Mac Pro :: Update / Replace Mouse Drivers?

Apr 13, 2009

I bought a Mac Pro last September, and I've had a run around of temperamental mighty mouse. Or so I thought. The one it came with I plugged in and it clicked like a mad demon, button 4 was basically useless as the slightest touch would trigger it. I had a Mighty Mouse that I owned before that I switched it out for, and the problem seemed to go away.

But it came back, and much worse this time. I unplugged the mouse to use it on my Macbook, and when I plugged it back into the MP the clicking went berserk again. This time I took it to the Apple Store to get it replaced. The genius plugged it into his Macbook at the desk, and it worked fine; no sporadic clicking at all. I assured him it did it like crazy and asked for a new mouse, which he replaced. He then threw out that it's probably not the physical mouse that's the problem, but rather the software in my Mac Pro. That kind of baffled me, but I had my new mouse and I was happy......................

Hardware :: Apple Replace Mighty Mouse For Service?

Aug 22, 2010

I just recently submitted a service request for my Apple Mighty Mouse, which despite all attempts at cleaning still refuses to scroll down. A hold was put on my account in the amount of $69 for the new mouse, until I return the old of course. Does this mean that Apple is going to replace my mighty wireless mouse with a Magic Mouse? The Mighty "Mice" are no longer available for purchase in the Apple store, not even in the refurbished section. I sure hope that they do...but I was wondering if anyone else has recently sent in their old mouse and what you got back.

Hardware :: Corded Mouse With OS X Drivers

Jun 14, 2009

I'm looking for a corded mouse to replace my cordless Logitech MX Revolution. I'd like something similar, but corded, and with OS X native drivers so I don't have to use steermouse/usboverdrive/etc. I like having the side buttons assignable, if that can be done with an OS X native driver. If not, I could still use steermouse, but I'd rather not. I've had the mighty mouse (yuck), Razer Pro Click which was decent, and the MX Revolution.

Applications :: BOOT-CAMP Mouse And Keyboard Drivers?

Nov 27, 2009

I seem to be having problems syncing up the mouse and keyboard on the new iMac with boot-camp. For some reason the keyboard is not working at all, and reinstalling boot-camp drivers does nothing. The mouse is recognised however scrolling does not work.

I had this problem before and downloaded microsoft sidewinder mouse. This solved the problem before, but now it doesn't do anything.

I was wondering if anybody knows exactly what the drivers are called for the keyboard and mouse, and how to get the mouse scrolling working? Also once I get the keyboard synced, how do I change the settings so that (for example) the volume controls work.

This is really confusing me, because I'm pretty sure when I installed Windows the scrolling WAS working, but then when I went back to it (admittedly after linking the formatted drive with Parallels) it simply doesn't work properly.

IMac :: Windows 7 Working With All Drivers (video Audio Magic Mouse)

Dec 3, 2009

I managed to successfully install windows 7 32 bit on the imac with all drivers. I thought I should post this as I couldn't find any information on how to install the audio drivers, and how to get the magic mouse scrolling functions to work.

Here is how I got everything installed.

For all files you use before installing them you must right click on them then properties then compatibility,

check the run this program in compatibility mode for windows vista service pack 2

For video nvidia
install bootcamp/drivers/nvidia/nvidiagraphicsmobilevista32/setup.exe

For audio
install bootcamp/drivers/cirrus/cirrusaudiovista32.exe

For chipset drivers
install bootcamp/drivers/nvidia/nvidiachipsetvista32/setup.exe

Install all the software/drivers that is in bootcamp/drivers/apple BUT if you are using windows 7
NOT THE FOLLOWING BOOTCAMP.msi because your oamputer will freeze

For the bluetooth download and install the drivers from [URL]

Or trust that Apple will update drivers when they feel the need. BTW, I'm not having video issues on the OS X, but just wondering.

I'm still running Tiger OS and the beta bootcamp on wich I installed XP, SP3. I can imagine that my drivers are hopelessly outdated, with the exception of Nvidia drivers. My Question: Can I just upgrade my currect XP drivers to bootcamp 3.0? If so, what is the correct procedure for it? I can't find any conclusive information on that through forums and google.

I am probably going to take it into an Apple Store tomorrow. Oh, and also I booted Windows and my trackpad and keyboard are working fine (How I'm writing this now). I tried turning the MacBook on and holding down select+command+P+R (constant boot) - no use.

Windows On Mac :: IBoot Camp 3.0 ATI Drivers - Try Windows Update Instead ?

Sep 2, 2009

I'm not convinced that the drivers that Apple provides, even if they come from the hardware manufacturers, are as good as they could be. The reason why I say this is that, prior to installing Snow Leopard and Boot Camp 3.0, I had been playing Dawn of War 2 on an ageing MacBook Pro with an ATI X1600 chipset under Windows 7. What I found odd was that after I had reinstalled Windows 7 and used the Snow Leopard DVD to install the Boot Camp 3.0 drivers was that Dawn Of War started to complain that my display drivers were incompatible with the game. Figuring that I hadn't had this problem before I uninstalled the display drivers Apple provided (from ATI) via the Device Manager, restarted Windows and let Windows Update find drivers instead (again, from ATI). This seems to have sorted out the problem.

If you are having problems with drivers then perhaps letting Windows Update try to find them may be the answer as this seems to have worked in my case.
