I recently bought a mac book and i downloaded Chrome, but I think i downloaded something after that caused a virus cause i got inappropriate adds, which my sister was able to fix. I still get these random blank pages that turn into adds for mac keeper or mix and it pops up almost every time i want to click something it really bothers me because i have to constantly close it. i have tried re-downloading it but it still wont work.
Ok, so there was this application I've never used but it keeps saying "You do not have permission to use the application "uHD-uninstall-Agent".....and so forth. I click Ok but the pop up keeps popping up and interrupting everything I do. I went to login items to remove it from startup but it still won't stop. This is a school laptop so I cannot control admin.
My OS is 10.9.3 and I've only had it for a month or so. Â
I'll be on Firefox or the desktop and without touching the mouse or keyboard or anything 'var' appears highlighted in yellow at the bottom left corner of my screen and a speech bubble will define it. The definition matches the one for 'var' in the built-in dictionary but I very rarely use it and have not had it open while this has happened.Â
It happens about once a week and the word defined has been different 1 or 2 times but mostly its just 'var'. The Macbook also freezes occasionally or has periods of very slow loading; something which never happened with my old Mac White. Do I have a virus or something?
Now every time I click something on a webpage I get a pop up for Facebook sign up or a MacKeeper window. Also getting weird double underlines under my usual links and it goes to adds for random websites.

I have in the past when entering a password clicked "SAVE" when the auto save password window would pop up. Now I notice that passwords get changed, and the original password is automatically inserted when it is no longer correct. How can you reenter a correct password in this situation?
I think iTunes mail is the worst. When you hover the mouse over a picture in a mail message, a box pops up with "[URL]". This blocks out the content below this window. Is there a way to turn this off.
One of the pop-window in our web- application is not showing the vertical scroll bar in safari 5.0.5 only. This is on Snow Leopard. The scroll bar appears in later versions of safari like safari 5.1.1. etc.
After updating my itunes to the latest version [11.2.1 (1)], i keep getting this pop-up window (the obscured gibberish is my email address):Â
Not only is it annoying and locks me from using itunes until i hit the 'sync' button, it also prevents me from updating podcasts. it just keeps popping up over and over.Â
Everything in the "Authorize this Computer..." menu checks out and i've only had my one account on this computer and iphone. everything has been fine until the software update.Â
my mbp has a very strange problem. when i was using my computer it will open a window of safari once in a while. and i am sure i didn't thouch anything.
I think I found a bug in iTunes, because I can find no other explanation. Every once in a while (like once every three weeks) my iTunes window goes down. By this I mean everytime i click a different playlist, view, category, iTunes store, the window moves down a bit leaving this gap at the top. It randomly comes and goes, and its not really a big deal, but it does get really annoying. Is anyone else getting this? and no, im not just moving the window down
I keep getting a popup box that asks me for my Yahoo password. It doesn't look anything like the Apple Mail reminders (the ones that make my Mail icon bounce up and down), so I haven't filled it in. I have also changed my Yahoo password just in case that account was hacked, but the popup keeps showing up. All of the answers I've seen in the forums and elsewhere on line are fairly confusing. This seems like some sort of virus, but no one seems to believe that Macs can get viruses.
So I did read though the previous forum relating to this problem. None of the posters were having the exact issue I am, and I could not find a solution within.
my hardware: powerbook G4. 1.33GHz Power PC. (upgraded to) 2GB DDR SDRAM. (just upgraded to) 320GB WD HDD
my OS: Just installed 10.4.11
Here's the scenario (I hope someone can help): Several months ago my poor baby took a dive off a counter onto the tile floor, while running. Never before this did I see the "Kernal Panic" restart screen.
Immediately following the fall, I get the error if the computer is bumped, moved or if I put weight on the keyboard (palms).
I feared it was a HDD issue so I hastily replaced the toshiba 60GB HD with a WD320 HD. And at the same time I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11.
The computer seemed fine for a couple weeks, now I am getting the error again with increasing frequency. Mostly when I put pressure on the keyboard (palms).
What I tried: new HD, new OS, checked the RAM to see if it had come loose in the fall.
Could it be my video card? Is it more likely hardware or software?
I started up my macbook pro, and instead of the Apple logo popping up while the computer loaded, a picture of a flashing globe had popped up. I ended up shutting the computer off and then turned it back on and it loaded up as normal. I was just curious if this was something i should be worried about..? i've only had my macbook for about 2 weeks, and it's my first time with a mac computer.

I am having MacKeeper popup on my browser every time a new tab opens practically. Tune Up my Mac is also coming up occasionally as well as something called Mac Booster (I think?). I have notifications saying "congratulations you're a winner" and other spam of that sort and I have already moved all of the extensions on my google chrome setting and I am just not sure how to stop these...
I upgraded to the new OS X Yosemite and within 2 days of my upgrade; I had a popup for me to update my Java Script. I went through the download and after the download, I still have the Java Popup randomly coming up when I'm online. I did attempt to go through the download again, to clear it up and also attempted deleting it from the HDD. I also downloaded an Apple Debug Program and ran it.

I just purchased my first Mac: 13" macbookpro. I got a time capsule with it as well, but cannot set up my macbook to connect to the internet. I connected my desktop pc with windows XP via ethernet just fine. But I cannot get the wireless network to popup on my airport extreme.
Time machine has suddenly started popping up an error message saying that it cannot connect to server while off-network on my MBP. I use a timecapsule to wirelessly backup when I am home. At home, it connects fine, no messages, no errors. It just started doing this when I am away - previously it either silently ignored not being able to connect or made a local snapshot. Either would be fine over popping up the message (multiple times).I've tried the following so far:1. Re-install Lion, restore user, applications, settings from backup - did after an erase of MBP lcoal harddrive to get a full install. 2. sudo tmutil disablelocal; sudo tmutil enablelocal; sudo tmutil snapshot - all worked fine
3.repaired permissions on local hard drive.Â
4.verified time capsule.
5.Added timecapsule disk to privacy settings on spotlight
6.I do use dropbox - tried quiting out of it
7.Changed name of time capsule disk

Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.
Popup Error Message: "Failed to listen for incoming Popup jobs. You will not be able to use Popup printing for the duration of this session. Please report this incident to a system administrator."
I am having a problem getting out of an adware popup screen. It won't allow me to click out of it or open up a new tab on my Safari. I have attached a pic.
My computer was locked by a pop-up that resembled safari. It had "applesecurity" and a phone number to call. I removed it by reading through the community. How can I determine if malware was installed on my computer? From what I read it doesn't seem like a good idea to install anti-virus software.
I am having image issues when I play any of the crysis games (the only games I have). Random, irregular, odd shapes and lines start popping up on my screen. Everyone keeps telling that it is because i need to update my nvidia driver, but they never work and cant install. the driver i have now is the one from bootcamp. i just got my mbp a month ago and i hope it isnt a hardware issue. there are no screen problems when i am doing anything else. where can i find updated drivers that will work on my mbp in windows xp?
Try to open iChat window, version 4.0.8. in Time Machine. The TM window changes to a finder window. Is this normal for an application like TM? Trying to get back an open chat. not recorded.
I have previously used the GRAB utility to take a snapshot of an open Safari windiw, and the snapshot included the entire windiw contents. When I opened the snapshot in Preview, I could scroll up and down and view the entire contents of the original Safari windiw. Then, I tried it again a few hours later on a different Safari window, but I then got only the part of the windiw that was visible in the browser at the time that I GRABbed the window (i.e., when I took the snapshot). What do I need to do to get the entire windiw?
