Sep 29, 2010
is there any software out there that will allow my MBP 15" to be a HD tuner?i have an MDP/HDMI converter and i want to use that to play my xbox360 on my MBP is that a possibility?
I just bought Samsung UN46C7000WFXZA. I want to connect my macbook pro to the TV and i got all the cables that i need.
1- HDMI cable 2- Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Female Adapter. 3- this sit that include Audio Cable
[URL] I did connect everything my macbook pro very well to the TV using HDMI cable from the laptop to HDMI/DVI port in the TV. Also I connected the Audio cable from my Headphone port in my laptop to PC/DVI Audio IN in the TV. Yes I got the pic and everything is good but no sound at all. I tried everything and i searched the net but no luck or answer at all.
if i buy the mini display port to dvi adapter, could i use it with a dvi to hdmi cable for my monitor. This is because the dvi and vga ports are already taken up.
So i bought a mini display port to hdmi converter and im running an hdmi to RCA cable from to my tv. I dont really know how to set it up to put out the video. I went into displays and clicked detect displays and nothing showed up and theres nothing but a blue screen on my tv.
I have a VGA connection to my monitor from my Macbook currently cause I had a mini-dvi to vga adapter conveniently. But I heard DVI will be better, so I was looking to get another adapter. Should get a Mini-DVI to DVI or Mini-DVI to HDMI? Would that produce the same picture cause they are both digital? I don't plan on connecting to any other diplays or tv's but would one be more versatile than the other? Oh, and I saw that Apple doesn't make a HDMI adapter, is there a reason why not? I saw it on eBay so it made me curious. I've searched this topic, but I didn't see a thread that answered my questions.
I have a nice new TV with an HDMI input and a nice Macbook with Front Row. If I use a cable to convert the Macbook's DVI to HDMI, how will I get audio to the TV (given that audio would normally be on the HDMI cable)?
I was wondering how what cable/s I need to connect my mbp mid 2009 to the tv. I want to connect it via HDMI, I can't find any cable in the apple store for mini dvi to HDMI, is that even possible? What cables do I need to connect the mbp to the tv with HDMI?
I have an adapter for this, but when connecting my MBA to a new TV via HDMI, the TV screen shows my 'Mission Control' with relevant windows open, but not the content of those windows, such as a video playing in Safari. When I select the Safari window, the TV just shows the grey background same as Mission Control default?
Today I bought a cable that was supposed to go from the dv port on my MacBook to HDMI, but when I got it home I found it to be a mini dv plug, smaller than the port on my '08 MacBook. Nobody seems to stock cables that fit this larger dv port; I tried Maplin, PC World, Curry's, no luck. An adaptor to VGA, or straight to HDMI, either is fine.
I've been using an HDMI cable to connect my macbook pro to a LG TV. I haven't used it in couple of weeks, the cable seems fine but when I connect it to the TV it says NO SIGNAL. Any help? I've tried restarting the computer, turning it off and back on with the cable plugged...
I bought an iMac a couple of years ago and liked it so much I bought a Macbook Pro a week or so ago. I downloaded a tv series from iTunes last night and took the adapter from the iMac and hooked up the Macbook to the tv to watch the show> Well the show plays on the laptop monitor, but the only thing that shows up on the tv is the wallpaper that comes installed on the Macbook (the galaxy thing).

I have a MacBook Pro and a HDMI cable which once did work, but no longer. Did software change, did my luck run out? What can I do to make HDMI cable work again?
I have a new Macbook Pro, and currently have it connected to a 22" Insignia 1080p TV. The setup is a minidisplay to DVI adapter, and a DVI to HDMI cable plugged into the adapter and the TV. My trouble is that the TV is displaying a "No Signal" message now, after working perfectly fine this afternoon. Any hints or suggestions? I've tried rebooting, plugging in the cable before and after starting up the computer, and all HDMI ports on the TV. Again, I had the exact same setup this afternoon, and it worked beautifully, but now it refuses to.
I currently use an LCD TV to play movies from my Macbook Pro via the MiniDVI - HDMI cable. At the moment I just connect everything up and then use the Mirror Display in the arrangement settings. So my laptop screen is the same as my LCD TV screen. What I want to be able to do though is watch the movie on the LCD TV and also use the laptop to go on the internet, is this possible?
I have a MiniDisplay Port to HDMI adapter, which I plug into HDMI-DVI adapter, which goes into DVI-VGA adapter to which I have connected VGA cable from LG LCD screen. MBP recognizes the external LCD LG screen fine, but the LG doesn't show any picture. I also tried with one other external VGA LCD screen. Same thing, no picture. I know 100% that VGA cable, VGA-DVI adapter and MiniDisplay Port-HDMI adapter all work. I cannot test the HDMI-DVI adapter anywhere though. Could it be the problem? Or is just that it's too many adapters?
I bought the MDP to HDMI connector about a week ago, and yesterday I received my Asus VH242H LCD. Everything is just perfect. The monitor snapped to 1920x1080 on hook up, I moved the menu bar and dock to the 24" display and it's just beautiful. The Asus has some built in speakers, nothing special, but perfectly fine for Youtube and iMovie creations... I'm using a standard audio cable, since HDMI won't send the audio yet, hopefully it will later. Just thought I'd let everyone know that is considering a Asus LCD, I was very impressed. No dead pixels, very little backlight bleed that I can see, and the colors are perfect, then again, I'm not a photographer/photoshop guy.
I've googled it without any luck, I need it to passthrough Video along with Audio, all in only one single cable, and also to get DTS-MA, Dolby TrueHD... (if available) and those signals that cannot be transmitted through an optical output jack.
I have a late 2009 13.3" MacBook, and I want to use my tv as a monitor but I wasn't looking to have 3 adapters to make it possible so I was hoping to have the Mini DVI to HDMI cable. Well newegg said this cable was what I wanted so I bought it for $20 and of course it isn't what i want at all. Where can I find the cable I want?
Can anyone please confirm that audio is transmitted over the MDP and comes out of an HDMI adapter to a TV or A/V receiver on the new MBPs? A bonus would be to know that 5.1 and/or TrueHD/DTS HD-MA (from a Blu-Ray MKV created using MakeMKV) makes it out of MDP to an A/V receiver via HDMI. It would be great to get confirmation of this on the 13" and the 15"/17" before I decide whether to order.
I'm gonna get the new MBP 13" really soon, and I'll need the Mini DisplayPort to VGA and to HDMI cables. Where, besides Apple Store, should I get these cables?
i just bought a DVI to HDMI cable, to plug my macbook pro to my big samsung tv. I successfully connected them to eachother, but there was only 1 problem which ruins the whole experience. There are weird fuzzy colours all around the screen and is almost impossible to see anything.
Here you can see the DVI cable plugged in the MBP:
And on the tv screen everything looks messed up:
this is a brand new cable so i don't think it would be the problem, im only afraid maybe my DVI input would be broken.
Im wondering that ever since that new thunderbolt port has come out on the newest macbook, would connecting an HDMI adapter in the port still work for the newest model?
I want to connect my MBP Mid 2011 to my HDMI TV. My MBP only has the Thunderbolt Port and I am struggling to understand what type of connection cable I require.[URL]

I am trying to connect my Mac Book Pro to HD tv with a HDMI cable. I bought the cable at the apple store. When I plug it in and I turn tv to HDMI, the screen on my laptop turns blue for a few seconds and then returns to home screen. How do I get my computer to show up on my tv?
When I connect my macbook air to my television with a HDMI and minijack I get no sound ... Why is that? Other computers (including macs) work with my television that way.
I am going to buy a Mac Book Pro 13 inch 2.8 ghz. I was wondering if there is a way to get my mac to hook up to 24 tv's. I use them as mointors.
They both have HDMI and VGA/sound. I noticed that apple said that the MBP could only hook up with 1 thunderbolt on the second the mbpro would go dark. But I was hoping to work around that. I found this device on the internet: [URL] I was wondering if it would work so I could have My email up on my macbook pro and on tv 1 have safari up and on the second tv have itunes up? I do not want them to mirror! I want them to both extend my display!
I have a new Toshiba TV (40L5200U) that will recognize HDMI input from an IPad, but not from a MacBook Pro (running 10.6.8). I'm connecting through a Rocketfish Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter (RF-AP305), but the TV says "no video signal." Display Preferences shows 1024x768, which the TV user guide lists as an acceptable input (XGA), but when I detect displays the computer doesn't recognize the TV. I can't see an Arrangements tab. The computer does give output through this port to a VGA adapter for a projector.
