ProI bought a bluetooth speaker called Monster iClarity and it works magically with my iPhone, but I tried pairing it with my macbook, and won't.
I have two MacBook Pros, each about 6 months old. They are both running the latest version of Lion. Neither one will pair with any bluetooth device. I always get an error message saying "this device does not have the necessary services".I have a Canon printer that won't pair, and I thougth it was just a compatibility issue until I tried to pair a Jawbone Jambox (which used to pair), and a brand new Bose portable speaker. I get the same message every time.

when my macbook discovers my iphone and i pair them via the numerical code i get a message saying tht the macbook is not supported. iPhone is a 4S and the MacBook is MacBook Pro 15' only a week old running OS X Lion 10.7.3

Every time I try to "discover" my new MBP with the Apple bluetooth keyboard, to wake the laptop up from sleep, it fails and I have to go through the process of setting up a bluetooth device. However the pairing takes forever, sometimes doesn't work at all, and I have to type in a new pairing code each time. The whole process takes between 3 and 20 minutes, depending on how quickly the MBP can find the keyboard. I have the same problem with both Apple wireless keyboards at work and home, so it's not the keyboard.
View 4 Replies View RelatedHow is it that Apple didn't fix this? I have all the current software and hardware and there is no way that Apple didn't foresee people wanting to use applications to sync and work across platforms with their $3000 investment in Apple products.

The tower speaker just doesn't cut it and I want to hook up my 5.1 Locitech speaker system. I couldn't find any Mac sound cards on newegg and am having trouble finding results anywhere else. What card is recommended by most Mac Pro users? My professions isn't in audio so it doesn't have to be perfect, just something to play games, music, and movies.

We want to buy the bluetooth Apple keyboard, but we are wondering if it's possible to pair 1 keyboard to 2 Macs. Is it as simple as turning bluetooth off on the Mac that's not using the bluetooth keyboard at the time? Or would we have to set up and go through the process of pairing them every time it needs to be connected to the other Mac?
I just got a new Apple Bluetooth keyboard and it will not pair with my iBook. When I use the Bluetooth Setup Assistant, it sees the keyboard, and then asks me to type the passcode. I type it, hit the Return key, and it just sits there forever. I didn't have an issue pairing the keyboard with my new Mac Pro. What am I doing wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently own one of the first iMacs built in 2006 that were originally built for the education sector. This model doesn't have a Bluetooth card so obviously I can't use any wireless peripherals with it. Â But my question is whether I can use my iPhone 4 as a substitute. Is there any way to pair the iPhone with my iMac and use it as a Bluetooth access point?I'm planning on getting a Magic Trackpad for it and I don't really want to buy an adapter if I can somehow do this.Â

I am running Lion 10.7.4 presently on my MacBook Pro and will also be upgrading to Mountain when it is released. If I have external Bluetooth speakers like the Panasonic HC57's, can I go into System Preferences and choose them as my output speakers?

I just purchased a Bose SoundLink Mini bluetooth speaker. It pairs up and connects fine with both my iPad Mini and Macbook Pro. The sound quality is excellent on playback from iTunes on the iPad Mini, however when I connect with the Macbook Pro....I am getting terrible popping and cracking sounds. I am using Lion 10.7.5 on the Macbook Pro. Wondering if it must be some issue with the operating system since I DON'T have the problem when I play audio from the iPad Mini.

I have an external bluetooth speaker from jawbone called jambox. From the start on I had the normal speaker volume like I also stil have it if I connected the bluetooth speaker with my iPod touch. But some day ago, the volume from my whole Mac (not just from iTunes) dropped through my Jawbone. It is not just about 40% of that, what I know of, that the Jawbone Jambox is able to bring. This problem exists through all audio / video programs on my Macbook Pro. So like in iTunes, also in VLC or MplayerX. Everywhere. The software sound of MacOS Lion is on maximum. Also the sound control of the jambox itself is reached. It seems like there is a protection against to high volume anywhere turned on which just do not allow me to turn up the volume beyond a specifc point of db. But, I can only repeat: The speaker is in a good shape. I am able to play music much more louder with my iPod paired. But just not with my macbook. I am looking for a "hidden" option to disable the maximum volume limitation of my Mac to the speaker.Â

I have noticed a fair amount of interference/white noise coming from my speakers whenever I touch/scroll on my Magic Trackpad. If I use the Magic Mouse it does the same thing, so has to be related to bluetooth.

Ok so my iMac g3 has a left speaker that doesn't work. The right one works fine and when I turn the volume up the left speaker kind of buzzes. Is it even worth replacing the internal speaker? (IIRC it looks pretty difficult)

so just like the title says I'm having some trouble as I did a recent upgrade to snow leopard and I have been beach balling a lot. I read that I should do a fresh install and heres where I ran into problems. My external HD is not appearing in finder. It used to work just fine before and it works fine on all of my roommates macs. I tried rebooting to see if it would fix the problem and all that happened was it made my bluetooth module say it was unavailable. Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Its very noticeable when you play around in your balance settings (max left or max right) that the volumes are different.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 2.1 Logitech Z4 setup, and the sound is only coming out of the left speaker. I have checked the wires, they are fine, and both speakers do work - but it could be the socket that's the problem. It's plugged into the line-in socket, I have put the output in System Preferences to Headphones, and everything is inserted correctly.
What do I do?
EDIT: My sound system is plugged into the headphones jack. I have tried putting headphones into the headphone jack and the sound also only comes out of the left earbud.
