MacBook Pro :: Bluetooth In It Won't Pair With Anything

Feb 14, 2012

I have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old.  They are both running the latest version of Lion.  Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device.  I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker. I get the same message every time.

MacBook Pro :: Need To Pair Again Bluetooth KB After Sleep Mode

Dec 9, 2008

Every time I try to "discover" my new MBP with the Apple bluetooth keyboard, to wake the laptop up from sleep, it fails and I have to go through the process of setting up a bluetooth device. However the pairing takes forever, sometimes doesn't work at all, and I have to type in a new pairing code each time. The whole process takes between 3 and 20 minutes, depending on how quickly the MBP can find the keyboard. I have the same problem with both Apple wireless keyboards at work and home, so it's not the keyboard.

MacBook Pro :: IPhone 5s Not Able To Pair With Laptop Through Bluetooth

OS X :: Bluetooth Keyboard Pair With 2 Macs?

Jul 6, 2009

We have a 20" monitor that my wife mainly uses, but I like to use it sometimes too. We have just been using the built in keyboard with the external display.

We want to buy the bluetooth Apple keyboard, but we are wondering if it's possible to pair 1 keyboard to 2 Macs. Is it as simple as turning bluetooth off on the Mac that's not using the bluetooth keyboard at the time? Or would we have to set up and go through the process of pairing them every time it needs to be connected to the other Mac?

Hardware :: Apple Bluetooth Keyboard Will Not Pair With IBook?

Nov 18, 2006

I just got a new Apple Bluetooth keyboard and it will not pair with my iBook. When I use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, it sees the keyboard, and then asks me to type the passcode. I type it, hit the Return key, and it just sits there forever. I didn't have an issue pairing the keyboard with my new Mac Pro. What am I doing wrong?

Intel Mac :: Can Pair IPhone To It To Utilize Bluetooth Function

Apr 13, 2012

I currently own one of the first iMacs built in 2006 that were originally built for the education sector. This model doesn't have a Bluetooth card so obviously I can't use any wireless peripherals with it.  But my question is whether I can use my iPhone 4 as a substitute. Is there any way to pair the iPhone with my iMac and use it as a Bluetooth access point?I'm planning on getting a Magic Trackpad for it and I don't really want to buy an adapter if I can somehow do this.

MacBook Pro :: Popping Sound With Bluetooth Speaker

Dec 4, 2014

I just purchased a Bose SoundLink Mini bluetooth speaker. It pairs up and connects fine with both my iPad Mini and Macbook Pro. The sound quality is excellent on playback from iTunes on the iPad Mini, however when I connect with the Macbook Pro....I am getting terrible popping and cracking sounds. I am using Lion 10.7.5 on the Macbook Pro. Wondering if it must be some issue with the operating system since I DON'T have the problem when I play audio from the iPad Mini.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: External Bluetooth Speaker Volume Too Low?

Jun 14, 2012

I have an external bluetooth speaker from jawbone called jambox. From the start on I had the normal speaker volume like I also stil have it if I connected the bluetooth speaker with my iPod touch. But some day ago, the volume from my whole Mac (not just from iTunes) dropped through my Jawbone. It is not just about 40% of that, what I know of, that the Jawbone Jambox is able to bring. This problem exists through all audio / video programs on my Macbook Pro. So like in iTunes, also in VLC or MplayerX. Everywhere. The software sound of MacOS Lion is on maximum. Also the sound control of the jambox itself is reached. It seems like there is a protection against to high volume anywhere turned on which just do not allow me to turn up the volume beyond a specifc point of db. But, I can only repeat: The speaker is in a good shape. I am able to play music much more louder with my iPod paired. But just not with my macbook. I am looking for a "hidden" option to disable the maximum volume limitation of my Mac to the speaker.

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4), Jawbone Jambox

Software :: Monster Itv Cable Link For 13" Mac

Mar 26, 2008

i'm thinking of getting the monster itv cable so i can hook up my 13" macbook to any screen. reviews seem to rate it as generally good and it would be extremely useful for me as i go round to mates house's fairly often and they have big screens, and showing them the latest funnies online or watching films on the mac screen is too small all too often. - what does the picture look like, is the quality worth paying the money for it?what do i actually see on screen, no one has info on this, will it be exactly what i have on my laptop screen, or will there be a window//program that feeds the images or audio to whatever i've got it plugged into. if so, what are the limitations? can i browse online or only watch dvds. can i flick through my iphoto library without launching a slideshow or viewer? and is the quality the same for dvds as it is for streaming (at frames per minute speed or something like that, you probably understand this better than me).

IMac :: External Speaker Sound Only Coming Out Of One Speaker?

Dec 21, 2009

I have a 2.1 Logitech Z4 setup, and the sound is only coming out of the left speaker. I have checked the wires, they are fine, and both speakers do work - but it could be the socket that's the problem. It's plugged into the line-in socket, I have put the output in System Preferences to Headphones, and everything is inserted correctly.

What do I do?

EDIT: My sound system is plugged into the headphones jack. I have tried putting headphones into the headphone jack and the sound also only comes out of the left earbud.

MacBook Pro :: What Would Be A Good Monitor To Pair

Oct 9, 2010

I want to pair my MBP (high res antiglare) with a 24" monitor. The colour levels on the MBP are really good and I'm a little worried about buying a monitor and setting them up side by side and not having the two match in terms of quality.

Can anyone recommend a good monitor that is of equal quality to the MBP antiglare screens? I've read good things about the Dell ST2410 which is within my budget.... if really pushed I could go for the U2410 but would really rather not spend that much. Are there any other monitors that are cheaper than the U2410 that have 'mac mode'?

OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: MacBook Will Not Pair With IPhone

May 23, 2012

Black MB running latest updated version of Snow Leopard, iPhone 4 running iOS5.1.1 (profile info below is outdated).  I also have an non-G3 iPad that's running iOS5.1.1 and have no problem tethering it to the phone.  I want to use the phone as a personal wifi hotspot occasionally for my computer but Bluetooth panel in System Preferences shows a red light and says that the iPhone, which it apparently can see, is not connected.  I've tried deleting reference to the other in both devices and starting new connections.  I got as far as having a connection code display on the MB that I was to type into the phone.  As soon as I did so, the connection if there was one at the time broke.  I've read a whole lot of threads where users have had problems with USB connection for tethering their computers, but not much about Bluetooth connectivity issues.  I know that Bluetooth might not be the most stable product in Apple's inventory but I've had zero issues with the iPad, even when we're in the car and in areas where the cell signal is iffy.  I need to be able to use the computer the same way for business.

MacBook Pro :: 3rd Party Mouse Will Not Pair Using Lion?

Jun 17, 2012

Just upgraded to Lion tonight.  My HP Laser bluetooth Model N558 mouse which worked perfectly on the 17" macbook pro using Snow Leopard NOW will not pair with Mac.  Downloaded the latest HP drivers, did a software update, restarted but mouse attemps to pair for about 1-2 seconds and then error message comes up saying the Mouce cannot pair with the Mac.  Very frustrating and not finding any answers on MAC or HP forums. Error message on "select bluetooth device" says, "The device does not have the necessary services." It sure had the necessary services using Snow Leopard.  Next error message, "The paring attempt was unsuccessful.  The device is refusing the paring attempt..."

No matter what I have tried, new batteries, restarts, take out batteries for 10 minutes, holding down 'discover' button for 10 seconds. I've tried just about everything mentioned in the forums.

MacBook Pro :: Disable The Built-in Bluetooth And Enable A Bluetooth Dongle Instead?

Mar 4, 2008

I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I want to share between a PC and MBP via a DVI/USB KVM switch. I think I can do this by plugging a USB Bluetooth dongle into the KVM's USB input.

If I use the MBP's built-in bluetooth then when I switch from one computer to the other via the KVM, the keyboard and mouse will stay paired with the MBP; but if I disable the built-in hardware then the dongle can provide the bluetooth capability and be switched between the computers.

Mac Mini :: Can't Seem To Find A Way To Pair Remote?

Jan 2, 2010

I've recently received my refurbished March 2009 Mac Mini. I want to use it as a media center and have an harmony remote that I would like to use to control it (mostly for boxee). My problem is that I can't seem to find a way to pair my remote with it. Let me explain.

So I launched Logitech Harmony Remote Software and added a new device, the Apple Mac Mini. I then updated my remote and finally updated my remote. Now, I have a macbook pro and a mac mini. Without pairing anything, I can effectively control the sound on my macbook pro, but not on my Mac Mini. Yes I've checked in the system pref in both machines, nothing is paired and I do not have a real apple remote.

If I use the pair function, it does pair with my macbook pro and keep controlling it and still does nothing on the mac mini (expected). If I unpair it then close my macbook pro and use the pair function near my mac mini, it still do not want to pair.My question is, aside from bringing it to the apple store to get it checked, is there a way to test if my IR port is working on my mac mini?
