can't connect to the box. They say it's because WEP number is no longer valid with this OS, have toi have aWPA code (or whatever it is called ...).Is that true ?
I have a blackbook (intel core 2 duo) and I can connect to my landlord's wireless network (they have a netgear wgt624) but I can't actually use the web (Safari or Firefox will just "think"). I've tested the diagnostics and it confirms that my mac can connect to the network, but it cannot connect to the internet. The network uses WPA personal and it has a 19-aphanumeric passphrase.
*Also - would it be possible for me to extend the wireless range (and make it possible to browse the web) if I used my own 2wire wireless modem to connect to the netgear wgt624?
I don't know what's wrong with it.My ipod touch connects just fine and yet when i try to connect my new macbook it won't allow me to connect.I've never owned a macbook - so i have no idea how to fix this.
I currently have the network setup assistant running and configuring - but it's been about an hour and it hasn't done anything. Is there something else i need to do?
It is on my home network which I have been using for months. I have made no changes to my router or network setting. Other devices will still connect to the wifi with no problem and I connect through the ethernet connection with no problem. I have disabled the wifi and restarted my computer with no luck.
Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL I just started to receive this message, when I try to go to this one website. What caused this? and how can I fix this problem? I an geet to website using other browsers.
What i did was open the ipod through mycomputer (windows XP) and cut the folder that contains all my music and pasted it into mydocuments so i had full amount of memory on my ipod to use it as a memory device. I gave it to my friend to put some videos into my ipod again through mycomputer. He didnt allow the ipod to sync on his itunes. Now i have it back i plugged it into my pc and my itunes couldnt pick it up and neither can mycomputer. I left it plugged in and restarted my pc when it booted up i opened itunes and it was sort of froze, after leaving it for a minute or two my ipod cam e up on itunes but it said it was corrupt. I ran the restore over night as it was taking along time and when i cam back this morning it was still doing it! Whats wrong with my ipod?! is there any other way to system reset it? do you think my mate should have synced it with his pc?
i am trying to connect to ftp using the "Connect to server" in OSX or even [URL]in the browser. it opens a blog for the username and password i put them in and it says it wrong when it is not.
I'm trying to connect my Macbook (white, purchased in early 2009) to my TV. I have the composite (red, white, yellow) cable plugged into my TV on one end. On the other end, the yellow is plugged into apple's mini DVI to video adapter which is plugged into my Macbook, and the red and white are plugged into an adapter that is plugged into my headphone jack. Audio is working through the TV, but video is not.
I'm having a very strange Cisco VPN issue. I connect to a Cisco VPN every day for work from my macbook. Currently I prefer to turn off the Airport when I'm at the desk and use a wired connection. If I try to connect to the VPN with only the wired ip up, the VPN times out and says it failed to negotiate. If I unplug and turn on the AirPort it works fine. 2010 MPB 15 i7, 8GB, Intel 160 SSD, OS X 10.6.5
As the title says, I have a bunch of TV shows from my country that are not available here on US cable, So I have to watch them on the internet, I was wondering I I can connect my Macbook to my tv (Standard definition Philiphs 21") and watch the videos on the tv instead of the Macbook.

How do I connect my macbook pro to a TV using a HDMI cable? I have it connected and it is on the correct input but all I can see on my TV screen is the generic galaxy screen for Macbooks.
I've got a 2 years old macbook pro and I'd like to connect it to my TV to be able to view on the TV screen the content of my mac (sound and video). My TV is an old one, not an HD TV.I know there's the right adaptator out there but there's so much choice and all this HDMi, VGA etc just confuses me : what should I pick ?Â
Is there a built in feature in OSX that will let me use the 3G signal from the iPhone to let me go online with my MBP? Or do I need a 3rd party program?
I have a 13' Macbook Pro running 10.6.5. I also have an HP Laserjet P1102 (works fine on my windows machine) connected via USB. Now I just need my Macbook to communicate with the damn thing. I downloaded a huge HP driver package from Apple's website, installed it (took up 700megs of space) but it still doesn't detect the printer when I go into System Preferences to ADD printer. Are there certain steps I have to do or recite some kind of voodoo incantation to get this to work?
I recently sold my old MacBook to my brother. He has 2 PCs and 2 iPhones, both of which connect perfectly to the internet through his modem/router (a BT Business Hub). The Mac, on the other hand, just won't connect to the internet. Airport connects to the router, but cannot load any web pages. Connecting by ethernet does not appear to help. This Mac will happily connect to any other router except this one.
For some reason when i try to open firefox its says page cannot be found. The signal is very strong and it says its connected. There is surrounding routers in my neighborhood so i connected to a other one and it works just fine. I was having the same problem this morning with my desk top which is a PC it said something about my ip address but it repaired itself.
I have a dish network box model ViP612 DVR and then the mac that I have is a MacBook(black) 10.5.6. On the box of the dish box there is a USB port and I was wondering if there was any way to take the things that are recorded and watch them on my Mac. Did some googling but did not find much.
