk (Maxtor) to my Mac Book Pro, I am not able to copy/transfer files to it, though I can copy from it to my Mac. How do I change the permissions from Read Only to Read and Write?

The drive in my G5 tower will read/write commercial or blank CDs and will read/write blank DVDs, however, it will not read most commercial DVDs. When I insert them it tries to read it then after a few seconds it just spits them back out. Occasionally commercial DVDs will read and mount fine, but this seems to be rare.

Mac OS X (10.4.10)
My MacBook will not read some of my cd's. They work in other computers so I know it is not the discs. It makes noise as though it is trying to read them then just ejects them. I ran the Apple hardware test but it shows no problem.Â

My MBP 2.33Ghz has always been with discs but its starting to become a pain, a friend burnt a disc for me the other day which it read but thought it was blank.
Last night I put a +R DL DVD that worked in another machine and it just ejected it, I then put my 10.5 disc in and it worked fine.
Just in the last day or so ive noticed that i'm unable to read certain emails. Headings and script appear as a series of A's. I've tried viewing them in different formats (view>message...) , text encoding and even rebuild. None of which has worked. I suspect i would need to re install the Mail app? Would this have anything to do with a recent installation of Microsoft Office?

I am using my MBA with an old Dell Inspiron laptop (running Vista) for the optical drive when necessary. I've installed software using remote disc with no problems (reinstall of OS, then Sibelius music notation software). I assumed I would also be able to read audio CDs or DVDs using remote disc, but every time I have tried this it doesn't work. The connection is fine, but the MBA is unable to find the data - one message I've had says it cannot find the original source (or something like that!). Does remote disc only work for software? Or might there be a way around this? I don't particularly want to use iTunes on the Dell as it's set up with my wife's account and even plugging my iPhone into it got it all confused.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to buy a Macbook Pro 15, the only problem I have is deciding on the screen resolution. I am unable to go look at one in store as the closest store is over 2 hours away. I am just wondering if it is possible to return a macbook pro high res if I am unable to read the text on the screen.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI've been using this MBP since 2007, and, it's starting to fail me. I was using an external hdd on it since the internal one crashed, and, then the external one crashed. I just purchased a 250gig hdd which fits perfectly in my Macbook, but, now I have another issue that's been pressing me for some time that didn't bother me at all until now when I need to install Snow Leopard;
My Super Drive isn't reading discs at all, and, it's making this scary crackling noise. I uploaded a video on youtube of me putting 2 discs in it, 1 with content (World of Warcraft: The Frozen Throne) and the other without content (Just a blank CD).
Before I link the video, I'd like to note that I am apparently amazed by the laser seeing as how I point to it and make a note of it ._. URL
Why is it when I insert a CD into the "slot" does my Mac not read it....it pushes it back out. I have the correct disc, I have verified that several times. I have also checked the System preferences and I have marked ask what to do when a disc is inserted, but for some reason I can't burn or read any discs. I am using a Macbook 10.4.11.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI own a Macbook Pro and today I realised that it wasn't reading any DVDs. It has read them before in the past but it won't now.
Whenever I put the DVD in it waits for a while making it's regular sounds and after about a minute it ejects it, doesn't even read the disc or anything.
I'm trying to copy from my Vista hard drive to my Mac hard drive. I'm getting rid of the Vista machine.
I took out the hard drive from the Vista and put it in an external enclosure that is USB attached to my Mac. The Mac is unable to read the drive.
I thought that leopard was able to read NTFS file systems?
It acts as if it doesn't even understand the partition table format on the drive.
Is there a simple way to get this to work? Does NTFS-3G help reading the partition table?

I have a 2010 13" MBP, and have just realised that I'm unable to read my Micro SD card when I pop it into a SD card adaptor and attempt to read via the inbuilt SD card slot. It works fine on my XP netbook though.
Has anyone encountered this problem? Is it normal? Is there any way around it?
