I waited for 3 years to get a new MBP, and 12 hours ago, my dreams were finally realized. I pulled it out of the box, transferred some data, and hopped on a plane to my best friends baby blessing. I'm gone for a week, and I'll need windows access, so I threw my WinXP SP3 disc in my carryon. I of course forgot to get the OS X discs with the windows drivers from out of the MBP box. So, I'm states away from my discs, with no local options. Does anyone know where I can get the drivers for the new Unibody MBP (the one with the SD card slot and the 512VRAM, to clarify)? I'll be anxiously refreshing this page.

I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
Even when I hit the Green button on any window it never maximizes the screen size to fill up the screen and still keep the dock showing at the bottom?Â

My safari extensions window has gone blank. I have a MacBook Pro running 10.7.4, and I recently downloaded some extensions from the Apple Site. I've trashed the Library/Safari/Extensions plist folder and re-booted but this has not helped. I can install them but not manage them through the preferences > extensions window.

Last night, I was trying to download Xcode 3.2.5 and it wouldn't show up in my downloads window.
This is what it looks like. as you can see, it says the number of DLs at the bottom of the window.
The file DOES download, but for some reason, it just wont show up in my download window.

I'm new and have never used a mac other than at school to surf the net. I heard people said you can partition your Window desktop so that it can run Mac OS, is that true? and what do they mean by partition? I have seen desktop that can choose to run either Vista or XP (when u turn on the comp), but can it also have an option to run Mac OS X? if so, how do you do it? instructional videos would be great. And once I get a Mac OS on my non-mac computer, will I be able to use it like it was a iMac?

I call it "Safari Window Corner" or "Swic" for short. It's a tiny plug-in that does one simple thing. When you bring your mouse right over one of the top corner of a Safari window [it could have a preferences for the corner you prefer], most likely the top left corner, a little blue triangle appears, if you click it, Safari jumps right up into the the corner. This does one simple thing, saves you from having to drag it up to position it. If you're like me you like windows to stay in certain places. And if you are a big user of tabs and web browsing, you'll know windows like to move around a little. Safari Window Corner saves that little bit of time and annoyance [they add up] which I'd gladly pay for. $5 sounds reasonable.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI think I found a bug in iTunes, because I can find no other explanation. Every once in a while (like once every three weeks) my iTunes window goes down. By this I mean everytime i click a different playlist, view, category, iTunes store, the window moves down a bit leaving this gap at the top. It randomly comes and goes, and its not really a big deal, but it does get really annoying. Is anyone else getting this? and no, im not just moving the window down
Heres a before and after:
i'm trying to install the window xp onto my mac using either boot camp or parallel desktop. tried doing it myself, but somehow it just won't work. i was hoping someone would giv me some pointers on how to make this work. one more thing, my window xp is a downloaded version.
View 2 Replies View Relatedim about to install windows on my macbook via bootcamp. However, i will use the same partition for parallels, which means that my ram is goign to be damaged. I wanted to know which os did u recomment me to install. Does windows 7 hog more cpu and ram than vista?
View 13 Replies View RelatedThe only thing that keeps me from using Safari is the way that target="_blank" links open in new windows, and there is no option to open them in new tabs.
Yes, I'm well aware of Command-click, right-click, etc. Those are not a good solution. It's the surprise new windows that bother me.
I'd like these surprise links to open as tabs rather than windows. However, I'd also like specifically-sized Javascript pop-up windows to open the way they were designed to: As pop-up windows.
I've used Saft in the past. It does a nice job with the first half of the problem, but does not accommodate the specifically-sized Javascript pop-up windows.
Yeah, this thread has come up several times before. Just wondering if anything has changed since the last one, or if Saft is still the best game in town.
Am I imagining it, or did Cmd-W use to close the active tab only? Now when I want to close a tab,I hit Cmd-W and suddenly my entire Safari window closes.I notice in the File Menu that Cmd-W is set to close window and there is now no keyboard shortcut to close a tab. When did this change and why? Is there any way to get the old functionality back? I am using Safari 5.1.7, Mac OS X 10.7.4 on a Mac Pro

I just upgraded my hdd a couple of mins ago from the 120 gig to a seagate 500gig , but before doing that i used "carbon copy cloner" to clone my old drive, as well as the 8gig partition i had there where i used to keep my copy of snow leopard (easier that carrying the disk around).CCC cloned both partitions perfectly.I named them Mac and Mac-backupthen I created another partition using disk utility and named it Win - this is where i want to install win7 via bootcamp. The "Win" partition is totally empty.
View 7 Replies View RelatedBefore safari 4, I used firefox and loved the download status bar extension.
Is there a way to suppress the window so that it doesn't pop up when you download a file.
Recently when I have been opening up images in new tabs that are larger than the actual window in Safari I haven't had to option for them to shrink and fit on screen by clicking the mouse on the image. So basically the little magnifying glass doesn't replace the cursor for me to scale down any image anymore.
Is there any option to enable or preference file to edit?
Ok, so I love the ability to move a tab to its own separate window in Safari, but is there a way to move a window back into a tab? If not, this would be a nice little addition to the next version of Safari.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAt some point recently (I don't recall precisely when) on two different computers under my control (both iMacs: work 10.6.8 and home 10.7.3) I now find that when I open Safari the new Safari window has no keyboard focus. I must tab twice to get keyboard focus on the address bar. However on a third machine I use (MacBook Air 10.7.3) when I open a new Safari window the keyboard focus is in the address bar (as I expect and as it has always been). I've poked around in the Preferences in Safari and System Preferences: Keyboard and Universal Access Keyboard but can't find any kind of setting that might control this behavior (lack of keyboard focus on new window).why this is occuring and how to restore keyboard focus to the address bar on opening a new Safari window?
