I just turned on my new 27" iMac and can't seem to get the mouse to go any faster. I've got it turned up all the way on the tracking speed. This display is huge and I don't like having to pick up the mouse just so I can get to the other side of the screen.

ive set things up to the maximum in system preferences for the mouse , but to me its still slow moving.
I Seem to have a problem recently on my 27" iMac with the razer Naga Gaming Mouse. I installed all drivers from RazerZone. Each time I start my iMac my razer naga doesn't track, all the mouse buttons work but it just doesn't track, its really weird because I have been using this mouse for a month now and never got this problem until I think I started to put my IMac to sleep.

I have late 2007 Mac mini and I have Snow Leopard installed and I was simply watching a Youtube video and then all of a sudden the entire system freezes (couldn't move the mouse) or anything and started choking on the audio (replaying a bit over and over)... had to manually power it off. The hard drive was replaced several months ago at the Apple Store... so I doubt it's the HD. The Mini is back on now of course... it's running fine, but I've never seen anything like that before. Anyone else ever have this issue?

I basically want the magic mouse to automatically connect to the macbook pro when I plug the MacBook into the iMac as an external display. Obviously then I need it to disconnect from the iMac (because apparently you can only pair with one thing w/ bluetooth). I realize you can go thru the tedious steps of disconnecting from the iMac and then reconnecting to the MacBook every time, but its a pain, and honestly I can't figure out how to reconnect to the iMac if the mouse is disconnected (ie I can't move the mouse to the bluetooth icon on the iMac if it's disconnected, I hope that makes sense).

I am having the problem of my iMac freeszing and becoming unresponsive. I can move my mouse curser around the screen, but nothing is responsive. Tried a force quit using the keyboard but that doesn't work either.
I have to power my iMac on then off to restart.
I think it may have something to do when I launch iTunes, and I am using CPU intensive applications? This problem has occured recently when i have been watching YouTube videos, then launched iTunes. Also on another occasion when using Ableton Live, then launched iTunes.
When my iMac reboots after the freeze, and launch iTunes for the first time the "Checking iTunes Library" dialogue box appears and takes a while to load before iTunes launches. My iTunes Library is quite large, 55GB.
Anybody got any trouble shooting advice? I know the console app shows errors but am not very sure what to look for.
I'm running 10.6.4 and iTunes 9.2.1.
My delete key seems to delete very slowly. Is there any way to speed up the rate in which it deletes when I hold it down?

But when i was done i forgot that i wanted to put them in a separate collection. what can i do to move them over to a separate collection with out moving them one by one. there is about 2000 of them and that will take a long time to move. i have tried to jest drag the file to the new collection but that does nothing. is there any thing i can do to make this go faster. i know i can jest go and delete them out of my user but there is a lot of ether fonts i have put in there also. what if i trashed my hole font folder in my home folder and restored it with a TM one.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought my Macbook Pro less than a year ago and the other night I was watching a TV show in itunes and I couldn't use the track pad. I was able to finally shut the Macbook down and the next morning I rebooted it. It was still acting weird and the trackpad was jumpy and would randomly start opening windows and menus as if someone was contriolling it remotely. I used my bluetooth mouse and it seemed to work ok until tonight when I was copying some files wirelessly (or trying to) and evey time I tried to select files the cursor would jump to another screen and open a menu and then select all and open all my file folders. I was able to get that to stop openin ght ewindows but I still can't use the track pad and the machine acts like it is possesed and has a mind of it's own. I have made sure file saring and screen sharing are off and the battery shows to be normal from doing the control+battery test.

I'd like to be able to hook a mouse up to Macbook Air and have it scroll properly, without breaking the scroll direction on its trackpad (or my magic pad). In other words, I want to disable "Move content in the direction of finger movement when scrolling" for mice, and enable "Scroll direction: natural" for trackpads. These seem to be the same setting, though, as checking/unchecking one has the same effect on the other.
How can I do this, as I'd love to be able to easily switch to a mouse, without having to mentally reverse the direction of the scroll wheel.

Does anyone own or have used the Wacom Bamboo track pad as an alterative to a Magic Mouse or trackball?I checked out the Magic Mouse and did not like it but could probably get used to it, the Apple keyboard I could never get used to and would keep my old clunky keyboard that I am used to using since forever.
Have been using a Kensington trackball for the last 10 years, not the same one , but it finially gave up the ghost and thought the new mouse could replace it but I don't think so. This Bamboo trackpad does look interesting though but is a little an the large side.[URL]
When I start up my 2010 Macbook Pro now, the fan starts running as soon as the spinning gear appears below the apple logo, the boot up is insanely slow, the mouse doesn't track well with my trackpad movements, and trying to open programs often leads to a non-responsive program with the pinwheel of death spinning for minutes at a time. I try to shut it down (takes approx. 20 min. now) and when the screen goes black, the fan continues full blast. After that I can boot up the computer and it runs normally, but the whole process takes about 50 minutes longer than it should, especially with a relatively new SSD (~ 8 months old).
It loads well enough in safe boot, and I've tried cutting out most of the apps that launch at startup with poor results. I've also tried resetting the SMC with equally poor results.

Those same people said that the upgrade -- expected to retail for the same $79.99 price as its predecessor -- will also feature Windows boot times that are roughly two times faster than version 3.1 of its primary competitor: VMWare Fusion.
VMware and Parallels have gone head to head in the virtualization market since 2008, when the Fusion product was first introduced. Parallels has existed since 2006, and both products retail for an identical prices. In a recent study, Parallels 5 was already found to be 30 percent faster on average than VMware Fusion 3.
Parallels 6 is also expected to showcase tighter integration with its users' natural environment, adopting support for the Mac OS X's keyboard shortcuts, Spotlight search engine, and Expose windows management features. My father owns one of the original G5s, so its power pc not intel. Today while browsing an excel spreadsheet he says part of the screen turned black, then the monitor shut off, then the monitor came back on but not video. Mean while the fans started spinning out of control. Now when he tries to turn it on, he gets power, but all that happens is the fans spinning faster and faster and faster until he turns it off. No video or anything. Just speeding fans. He fears the CPUs died since they control the fans. Any suggestions? He also says the fans were spinning unusually fast these last few days.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been noticing some weird issues lately. For no reason at all, my mouse pointer icon will start moving all over and click on random windows or icons. I'm quite sure the mouse is fine (clean, surface is clean), but it seems like it is lagging behind. For instance, if I goto open up a new window, nothing will happen. Then If I click elsewhere nothing will happen. Then all of a sudden the mouse icon will move all over the place.
My second issue is (and these are both hard to communicate via a message board) I'm starting to notice the images, windows, icons are starting to pixelate or look distorted on my screen. One minute whatever is on my screen will look fine, the next minute everything looks all jumbled up and pixelated.
