MacBook Pro :: Can Diablo 3 Run In Medium To High Setting
May 1, 2012
I miss out on the beta testing for Diablo 3 and i would like to know if it is possible to run Diablo 3 in Medium or High setting. Below are my Macbook Specs. 13-inch: 2.4 GHz2.4GHz dual-coreIntel Core i58GB 1333MHz500GB 5400-rpm1Intel HD Graphics 3000
Info:
MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I been noticing my MacBook pro getting very slow in games like diablo 3 and Starcraft. This MacBook pro was bought a year ago. It is running i7 sandy bridge with a 128 Ssd. I did install optibay with a monetux xt hard drive in it.It could run ultra setting on Starcraft no problem and is very smooth when I first got it. Lately I got diablo 3, and it gets very slow. I had to change all the graphics setting to low. It is not slow in the beginning, but it gets very slow after a while. It is like slow motion!!! Even when is low, it is still very laggy in game. I tried to repair the disk and clean up the laptop with onyx and still doing the same thing. I even try to reboot when is slow, but same thing after I reboot. I guess the MBP still hot.
I have one of the older macbooks [the ones that were given out during summer '07, that came with the free ipod nano], and it used to burn cds fine but today I tried inserting a cd and it burned three songs and then said burn medium error. now when i put in a cd there is some scratching and whizzing and other random noises, and after a few minutes it spits it out without asking what I want to do with it.
I connot burn a DVD. I get the message "The burn to the HL-DT-ST DVDRW GS23N drive failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error." I re-booted, tried different brands of DVDs and slowed the burn speed with no results.
I have recently bought a MacBook Pro with OS X, and it works very well. However, I have noticed that when I try to install Diablo 1 from Blizzard Entertainment from my CD-ROM, it fails to initialize. Upon further investigation, I have discovered that the game, being fairly old by computer standards, will not run on OS X. I have read that an emulator, such as Sheepshaver, is available to emulate an earlier OS that will run the game. However, I downloaded Sheepshaver, and it did not install either. The application just sits there and has to be forced to quit. I do not know what is required for me to run Sheepshaver, and thus I am asking any fellow OS X users and MacBook Pro experts to please help. What am I missing to run Sheepshaver correctly?
I'm wanting to order a custom laptop messenger from timbuk2 here, but I don't know what size will fit a current unibody 17 inch MBP. According to the dimensions listed by apple here, the medium would bag would fit it fine. On timbuk2's site the large says it fits most 17 inch laptops, but the true width is too big. However, the true width on the medium bag would seem to fit. Does anybody use the medium timbuk2 messenger bag for their 17 inch MBP?
I've searched and have found a lot of people using the medium bag for their 15 inch MBP and they say it fits "perfect". Some people mention that they use the large bag for their 15 inch also. The site's specifications would seem to fit perfect with a medium bag, so i'm not really sure. I would prefer the medium bag, but I don't want to waste my money since you can't return custom bags.
I'm getting the basic 13" MacBookPro sometime next week and I was wondering, how good is it for gaming? To be honest, I haven't played video games in a while (didn't have time then lost interest) but I still want to play Diablo3 during my spare time because I used to be a big fan of Diablo2 back in the day. Do you think I could run it?
Specs:
2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz 4GB 1600MHz memory 500GB 5400-rpm hard drive Intel HD Graphics 4000
I recently bought a refurbished macbook (2.1 ghz, 120 gb hd, 1 gb ram, not sure of video card), and I have been trying to play diablo 2. I downloaded the installer and patch for it, but after installing everything, I am unable to start it up at all. It says, "The application Diablo II quit unexpectedly." From here I can ignore, report or relaunch. I've reported once already, but relaunching is pointless and ignore obviously closes it out entirely. I am not even able to get a startup or menu screen to come up. I have never owned a Mac before now so I am learning as I go. I am pretty sure I need to get to 256 colors, but I am stuck with millions. There are no other available options and downgrading my resolution has had no effect.
I keep trying to burn a CD-R, and every time itunes stops burning halfway through and i get this error message, "Attemp to burn a disc failed. Burn failed due to a medium write error." I am using memorex CD-R's and have tried with 4 times with different CD's. Is this a software or hardware problem? Any info would be awesome.
OS X: 10.5.8 Leopard but I will be purchased Snow Leopard and Lion this weekend. Hard Drive: 50 GB Processor: 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory: 1GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (recently purchased a 4GB memory module) Graphics/Displays: Chipset Model: Intel GMA X3100
Diablo 3 requirements are: Mac® OS X 10.6.8, 10.7.x or newerIntel® Core 2 Duo CPU (or better)NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600M GT or ATI Radeon™ HD 2600 (or better)2 GB RAM12 GB available Hard Drive spaceDVD-ROM drive (for retail disc versions only)Broadband Internet connectionVideo settings reaching a minimum resolution of 1024x768 I will have the OS X problem fixed when I upgrade to lion. I will also have the RAM problem fixed when the 4GB module comes in. I feel everything else is in order except the graphic card. Will my GMA X3100 support the gameplay or DO I NEED NVIDIA OR ATI Radeon?
these are the games i plan on playing when i purchase my new macbook i5 15inch. i know the processor difference between the i5 and i7 is barely noticeable especially for someone like me who doesnt do all that high-end rendering stuff. the only thing thats freaking me out is the difference in quality between these games with the nvidia 330m 256 mb vs 512 mb. some have said it'll make no difference as most games these days just use the speed of the card and not the space, and that the 330m is not even fast enough to take advantage of the 512mb....what would the quality difference be between the two for these games? i plan on getting the high-res screen, does that change anything?
I'm was searching for a way to increase graphics in my mbp 2011 to play SCII and Diablo III but i can´t find anyone...do you know any solution by thunderbolt port o usb port to add a graphics acelerator card to mi mbp???
I went to burn a CD today and continue to get the error message:
Sense key=medium error
Sense code= OX73, OX03
I had this problem before but thought it was a bad disk, when I would put another one in it would burn fine. When I went to burn a new one today, using the same disks that I previously used I would get the above error. I am using Toast Titanium 5.2, Sony discs.
I know it sounds silly but I'm not really sure...do you think that the new diablo 3 will run smoothly on a new iMac coming this year? (27'' model, top of the line). Ofcourse I would love to play D3 on full details.I just can't imagine how fun it will be to play this awesome game on 27'' display, using our beloved Mac.
I have been trying to load Diablo II on a new 20" iMac with OS X v 10.5.1. I have attempted to load it a number of times, downloaded the patches and tried the "native" installer. The game appears to load properly; however, when we try to start the game it runs through the initial graphics (ads) and then shows a scrambled diablo page (looks like large square puzzle pieces placed in the wrong positions on the screen) and you can only escape to end the game form that point.
i'm trying to burn a Windows 7 ISO my brother got from some ACM subscription thing. Anyway, every time i try to burn it, it says "Unable to burn "(cd name)". (The burn failed because of a medium write error.)". Why is this happening? Is it the superdrive or the DVD-Rs? My computer is the Macbook pro with 2.4GHz intel core 2 duo cpu and with 2GB of 676MHz DDR2 SDRAM. The DVD-Rs i'm trying to use are Sony branded.
I don't recommend this as a mouse replacement. Drivers are fine and the Touch functions work as they should, though there are no three and four finger gestures. It's the feel and ergonomics that are awkward. Really awkward. I bought the medium version, and the trackpad is just too large. Perhaps that might be the issue. Either way, using it isn't really the same as a Macbook Pro trackpad.
There's a lot of wasted space on the sides, and your hand has to be held at a "ready position" when not touching the pad. When touching the pad and navigating, your hand is in a prime position for RSI. You can't really "rest" your hand. It's just plain awkward. It works as advertised but I found it quite uncomfortable and actually slower and less efficient than using a mouse and certainly not as comfy and fast as using a Macbook Pro trackpad.
Does it hurt the computer... If the computer is doing something (watching flash, playing a game) that turns on the fan full speed;Does this hurt the computer? There are a few games I like to play and they turn on the fan at full speed (computer gets hot too, on the bottom.)
How does the Antiglare screen look? Does it look cheap and flimsy like the matte screens on the pc laptops? This is my first Mac and i'm looking at going all out and getting the top of the line 15". I know I definitely want the HD screen, i'm just not sure which screen looks better. What about a 5400 vs 7200 rpm hdd? Is this upgrade worth it?
I have the 2.2 Santa Rosa 4Gb of ram Macbook, and last I tried Diablo 2 wouldn't launch due to some graphic error, or something. Has Apple fixed this yet?
I have Diablo 2, which is built for PPC macs, running through Rosetta. I expected it to be a little bit buggy but seriously it crashes every ten minutes. I figured maybe Rosetta just doesn't work that well until I got Neverwinter Nights 2 for intel mac and encountered the same problem.I have a new 13.3 in macbook pro with upgraded RAM and storage. I definitely meet specs to run these games. Are there any patches or anything that you can think of that I need to install before it will work smoothly?
It is time to replace the ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB graphics card that came with this computer. I am wanting to upgrade to something that will allow me to play Diablo 3. Any suggestions from as to what I need to upgrade to? I understand that there are a lot of differences as to which card will work in which machine. I just don't know the difference
Info: Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.4), 2x2 Ghz Dual-Core
utilizing memory on iMac. 320gb almost used (7gb left). Think this is due to extensive iTunes music library. How can I move this to an external drive to free up memory on iMac?
I'm running 10.7.3 software, but im trying to install a program but every time i try to stall it.. this comes out '"You can't open the application Diablo Installer because the Classic environment is no longer supported."I was wondering if i could buy or download some type of program to run a old system...
I've an Internet key (settings requested: phone number/web address/primary DNS): I put only the first 2 because with the third one (needed to speed up the connection) it doesn't works. I put the primary DNS requested on MACUSBmodem (DNS page, on the left).
