Sep 2, 2010I've been noticing some weird issues lately. For no reason at all, my mouse pointer icon will start moving all over and click on random windows or icons. I'm quite sure the mouse is fine (clean, surface is clean), but it seems like it is lagging behind. For instance, if I goto open up a new window, nothing will happen. Then If I click elsewhere nothing will happen. Then all of a sudden the mouse icon will move all over the place.
My second issue is (and these are both hard to communicate via a message board) I'm starting to notice the images, windows, icons are starting to pixelate or look distorted on my screen. One minute whatever is on my screen will look fine, the next minute everything looks all jumbled up and pixelated.

MacBook :: Firmware Update - Keyboard / Mouse Not Respond
Dec 30, 2008I recently installed the firmware update for my MacBook and when I restarted the keyboard and mouse were both unresponsive. Even my USB wireless mouse wouldn't work. I am probably going to take it into an Apple Store tomorrow. Oh, and also I booted Windows and my trackpad and keyboard are working fine (How I'm writing this now). Being the retard I am I guess I might have held the power button down. I tried taking the battery out and holding the power key for 10 secs - no use. I tried turning the MacBook on and holding down select+command+P+R (constant boot) - no use.

Aug 30, 2009I have late 2007 Mac mini and I have Snow Leopard installed and I was simply watching a Youtube video and then all of a sudden the entire system freezes (couldn't move the mouse) or anything and started choking on the audio (replaying a bit over and over)... had to manually power it off. The hard drive was replaced several months ago at the Apple Store... so I doubt it's the HD. The Mini is back on now of course... it's running fine, but I've never seen anything like that before. Anyone else ever have this issue?

I basically want the magic mouse to automatically connect to the macbook pro when I plug the MacBook into the iMac as an external display. Obviously then I need it to disconnect from the iMac (because apparently you can only pair with one thing w/ bluetooth). I realize you can go thru the tedious steps of disconnecting from the iMac and then reconnecting to the MacBook every time, but its a pain, and honestly I can't figure out how to reconnect to the iMac if the mouse is disconnected (ie I can't move the mouse to the bluetooth icon on the iMac if it's disconnected, I hope that makes sense).

Jul 31, 2010I am having the problem of my iMac freeszing and becoming unresponsive. I can move my mouse curser around the screen, but nothing is responsive. Tried a force quit using the keyboard but that doesn't work either.
I have to power my iMac on then off to restart.
I think it may have something to do when I launch iTunes, and I am using CPU intensive applications? This problem has occured recently when i have been watching YouTube videos, then launched iTunes. Also on another occasion when using Ableton Live, then launched iTunes.
When my iMac reboots after the freeze, and launch iTunes for the first time the "Checking iTunes Library" dialogue box appears and takes a while to load before iTunes launches. My iTunes Library is quite large, 55GB.
Anybody got any trouble shooting advice? I know the console app shows errors but am not very sure what to look for.
I'm running 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2.1.
Power Mac G5 :: LCD Monitor Image Slightly Blurry And Shifting By One Pixel On Mouse Move
Nov 4, 2007I have a Dual 2GHz PowerPC with the stock video card (ATI Radeon 9600 Pro) and have had a Dell 2405FPW monitor connected to it via DVI cable and it has worked flawlessly for a couple of years... until this week.
Now the image seems to be "off" by about one or two pixels. Just a bit blurry here and there and when I move the mouse across the screen, the entire screen image seems to shift a little bit.
I've tried power cycling, re-connecting the cable, unplugging everything, resetting the monitor settings in the control panel, factory-reset of the LCD settings..

Apr 13, 2009I bought a Mac Pro last September, and I've had a run around of temperamental mighty mouse. Or so I thought. The one it came with I plugged in and it clicked like a mad demon, button 4 was basically useless as the slightest touch would trigger it. I had a Mighty Mouse that I owned before that I switched it out for, and the problem seemed to go away.
But it came back, and much worse this time. I unplugged the mouse to use it on my Macbook, and when I plugged it back into the MP the clicking went berserk again. This time I took it to the Apple Store to get it replaced. The genius plugged it into his Macbook at the desk, and it worked fine; no sporadic clicking at all. I assured him it did it like crazy and asked for a new mouse, which he replaced. He then threw out that it's probably not the physical mouse that's the problem, but rather the software in my Mac Pro. That kind of baffled me, but I had my new mouse and I was happy......................

Dec 3, 2009I just bought the latest macbook pro. It is actually my first mac so I'm not really sure if this is supposed to happen. But I tried plugging in my "ordinary pc" (meant to say that is not a Mac mouse) mouse which is an A4Tech brand. It's working when I move the mouse in huge spaces. It goes smoothly that way. But when I try to move it in small little spaces, it's kind of like not going smoothly. Especially when I'm working on small details like Photoshop, it's kind of difficult to maneuver the mouse arrow. I tried other "pc" mouse as well but it's just the same.. Does this really happen if I'm not using Mac's mouse? How do I fix this?

Apr 20, 2009I just upgraded from a MBA rev A to a rev B. I experienced this with both machines, so it's not just a rev A issue...
I use a Bluetooth Mighty Mouse and everything is fine... until my hourly wireless Time Machine backup starts. Then the mouse cursor becomes very choppy and sluggish. As soon as the hourly backup completes, the mouse's responsiveness returns to normal. Throughout all this, the trackpad is just as responsive as always -- no change there. I don't have another bluetooth mouse to see if its just the Mighty Mouse.
When this happens, the Activity Monitor is not spiked. The fans aren't running loud (so I don't expect its an overheating issue). This doesn't happen during a large wireless download -- just Time Machine. It's not a big deal, but rather an annoyance.
Any ideas why? Or even more to the point, any ideas on how to fix it?
MacBook :: Mouse Wheel Speed Unaffected By Mouse Preferences
Jun 11, 2009I'm using a Logitech MX 518 mouse. It was working fine with the exception of the two side buttons; they weren't set up the way I liked and the mouse control panel did not let me change them. I installed some Logitech drivers (lcc213) that were supposed to support the mouse; upon reinstalling the mouse was not recognized by the Logitech software. The scroll wheel became very sluggish (maybe scrolling one line, and seemingly no acceleration). I removed the Logitech software and restarted, but now my mouse is stuck that way - moving the scroll speed in the Mouse preferences all the way to the left or all the way to the right makes no difference.
Is there any way to reset the mouse drivers or whatever might be messed up, short of a reinstall?
I even tried to use USB Overdrive and that likewise has no effect on the scroll speed.
