MacBook Pro :: Downloaded ITunes 9.0.2 And Received Crash On 100 Percent
Nov 1, 2009
Take a look, all occurred right after downloading and installing latest iTunes. Report crash held 100% of CPU for quite some time. Systems Extension error popped up and could not fix under disk utility.
For the past few days my macbook pro (lion 10.7.3) has been overheating and the fan has been going crazy. In my processes, there is one called "report crash" that is consistently using between 50% and 180% of the CPU. I force quit it, but it just comes back straight away. I looked into my logs to see what is causing it and there seems to be a continual launch/crash cycle related to com.apple.midiserver, whatever that is. Does anyone have a clue why the midiserver is fighting to be launched ad infinitum and causing my mac to go berserk?
I saw itunes consuming 12% of cpu when doing nothing! iTunes in my imac and mb keeps at 0%, why the hell this doesn't happen in the powerbook? Version 8 in the three macs.
This error message on my 15" macBook Pro recently appeared and blocks my access to all my music. I have downloaded the itunes updates and still get this message.
I downloaded a song and it will not play. It keeps saying I need to authorize on the computer. I do it and it won't play it and says the same thing. What do I do? Oh and I purchased it on my laptop and it won't play on my laptop or Ipod.
I Downloaded an program / app from itunes. On itunes the app shows 'downloaded'. And itbwas deducted from my bank account. After leaving itines i cant seem to find the app anywhere on my imac. Where do i find it? Is there something i missed?
I have the latest version of Itunes 10.6 and run a Mac Book Pro - suddenly since the update everytime I open iTunes it closes (crashes) and then I get the option to restart - and it just keeps continuing to crash. This means I cannot update any of my devices either.
I have downloaded too much stuff from iTunes - mostly movies and tv shows - , and now my macbook pro and iPad are full. i would like to save tv shows etc locally on an external drive but I dont know how to do it and how to ensure that they will be recoverable. I have purchased some 25GB iCloud in the hope that things would be saved anyway
iTunes has been crashing for months when playing CDs (but it's fine for DVDs and the audio files on iTunes). ppc G5 iMac, 10.5.8. Twice on inserting a CD, again when the CD concludes, and often during playing, or when I try to adjust volume. It did this with a LaCie external drive and now that I've installed a new replacement Toshiba internal superdrive it still does exactly the same thing. After reading about the many bugs with v9.0.1 I obtained v8.0.2, deleted everything to do with iTunes and reinstalled the older version. However, the crashes continue unabated. Have run Disk Warrior, Tech Tools Pro5, reset the hardware pulling the AC plug etc., run Permissions over and over, thrown out prefs files, etc.
I don't usually check my itunes account, but today I actually decided I wanted to buy music. I put a $100 gift card I got from buying a Mac for college in a few months ago, and bought like $9 worth of stuff and just left it idle. It says that about 2 weeks ago there were purchases made to download an app and then some gem **** (in app content) that cost $80 ******* dollars that was bought. I'm not worried about my personal information because i don't use a legitimate adress and only buy gift cards, because I like to live off the apple grid i guess...w/e, WHO DO I EMAIL TO GET THAT MONEY BACK!!!
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Why are iTunes and Safari the two applications I have ever used that are most likely to hang and/or crash? I mean, what's so hard for Apple to make these two very heavily used applications stable?
Recently received an email about a purchase that was 1) a very lage sum and 2) one I had not personally made. I think it may be a scam, as the link for the "Not My Order/Report a Problem" did not work.
Ok so two days ago I downloaded iTunes 10. It downloaded, installed, and then asked to restart. All was going good, but when the computer came back on and I went to open iTunes, it would crash before even opening.
So I thought it was strange, but I kept using my computer like I was before the install, and went to sign on to Skype; crashed. I went to open Safari; flash player crashed. Quicktime, same thing. Chrome and firefox as well.
I have reinstalled my system (via Lion's system restore), reinstalled iTunes, including reseting the library and reimporting media. Same thing. Everything I hit play, or another songs plays at the end of another, the dock & finder relaunches. Everything else is flawless. I have another OS on another drive, for music, which shares the library and it's fine. 10.7.4 OS's & 10.6.3 iTunes.
Info: Mac Pro 2.66Ghz 8-core Nehalem. 20gb/2tb/2tb/2tb/2tb, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Did have Logic Node Macs G5 Dual 2.7Ghz, Dual 1.8, now servers
I had Mavericks previously installed on my iMac mid 2007 and was promoted to upgrade to Yosemite which I did. Now when I try to open iPhoto and it reads unresponsive in red letters on the force quit window. When I select and click force quit computer then freezes. I am however able to open iTunes but when I plug my iPod in computer then freezes.
Recently had operating system crash. When Apple got me back up and running, my library and playlists were gone. Fortunately I have them on my ipad. When I next sync with the new itunes where these songs are not present, will they be lost. Is there some way to "upload" them from my ipad to itunes?
My late 2008 15" MBP 2.8Ghz typically shows a CPU temp above 100 degrees Celsius ~ 216 F when using Handbrake. What is considered a normal operating temperature range? Also Activity Monitor show that Handbrake is using more than 100% of the CPU how is this possible? What does it mean? How can you use more than 100% of the CPU?
The battery on my MBP (2007 2.33 Core 2 Duo) has started to die, just like the three others that came before it. It seems like it's only been a year or so since I got a new battery. Yesterday, I was using it unplugged and the computer shut off when the battery was around 58%. I have never seen a battery shut off that early. The worst I had seen before that was a previous battery that would die around 35%.
A couple questions:
1. Is there something I am doing that is causing my batteries to keep dying so quickly? An Apple Genius told me that keeping the computer plugged in all the time can burn out the battery. I don't really want to bother putting the computer through unnecessary charge cycles to keep up the battery life.
2. Is there any way to recoup some of the lost battery life of my current battery, or is it just dead?
3. In replacing the battery, should I buy another Apple battery from the website, or are there better quality 3rd party MBP batteries?
4. On a side bar, I am thinking about purchasing a new MBP, but I am worried that the battery will have the same problem, and it will be much more of a hassle to fix because everything is internal now. I hate having to hand my computer over to Apple Care for a whole day and be without it.
So I bought a macbook pro 13" about a month ago. I've been running coconut battery tests on it and the battery health is only at 89%. This is super upsetting to me. I went to the apple store and they ran their diagnostic test only to tell me that my battery is within specification, so they wouldn't replace it. The health they calculated was 91%.
What should I do? This seems unfair to me. Coconut battery stats: Battery capacity: 5141 mAh Original battery capacity: 5770 mAh Battery load cycles: 27 Age of your mac: 4 months
I've had my Macbook Pro for just over 2 years and recently bought one of the 2010 models. I'm about to sell my old one but when I downloaded Coconut Battery, I saw that my battery holds a lot less charge than it did when it was new: Have I been doing something wrong or is it just low because the laptop is 2 years old? If it's something I've been doing, I don't want to make the same mistake with my new one.
I usually keep my mac connected to AC power and probably once a week I try to drain the battery. It only has 28 cycles. I bought it last year on november and today when I removed the ac power, a little while after I realized that the battery health went from 88% to 77%! What can I do? I am doing everything that mac says to keep a healthy battery!
