MacBook Pro :: Need To Install Drivers For Window XP Access
Jun 26, 2009I waited for 3 years to get a new MBP, and 12 hours ago, my dreams were finally realized. I pulled it out of the box, transferred some data, and hopped on a plane to my best friends baby blessing. I'm gone for a week, and I'll need windows access, so I threw my WinXP SP3 disc in my carryon. I of course forgot to get the OS X discs with the windows drivers from out of the MBP box. So, I'm states away from my discs, with no local options. Does anyone know where I can get the drivers for the new Unibody MBP (the one with the SD card slot and the 512VRAM, to clarify)? I'll be anxiously refreshing this page.

I heard people said you can partition your Window desktop so that it can run Mac OS, is that true? and what do they mean by partition? I have seen desktop that can choose to run either Vista or XP (when u turn on the comp), but can it also have an option to run Mac OS X? if so, how do you do it? instructional videos would be great. And once I get a Mac OS on my non-mac computer, will I be able to use it like it was a iMac?

Dec 29, 2009I just upgraded my hdd a couple of mins ago from the 120 gig to a seagate 500gig , but before doing that i used "carbon copy cloner" to clone my old drive, as well as the 8gig partition i had there where i used to keep my copy of snow leopard (easier that carrying the disk around).CCC cloned both partitions perfectly.I named them Mac and Mac-backupthen I created another partition using disk utility and named it Win - this is where i want to install win7 via bootcamp. The "Win" partition is totally empty.

Jun 28, 2012I have previously used the GRAB utility to take a snapshot of an open Safari windiw, and the snapshot included the entire windiw contents. When I opened the snapshot in Preview, I could scroll up and down and view the entire contents of the original Safari windiw. Then, I tried it again a few hours later on a different Safari window, but I then got only the part of the windiw that was visible in the browser at the time that I GRABbed the window (i.e., when I took the snapshot).What do I need to do to get the entire windiw?

Apr 2, 2012This is the first time i reinstalled(clean install) my snow leopard on my MBP. All went fine but then i inserted the disc for bundled application (which contains the ilife apps) but it keeps failing.
It says that "the installation failed. the installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. contact the software manufacturer for assistance".
I've also done my research on this matter. I've gone thru a few steps i tried as below without success:
1)normal install - fail
2)repair permission - fail
3)install in safe mode - fail
4) install using another admin acc - fail
5) made an image out of the disc and install - fail
6) used a similar disc(my dad's since we have identical version) - fai
7)updated my system and install - fail
8) reinstall the mac - fail
i cant think of any other solution as im a bit noob when it comes to mac. is there any other things i could try before taking it Apple?

Jan 5, 2011My MBP was recently squished in a motorcycle accident and its hard drive and superdrive were destroyed. Is it possible to buy a new hard drive, put it in an external USB 2.0 enclosure, then install OS X on it using the discs that came with my destroyed MBP in a different Mac, then put the hard drive into the squished computer and have it use that hard drive as its startup disk? The motherboard on the squished computer is fine, I just can't install OS X on it because it has a broken superdrive.

Sep 4, 2014I tried to install Snow Leopard on my MacBookPro but it cannot install and cannot be ejected. I need to eject.
The reason for this is a long story. My logic board was replaced and my Mac was wiped clean. I am not trying to recover from back up but could not figure out the next step after the recovery finished. So I tried to install OSX from the disk that came with my Mac. Probably not the right corrective action.
I need to remove the Snow Leopard DVD and finish my recovery.

I can see it come by when i switch from space 1 to space 2.

Sep 23, 2009I've been using the same PC for the last 10 years, currently on windows XP, been waiting for a while to make the switch, new apple OS is out, new MacBook Pro look is out, but the current hardware version has been out since June. So I am looking to get a macbook pro 17inch matte, would love to get SSD drive but for the price and storage, I plan to get the 7200rpm HDD 500GB HDD instead. So long story short, what is the current processor is apple using on the macbook pro, and which ones should we expect at the next update? And is there a big difference between each processor. I don't do graphic design, I plan to use it for mostly for web browsing, chatting, watching high quality videos, storing my pictures, just the basic stuff.

Blinking Window On Macbook Pro Startup
Apr 28, 2012ive noticed a small glitch during the startup of my macbook pro. Whenever I log into my account before it displays my desktop, a window flashes for a split second that has 2 options to choose from (It looks like whenever my cubase crashes and it prompts me with the options "Reopen" or "Sent report" or something like that) I never manage to exactly see what this window is as I cant read it in time, let alone choose an option. It just switches off quickly. All software updates are recent, and this really bothers me. I dont know what it is. Could it be a virus? Im very careful with what I download online, let alone the websites I visit. The OS itself works fast and on track.I decided to run disk utility and check the hard disk for errors. Turns out there were a few permission errors, and disk errors where it said my MacOSX volume is corrupted. Ive only had this laptop for 6 months, I dont want to send it in to apple just yet. I've run lion recovery since after a backup and fixed the permission and disk errors, then re-verified them and it said everything was now fixed and fine. I restarted and that window STILL flashed.
