View 2 RepliesI recently got a copy of Windows 7 Professional from my job. I installed it on a 32gig partition on my 320gb Macbook Pro 13". But I'm wondering why I need it? When Starcraft 2 comes out I'm just going to buy the Mac version. Why do you have it installed?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI bought my first Mac, a C2D MBP 13". I really love the machine. But I'm experiencing this particular issue of having high cpu load of up to 80% while on W7 Professional bootcamp even though I'm not running any graphic intensive programs.
Specs: 2.4Ghz MBP 13" (The recently refreshed model)
Windows 7 Professional 32bit (MSDNA Edition)
Upon successful installation of W7, I inserted the OS X disc inside and the bootcamp drivers installed successfully. So I'm quite sure the drivers are okay. Being a DotA lover, I installed WC3 on my bootcamp. However, I realise that whenenver I'm on windows mode, the machine is very laggy. I even have problem opening a browser when I alt tab out from WC3. Is this normal? Even when idle, the cpu load on the processor jumps from 1% to 47% randomly. Just fluctuates randomly. I'm quite sure my Windows Security Essentials is not doing any scan btw.
I'm sure I'll get attacked from this or told to go buy a Mac, but I am curious if there is a way to run a Mac on my Windows machine. Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40 GHz 6.00 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro
i saw a page earlier which listed what courses Apple offers and i was wondering if there are any in australia, victoria, that i could enroll in? how do i find what institutions offer these courses and what type of workplaces look for people with these qualifications? once they're completed, do i receive some type of piece of paper that i could frame?Â

I'm looking for a system that can track about 50 MBP's providing both remote wipe as part of an overall security protocol, and also remote screen/desktop for admin purposes. I looked at preyproject.com but it looks like they only do remote wiping/tracking. that I don't want something locked to a single user, it should be centrally managed.Â

I am going to look for some legitimate, used software, but want to buy the right version. Version 6 says it will requires 10.2.2. Would that run on 4, and maybe 5?

anyone have any experience with the "new" dell professional display line? they come in 20, 22, and 23 inch displays.
I am wondering if this is a good display
I shoot about 40 weddings per year. (2500-3000 images per week). I am currently working off a 2 x2.66 Dual Core MacPro with 11GB of memory. I use Aperture and a bit of Final Cut Pro.I need the MacPro for storage issues related to iTunes and photo libraries so I have ruled out an iMac. My question is, when will I cross the "overkill" line. I don't spend my days doing intensive 3D render outputs of math computations so I know a 12 core is "too much".

So am I suppose to add the Service, the RAM, and the Hard Drive to my basket and it knows what to do? When I get the box, do I go to a local FedEx facility to send it back? Is there anything else I need to know? I need advice from people who have sent in there Macs to OWC. Sorry if I sound like a noob, I am new to Macs and just wondering how the service works.

Palo Alto Software has a great set of products but only for Windows.
So I just finished installing Windows 7 Professional 64bit via boot camp, but I had an issue when I put in the 10.6 disc to get the Drivers for everything. I'm running the 2.4Ghz Aluminum MacBook (not the pro). When I try to run the disc, it says that x64 is not supported on this machine. Am I boned? Or are there other options, because I really don't want to buy 32bit, because my school provides 64bit for free. I'm just looking for the drivers for the iSight, trackpad functions, and the keyboard functions (volume, iTunes, etc).
View 5 Replies View RelatedIts been a little while since I moved into Mac and until now I've still been using basic windows-like programs. Now its time to use the power of Mac and the well promoted programs for media and making movies as I have an idea in my mind. Only I've never used before and I don't know which one is professional. I want a highly capable movie editor, to make a professional movie like on Discovery Channel they do. To be able to apply effects (fade in, out, etc).
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for a professional grade video conversion software that can convert Quicktime (.mov) files to HTML5 video formats such as Ogg Theora and WebM. There are tons of free ones but I haven't found one that does a very good job. I've tried Bigasoft's converters but I'm a bit disappointed with their very basic quality settings. I'd like to have more control over parameters such as bitrates, variable passes, etc.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi used to run these speakers thru my old laptop..which was a HP and they worked perfectly..good base and surround sound..but now that i hooked them up to my macbook..they suck..the sound comes out tinny and just really crappy. i looked in the sound preferences on this computer..but all i can do is move the sound from left to right. is there something i need to buy? the plugs on the end of the logitech system are green black and peachy kinda. then it has a splitter box connected to it..which has a red and white port..then that just goes into the laptop thru the normal black av part of the cable.

Everytime I try and use the "Mini Boombox", there is always an issue and a complete waste of time setting up. It seems I have to pair every single time, turn on and off a few times and only then will the boombox sometimes work. I'm not sure if I have a bad unit or my setting are incorrect.I keep my BB plugged in all the time therefore is always fully charged.Do we really need to pair every single time we turn on and off computer and/or Boombox?

I've got a Logitech K260 wireless keyboard, and it has some media buttons on it (including a calculator, internet and email shortcut). So far, out of the box, the volume buttons, the play button and the power button work fine. All other media keys don't work, and I'm not really sure how to map them to commands. Also, I'd like to add that next track is labeled as the alternative to "End" and the previous track is "home" (i.e. you'd expect to press shift+end and get to the next track), but this doesn't work either. I've tried installing the Logitech Control Center, but no luck.

does anyone currently use a Logitech Bluetooth MX900 (optical) with their MBP? I can configure the buttons fine, have no connection issues etc. But the pointer movement is quite jerky. It seems acceptable when swinging it about the screen. But when trying to do accurate tasks like click on a small button, it feels as if it is dragging. I have the tracking speed almost maxed out but reducing it doesn't really affect the dragging sensation, although it does smooth out the jerky movement. I've tried another cheap USB optical mouse but it's the same, jerky situation. I also tried a mouse mat but this hasn't helped either.
I'm assuming this is to do with lack of Logitech OS X support - The mouse works flawlessly under windows, however I think I remember a similar issue with Ubuntu. I'm baffled why the generic USB mouse was no different tho!? Is this just general OS X mouse acceleration?
Just bought a bluetooth logitech mouse (V470). It's cool and fair for what I paid, no complains there. But I got a question about the Bluetooth on Macbooks. I have the Early 2009 model Macbook White. How less is gonna last my battery fully charged with WiFi On and Bluetooth On all time? Obviusly I'm gonna turn off BT when I'm using the trackpad, but just to know.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm looking at getting a MacBook Pro, and hooking it up to my Dell monitor and Logitech speakers when at home. Both the SP/DIF and coax connection on the speakers are free right now, so I need to know what cable I'd have to buy to connect the MacBook Pro to either of these 2 connections? I asked the online chat section of the Apple website, to which they replied they had no such cable, and proceeded to cut me off rather than providing a solution - doesn't exactly fill you with much confidence when buying into a premium product!
Can someone let me know what cable it is I require? It must be capable of producing 5.1 sound on the speakers.
