I am selling my Macbook Pro 15" from late 2008 (it has the dual nvidia cards 9600 and 9400) and going to a macbook 13". I know that the current macbook 13" model only has a 9400 but i need the reduced size. Is there any other benefits that changed in the past year?

I upgraded to 4GB Ram & have a 2.4Gh core 2 duo processor, I was wondering if Modern Warfare 2 can play on my computer. Its a late 2008 Macbook & I also have Windows XP already on my computer. Its seems alright on the requirements that it can run on my computer, but i'm just not sure about the graphics. 13" Aluminum Macbook (late 2008), 4 GB Ram, 250 GB HD, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this problem a wile now. When I play music (or watch a movie) I can hear there is something wrong with my sound output. It's hard to describe, but is is like someone is playing with an equalizer. The high pitch sounds (voices) are constantly changing in volume. maybe the basses to, but its hard to hear that. BUT, the strange thing is, when I play something in windows (parallels) it is much better... The bass is here more dimmed for some reason.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to load Diablo II on a new 20" iMac with OS X v 10.5.1. I have attempted to load it a number of times, downloaded the patches and tried the "native" installer. The game appears to load properly; however, when we try to start the game it runs through the initial graphics (ads) and then shows a scrambled diablo page (looks like large square puzzle pieces placed in the wrong positions on the screen) and you can only escape to end the game form that point.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have recently bought a MacBook Pro with OS X, and it works very well. However, I have noticed that when I try to install Diablo 1 from Blizzard Entertainment from my CD-ROM, it fails to initialize. Upon further investigation, I have discovered that the game, being fairly old by computer standards, will not run on OS X. I have read that an emulator, such as Sheepshaver, is available to emulate an earlier OS that will run the game. However, I downloaded Sheepshaver, and it did not install either. The application just sits there and has to be forced to quit. I do not know what is required for me to run Sheepshaver, and thus I am asking any fellow OS X users and MacBook Pro experts to please help. What am I missing to run Sheepshaver correctly?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm getting the basic 13" MacBookPro sometime next week and I was wondering, how good is it for gaming? To be honest, I haven't played video games in a while (didn't have time then lost interest) but I still want to play Diablo3 during my spare time because I used to be a big fan of Diablo2 back in the day. Do you think I could run it?

I recently bought a refurbished macbook (2.1 ghz, 120 gb hd, 1 gb ram, not sure of video card), and I have been trying to play diablo 2. I downloaded the installer and patch for it, but after installing everything, I am unable to start it up at all. It says, "The application Diablo II quit unexpectedly." From here I can ignore, report or relaunch. I've reported once already, but relaunching is pointless and ignore obviously closes it out entirely. I am not even able to get a startup or menu screen to come up. I have never owned a Mac before now so I am learning as I go. I am pretty sure I need to get to 256 colors, but I am stuck with millions. There are no other available options and downgrading my resolution has had no effect.

I have Diablo 2, which is built for PPC macs, running through Rosetta. I expected it to be a little bit buggy but seriously it crashes every ten minutes. I figured maybe Rosetta just doesn't work that well until I got Neverwinter Nights 2 for intel mac and encountered the same problem.I have a new 13.3 in macbook pro with upgraded RAM and storage. I definitely meet specs to run these games. Are there any patches or anything that you can think of that I need to install before it will work smoothly?

these are the games i plan on playing when i purchase my new macbook i5 15inch. i know the processor difference between the i5 and i7 is barely noticeable especially for someone like me who doesnt do all that high-end rendering stuff. the only thing thats freaking me out is the difference in quality between these games with the nvidia 330m 256 mb vs 512 mb. some have said it'll make no difference as most games these days just use the speed of the card and not the space, and that the 330m is not even fast enough to take advantage of the 512mb....what would the quality difference be between the two for these games? i plan on getting the high-res screen, does that change anything?

I been noticing my MacBook pro getting very slow in games like diablo 3 and Starcraft. This MacBook pro was bought a year ago. It is running i7 sandy bridge with a 128 Ssd. I did install optibay with a monetux xt hard drive in it.It could run ultra setting on Starcraft no problem and is very smooth when I first got it. Lately I got diablo 3, and it gets very slow. I had to change all the graphics setting to low. It is not slow in the beginning, but it gets very slow after a while. It is like slow motion!!! Even when is low, it is still very laggy in game. I tried to repair the disk and clean up the laptop with onyx and still doing the same thing. I even try to reboot when is slow, but same thing after I reboot. I guess the MBP still hot.
