I've been using Safari 4 on my Leopard machine since it has come out and it's been working great until about 10 minutes ago. I logged into to my gmail account and was greeted by a beautiful white screen I then booted up Firefox and everything worked....Anyone else having issues with Gmail?
View 7 RepliesI can't access Gmail on my Macbook or iMac. They both are connected wirelessly and I have tried Firefox and Safari. Right now it's only Gmail that I can't access but sometimes it's the whole Google domain. I've got the correct DNS settings for my ISP as well as running Safari in 64-bit mode. My Windows PC (on the same router as the Macs) connects to the Google domain fine.

I cant seem to log into [URL] and smtp.gmail.com. I followed every direction via [URL] to setup an account on Mail 3.5. I enabled IMAP in my account settings on [URL]. I just cant seem to get it working it so weird.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy Mail.app has been working fine with my [URL] account for yonks but has now suddenly stopped working. I either get a constant spinner next to the account or a warning sign that says something about bandwidth limits exceeded.
My blackberry gets my email fine, as does Evolution on Ubuntu 10.04. This has been on going for about a week and I've even archived any messages that have lots of pictures in them. Still no luck.
Mail is working with my other google apps accounts for about four different domains but _not_ with my [URL] account.
so yesterday when i was browsing gmail in my mail app it was working fine then all of a sudden it just stopped, so i tryed fixing around the problem and still couldn't get it to work so i deleted it and re added it back now it says, the user name or password is incorrect when i didn't change anything.

The whole page in Safari will go a bit insane (see pictures, glitching images change every half a second or so) whenever I click on the 'reply' text box when reading an email. As soon as the text cursor loads, glitch out. Interesting symptoms are that this happens sporadically, 3 times in 3 months, and although it recurs after refreshing the page, restarting Safari, or restarting the computer, it passes with time. Also interesting, when I went to take a full screen screenshot (alt+cmd+3) the computer produced a fully black image (makes a convenient black background incidentally) although when taking a partial screenshot (alt+cmd+4) it works fine.
Anyone having problems accessing gmail in Safari today? When I try to access the sign-in page, it tells me that "Safari can't open the page [URL] because your computer isn't connected to the Internet." I am clearly connected to the internet. Also, my Mail.app cannot connect to my gmail account and neither can my GPeek widget.
However, I have no problem accessing gmail via Firefox. I have noticed this problem a few times over the past 2-3 weeks, but though it was a google issue. Today was the first time I thought of trying to access gmail via Firefox, and it does, which points to Safari. Of course, now that I've finished typing this up, I can access gmail via Safari with no problems.
During the past few hours I've tried to load gmail and youtube in FF and Safari multiple times, but every time I do I get the spinning wheel of death. The pages will load and whenever I try to click on something I will get the wheel.
Yesterday I was on a myspace page and I received a message saying something about how the Adobe page scripts for that page were being unresponsive or something? I'm not sure exactly what it said...
Anyways, is there any way I can get this resolved? It sounds like it has to do something with a plug-in or an update.
I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
So anyone having the same trouble with Gmail and Safari?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded this: [URL] to add the "tweaks" menu. After I downloaded it I had some trouble getting it to work. I originally just dragged the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) into where it is supposed to go and that didnt do anything. So then I redownloaded it and dragged the folder itself into it, that didnt do anything. then I got rid of the orignal Menu.nib file and it caused Safari to not even start. After retrying a bunch of times I eventually got it to work. Once I got it to work I clicked on the "view webless ct" tweak (or whatever it said) just to see what it was, and viola, Safari wouldnt load. Everytime I try to open Safari now, I got an error message saying safari needs to quit.
I even reinstalled safari, didnt work. THEN I threw the installation .dmg file in the trash, as well ass safari it self into the trash and emptied it. Then I used firefox and redownloaded Safari 4 from apple.com. After downloading and installing safari 4 again, restarting the computer, it STILL shows the error message. How can I get safari back to work? I really dont like Firefox.
is it me or Facebook.com doesnt works? I click everything, my profile the search button and no action. I dont have any other browser so i cant check. Can someone please check it out, or see if its for everyone.
P.s. I have Safari V. 3.1.
I had trouble installing the Safari 4 beta a while back but ever since it had been working I have not been able to view java apps, I get the error: "java is not installed or unavailable".

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am having issues with Safari Adblock. Running Safari 4.04, Adblock 0.4.0 RC3 in Snow Leopard. Also, running Safari in 32 bit mode. I have been using Safari with Adblock in Snow Leopard since it was released without issue. All of a sudden it just stopped working. Preferences say it is enabled. Restarted Safari, restarted Adblock, restarted the entire PC, checked for updates, and reinstalled Adblock. None of these things worked.

It seems that re-entering the password in the account settings window makes it work for a while, until the next operation starts, then it times out again. Anyone having these problems?
View 7 Replies View RelatedUsing the Apple Mail Client, my G-Mail account stops updating every couple weeks. I found through forums that if I delete the offline cache folder (it's hidden, library-mail-account) everything goes back to normal. Why is this happening and why hasn't it been fixed?

Running 10.9.3 and having an issues with gmail. Been running our business and personal gmail thru Apple mail for years and never had a issue. We have also just switch over to Comcast High Speed business for internet. The issue is this.....first thing in the morning start up the computer and open up mail. The app runs but no new mail comes in. I check my iphone and I'll have 6-7 new emails. I'll hit "Get Mail" a few times and still nothing happens. Now the strange part. If I send and email to anyone within 2-3 seconds I'll get all of my new emails. For the rest of the day its seems like mail is hanging up "Somewhere". The same thing is happening on 2-3 other macs in my company which are set up the same way.

Not by trying to open a new window or going into my history and opening the Apple page. This is really frustrating since I hate Firefox (Way slower than safari has ever been for me) and now I can't even use Safari.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to open a new tab it leaves the new tab blank and changes the tab I'm already working on...doesn't do this all the time, but enough to make it irritating. Basically it makes additional tabs uselesss
Also, if I am working successfully in 2 or more tabs for a while it will freeze on the last URL I used on the newest tab and not allow me to go to any new pages on any of the tabs...the only solution to this seems to be quitting Safari and restarting..PITA
I really like Safari, but it's been doing this to me for a few weeks now. Gonna go back to Firefox for the time being and hope that a future update fixes it.
I don't know what my wife did to her 13" white MacBook, but Firefox is slow as molasses. Safari is working perfectly, but all of her bookmarks are in Firefox. I made sure she was on the correct network, than added opendns settings to DNS. I downloaded and installed the most recent Firefox and repaired permissions on the drive. I rebooted - same problem. Random beachballs causing the app to be useless. Safari works perfectly, so it's not an Internet issue. I haven't tried other apps to be sure but right now it seems confined to Firefox.
