MacBook Pro :: 2011 Screen Scratch Resistant Corning Gorilla Glass?
May 1, 2012i just had the unfortunate incident of someone touching my screen with an object. i dont think it scratched but it led me to researching if the glass is scratch resistant and trying to learn more about the glass itself. ive read that it is gorilla glass which i think is very scratch resistant but that i believe is not confirmed. Â Â
can anyone shed light on the LCD glass they use and if it is able to withstand minor bumps/nicks/taps/ from objects like pen-caps, or a paper clip hitting it etc etc??im looking for specific info like its actual properties, makeup and scratch threshold. Â

Aug 12, 2010I've got a screen scratch that is driving me nuts. I've tried some of the buff compounds, etc. to no avail. applied a screen protector to mask the scratch? Right now it shows up because it distorts the light.

Sep 17, 2009I'm going on holiday in Mid-October, and I have a computer there waiting for me, but I don't have a monitor available so would like to hook it up to my macbook pro's screen for obvious reasons.
Anyone ever done this? The computer just has a standard VGA output.

Jun 9, 2009It'll be interesting to see if the screen in the 13" MBP announced yesterday is the same one that Apple quietly started putting in the MB a couple of months ago. Someone recently posted that Apple changed the display in their UMB after they complained about the washed-out look of the screen. I wonder how difficult it would be to get Apple to agree to a replacement based on the differences between the old and new displays.

Mar 24, 2009My 2.5 year old (wired) mighty mouse gave up the ghost recently, and I just replaced it with a new one today.
The thing is... it doesn't seem to scroll "down" as easily as it scrolls "up" and "left to right". (as it is right now, I have to apply a lot more pressure to scroll down than I do to scroll up or laterally)
Is there an adjustment I can make to get this thing to scroll "down" as easily and freely as it does "up"?Has anyone else had this sort of issue, or is it just me? Ok, Thanks.

May 4, 2012I have a 15" Mac Book Pro that I bought in May of 2011. Especially, when I watch movies or use Skype it gets hot. It's not hot like it can burn me or anything. And I realize they "work" harder when using Skype or watching vids but I was wondering if the computer getting warmer is normal ?

Apr 21, 2010I just opened my MBP and I found this black gunk on parts of it... it wiped off pretty easily but on the top of it there's one small scratch that isn't going away. Should I worry about this? I didn't even touch it and it had a scratch on it. It's very small but it still really bugs me. It just bugs me that I just turned it on and there's already a scratch.

Sep 26, 2010I am so upset right now, this is my 2nd macbook with this problem. I just got this macbook yesterday and the hard drive is making a clicking noise, but it isn't a click....click...click... like a lot of people have had, it's actually more of a quick series of clicks every few seconds, almost like the hard drive is shaking. It goes away for a bit when I am typing, like right now, but after I stop it comes right back.
Also the fan is pretty loud, considering I haven't put anything on the computer yet.. I've already been to the genius bar and all they did was give me a new, worse macbook, so there is no way I'm going back. Are there any fixes for a noisy hard drive aside from voiding my warranty and putting my own in? If it is normal, I might just invest in a good pair on noise cancelling head phones... Thanks!
