I thought simply plugging my mixer via USB cable into my MacBook Pro would start a sequence to allow me to record. Using Audacity, it says that a problem occurs when I try to record.I would first just like to make certain the mixer sound is connecting with the laptop. The unit didn't come with any driver.

I have a Yamaha HTR-6030 5.1 receiver and a Santa Rosa Macbook Pro. I'm using an XtremeHD Optical Cord with a headphone jack that was bundled with it (bought at the Apple store). I've got the receiver set to "CD" mode as thats the optical port I'm using on the back of it. In the Audio MIDI setup panel (where I've gone in the past to make this work) my settings are Digital Out, 44100.0hz, 2ch-24bit. I'm not able to select anything more then 2 channels, so I'm missing out on the rears (not a big deal) and the center (more of a big deal). How do I get the computer to shoot 5.1 out?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble getting sound out of Garageband - I've boiled it down to simply trying to play simple Apple loops or use musical typing to play software instruments. Sound is working properly in all other applications, including iTunes, Peak and Final Cut Pro. Audio input/output is set to Built-In in both GB preferences and Audio-Midi preferences. The MIDI is recording (ie, I can see a track appear when I play, and I see levels in the track) but for some reason the audio is not getting down to the mixer below (volume is up all the way on individual track and bottom right main, mute is off). I'm running OS 10.4.8 with Garageband 3.0.2.

I'll be running it to a mixer first and then to 2 monitors. What will I need to configure on my Powerbook to do this? Or will I be able to just hook up the cables and play music from iTunes? I will be looking at the actual mixer this coming Sunday to see what type of cables I'll need.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can’t record an audio (vocal) track. Here is my gear, DAW: Reason 8, Mac running Yosemite (version 10.10), mixer: Behringer 1204 USB (with built audio interface). I’ve also tried the following stand alone audio interfaces, TASCAM US 100 and M-Audio Fast track Pro. Key board Axiom 25. I gone into preferences and selected USB Audio CODEC for both output and input on the MAC, did the same under reason preference audio tab. when I create a audio track in Reason, in the audio input section I see “No audio input”.
When I select the drop down menu there is a section for Mono input and Stereo for me to check this is followed by a grayed out section that states “No audio input available, please check your sound card settings. The other funny thing is when I use Garage Band, I have no issues recording. I just recorded in garage band using the Behringer 1204. Am I missing some simple setting somewhere,missing a channel routing.

I have a blackbook (intel core 2 duo) and I can connect to my landlord's wireless network (they have a netgear wgt624) but I can't actually use the web (Safari or Firefox will just "think"). I've tested the diagnostics and it confirms that my mac can connect to the network, but it cannot connect to the internet. The network uses WPA personal and it has a 19-aphanumeric passphrase.
*Also - would it be possible for me to extend the wireless range (and make it possible to browse the web) if I used my own 2wire wireless modem to connect to the netgear wgt624?

It is on my home network which I have been using for months. I have made no changes to my router or network setting. Other devices will still connect to the wifi with no problem and I connect through the ethernet connection with no problem. I have disabled the wifi and restarted my computer with no luck.

What i did was open the ipod through mycomputer (windows XP) and cut the folder that contains all my music and pasted it into mydocuments so i had full amount of memory on my ipod to use it as a memory device. I gave it to my friend to put some videos into my ipod again through mycomputer. He didnt allow the ipod to sync on his itunes. Now i have it back i plugged it into my pc and my itunes couldnt pick it up and neither can mycomputer. I left it plugged in and restarted my pc when it booted up i opened itunes and it was sort of froze, after leaving it for a minute or two my ipod cam e up on itunes but it said it was corrupt. I ran the restore over night as it was taking along time and when i cam back this morning it was still doing it! Whats wrong with my ipod?! is there any other way to system reset it? do you think my mate should have synced it with his pc?

On the other end, the yellow is plugged into apple's mini DVI to video adapter which is plugged into my Macbook, and the red and white are plugged into an adapter that is plugged into my headphone jack. Currently I prefer to turn off the Airport when I'm at the desk and use a wired connection. If I try to connect to the VPN with only the wired ip up, the VPN times out and says it failed to negotiate. If I unplug and turn on the AirPort it works fine.
