A few months ago, I bought a macbook pro and it was doing fine. But recently, every time it starts, a blue screen appears for a split second then it goes to log- in. Then, every time I shutdown, it will also show up for a split second then shutdown. It doesn't affect the computer but I'm just wondering how to stop it.

I have a problem with my MacBook screen. Everytime I try to turn on the MacBook, the blue screen appears for a second and then everything gets dark (but I can see that the computer turned on normally, it's just the screen that gets almost black, without light). Sometimes only the right side of the screen is blue and then gets dark just like the left one. I was looking for the problem and I perceived that the left side seems to be loose and I can't fix it. What should I do?

Ok guys, so here is the story, i just bought the 500 GB Blue Scorpio, ran the Time Machine back up on an external hard drive and wanted to install the 500 GB on my macbook, inserted the Mac OS CD and in the section where it asks where you want to install the Mac OS, i didnt see anything it was blank and it didnt give any options or anything.so now i installed the old hard drive and i am using that one, what am i supposed to do ?

I have had my macbook pro for just over 2 years. About a week ago it started randomly giving me a blue striped, grey, or black screen. The fan pins up and won't stop and either the laptop shuts itself off or I have to force it off. When it restarts it is very slow and sometimes the fan kicks on and won't stop and the screen just stays white after the initial apple and spinning wheel screen, so I have force shut it down and try again. Other times it eventually loads and lets me in but everything responds slowly and takes some time to open.

After windows is installed a Blue screen appears with cursor on screen but it freezes completely.I can fix this by restarting my mac , then once windows restarts i insert the Mac OS disc , select the disc within my computer but the following message appears "Package requires new version of installer"

ok my macbook wont boot. i hit the power button, i hear the cd drive move, grey screen comes up with the apply logo and the little progress loading spinner thing, boot sound rings, then it goes to a dark blue screen for a second then it turns a lighter blue and the cursor is there and i can move it around, and then nothing happens it just sits there
i tried holding command/option/p/r till i heard the boot noise twice then let go and it stopped at the blue screen again. i didnt download anything new or change any permissions or system settings, just powered off last night and went to turn it on this morning and this happened
I have an iMac 21inch, Late 2009. I found after it was runing really slow that my hard drive was failing. It told me there were SMART errors on the drive. The computer is out of warranty and I'm in the middle of no where so i have no Mac store to take it to. I bought a new drive, same model, and installed it into the computer. It turns on fine, but after the Apple logo and spinning coge wheel the screen flashes, shows the blue back ground like its going to load the desktop and then goes black.Â
I've tried connecting an external monitor to it and shows up like an extended display. I've tried connecting it to another Mac, a Mini, and the Mini can boot off the iMacs hard drive just fine. If it Target Disk mode the Mini and boot the iMac I get the same flash of blue desktop then it goes black. Â
This is where it gets weird though, I'm sure your thinking, ok the screen is going bad... BUT, I boot off an Ubuntu CD, or the AHT disk and it loads fine and has no turning black. Its only when booting into the Mac OS or the installation disk. Â
One last note is that when its at the black screen and I'm sure its loaded the desktop, if I hold the power button down for about 3-4 seconds, till I hear a click. I then press the button again right away and the screen flashes on showing me the desktop and everything, for about 2 seconds... Â
My 4 month old Macbook Pro suddenly shuts down with a blue screen and a spinning gear(like on the start-up) thats lasts for like 10 seconds. Could you suggest anything I can do? I figured my internet was slow or something and waited a little for the image to keep moving, but nothing happened only the audio kept going. I tried to press esc to exit full screen mode, but nothing happened, I pressed more keys, still no reaction, even the audio and screen brightness keys didn't work. So I held the power button to do a force shut down.Â
After a couple of minutes, I pressed the power button again, startup sound played, then the white screen with the apple logo and loading gear appeared together with a grey loading bar. I figured that meant it had to repair something and waited. After two minutes it just shut off. I decided to leave it closed for the night. The exact same thing happened last night and tonight as well. Â

After updating the mac os and other applications that displayed in the update software notification, some of my apps wouldn’t open or start up. The icon would bounce in the sidebar like it was trying to open but then a crash report would display. Then last night, I started up the computer to find that it loaded the blue screen of death. I tried to load in safe user mode, but it only loads the different background, but no apps or finder displays. I also tried to load the OS disk that was provided at the time of purchase, but am not sure if i am doing that correctly. I can't seem to get past the blue screen.

macbook recently took a trip to the dashbord of the car while getting re-ended in the passenger seat.

I have an '07 MacBook Pro running 10.5 I was on the desktop and I did a 'Command I' click on the MacHD icon to see what memory was being used and how much was available. While the window was open which displayed the memory, I scrolled to the bottom to the sharing and permissions portion and where it had the everyone box - changed the permissions to 'no access'I then logged out and shut the machine down. Now I try to start up and all i get is the blue screen with the spinning gear. I have tried to start with the shift key down, no luck. I tried with the startup disk and holding the c key then went to disk utility and did the disk repair which came back OK but the disk permission keep failing due to error of underlying task.

Wen I try to start it up I either choose the wireless network or login. After both of those things I get to the blue screen and that's it, or I get to the background with nothing else on the screen. I've tried doing safe boot and it still does nothing.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to Snow Leopard and a few days later when i went to shutdown my mac pro after i woke it up, i got the blue screen and progress wheel just spinning. After calls with Apple, running both long and short hardware tests, 3 snow leopard discs, a clean install, 2 upgrades, the tech gave up. The clean install was a bare bones install with no applications installed. I would now have to take it into a repair shop and pay for software tests. This is a one year old mac pro with apple care. I used Time Machine to restore to leopard, and all is ok. Has anyone heard of this problem? I'm quit happy to stick with Leopard, but am upset that an apple software problem has to be fixed and paid for by me. I assume if it was a hardware problem it would show up in Leopard.

I manage to get to enter my password and then to my desktop for a few seconds before it flicks back to my login.
I tried using disk utility from the install disc and it said HD appears to be ok. But it hasn't solved the problem.
