View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been using Safari 4 on my Leopard machine since it has come out and it's been working great until about 10 minutes ago. I logged into to my gmail account and was greeted by a beautiful white screen I then booted up Firefox and everything worked....Anyone else having issues with Gmail?

I can't see my gmail messages in Safari 5.1.4. I can see them in FireFox. Things were fine until two days ago.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor some reason safari is acting weird. It will let me log onto gmail but as soon as i try to click an email it freezes up. Also when i click a link in vimeo it freezes up as well. I have to force quit and then re open the broswer. I use firefox to get around it but sometimes that acts up too. Do they need to release a new patch or something? I jsut want to know why did this start acting this way. All my software is up to date jsut to let you know and accessing safari on my ipad works jsut fine as well. I am using a imac to try to access my email and thats where the problems seem to be.

I've stumbled across some kind of glitch an I was wondering if anyone could shed light on it. Here are the symptoms...
Macbook Pro 17"
OSX 10.6.5
Safari 5.0.3
The whole page in Safari will go a bit insane (see pictures, glitching images change every half a second or so) whenever I click on the 'reply' text box when reading an email. As soon as the text cursor loads, glitch out. Interesting symptoms are that this happens sporadically, 3 times in 3 months, and although it recurs after refreshing the page, restarting Safari, or restarting the computer, it passes with time. Also interesting, when I went to take a full screen screenshot (alt+cmd+3) the computer produced a fully black image (makes a convenient black background incidentally) although when taking a partial screenshot (alt+cmd+4) it works fine.
Anyone having problems accessing gmail in Safari today? When I try to access the sign-in page, it tells me that "Safari can't open the page [URL] because your computer isn't connected to the Internet." I am clearly connected to the internet. Also, my Mail.app cannot connect to my gmail account and neither can my GPeek widget.
However, I have no problem accessing gmail via Firefox. I have noticed this problem a few times over the past 2-3 weeks, but though it was a google issue. Today was the first time I thought of trying to access gmail via Firefox, and it does, which points to Safari. Of course, now that I've finished typing this up, I can access gmail via Safari with no problems.
During the past few hours I've tried to load gmail and youtube in FF and Safari multiple times, but every time I do I get the spinning wheel of death. The pages will load and whenever I try to click on something I will get the wheel.
Yesterday I was on a myspace page and I received a message saying something about how the Adobe page scripts for that page were being unresponsive or something? I'm not sure exactly what it said...
Anyways, is there any way I can get this resolved? It sounds like it has to do something with a plug-in or an update.
This is a pretty weird problem I've been having on and off for the past few months... Every now and then, when I type a URL into Safari, it loads a completely different site... For example, [URL].will load [URL].. This usually lasts for around 30 minutes or so, and then it goes back to normal. The URLs affected vary... right now, when I try to load [URL]., Safari loads an error page from Yahoo! (but the URL in the address bar is still [URL].). If I try to go directly to Gmail by typing in mail.google.com, Safari says "cannot connect to server". I attached a screenshot of what happens when I go to [URL].
View 3 Replies View RelatedI signed up for a Gmail account about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I'm so impressed with it that I have made it my primary email account. My only problem comes when Iclick links from Safari or Adium where the link is an email address. I would LOVE for Safari to open to the compose mail link of my Gmail account in a new tab, because as it stands now this just opens Mail.app. (I know I could just manually navigate to the compose mail page of Gmail, but, that's just no fun). Is this extremely wishful thinking, or somehow possible?

My new employer uses Gmail as there email serves. It is a Japanese company and when I log into Gmail, even using the translator, most of the controls and text is still in Japanese.
Can I use Safari (like I do with other accounts) to send and receive email via googles email servers?
I assume I need googles send and receive server info (IMAP or POP)?

I can't access Gmail on my Macbook or iMac. They both are connected wirelessly and I have tried Firefox and Safari. Right now it's only Gmail that I can't access but sometimes it's the whole Google domain. I've got the correct DNS settings for my ISP as well as running Safari in 64-bit mode. My Windows PC (on the same router as the Macs) connects to the Google domain fine.

This never used to be a problem before the latest Safari update:When I try to open a window of the other Gmail account that I am logged into (multiple sign in), it always freezes close to the end of loading it.All the more reasons to use Chrome.Always forced to use basic HTML mode but it has very limited functionality.

I'm trying to think of a way to mimic Gmail functionality without actually using a Google/ Gmail account. My work email account is an imap account which I would like to use on my Macbook, and also my iPad. The ideal situation would be for all of my folders, inbox, and sent emails to sync as if I were working on the same device. In other words, I would like to write an email from my iPad only to come back to my office and find a copy on my laptop. Is this possible? Is it merely a matter of adding the imap account to my iPad?
I currently have the account set up on my Macbook and iPhone. The iPhone functionality isn't great. Emails which I send from my iPhone do not appear in my sent emails on my Macbook. I'm looking to remedy this.

I've had my first Mac for about a year now - 11" Mac Air - and love it. But I'm still using Gmail, rather than the Apple mail program. I've got my iphone's calendar synced up to Google's and I can't see a reason to use the Apple mail app instead of Gmail in a browser. I'm running Chrome as my browser too?

I just got back home after 10 weeks away. When away I access gmail remotely.I just turned on my mac at home and it will not find the 10 weks of saved messages on my gmail inbox account. All was well before I left in January and all other programs appear to be working.I have checked the mail preferences and seem to be OK.When I ask for new mail the activity indicator appears to work OK and the wheel goes for a while but no new mail appears in my inbox.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with Gmail being incredibly slow on my MacBook Air. It's not my connection because it happens wherever I am, but I don't have the problem on my iPhone. It's been going on for a month or so, and I've tried disabling the labs but that hasn't helped. I'm nowhere near the memory capacity.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can log into Hotmail, Gmail and Facebook on my Macbook, using Firefox or Safari, but then that's it. The pages stop loading and I can't do anything like read a message or post a comment. All other websites work, so it's not an Internet connection problem. I've erased cookies, cleaned out my cache, changed my MTU, DNS, etc., but nothing works. I've also scanned for spy software and found nothing, which leads me to believe the problem has to be with my Macbook/operating system.

I started using Outlook for Mac 2011 when I purchased my new MacBook Pro last year. I have found it to be a royal pain. I've decided to switch from Outlook to Gmail. Can I export my Outlook contacts and tasks directly to Gmail or do I need to do something with my Address Book (or is there some other way)?
