I need to use Google Hangouts for job interview. When I click on the Install Plugin, it downloads but when I get to the Install step I get the rainbow wheel and when I put in my password the popup box shakes back and forth.

I have downloaded OS X Update 10.9.3 on my MacBook Pro at least six times in the last 30 days. However, it never installs. It just downloads everything, asks for a restart to install, but then never installs. The Update section of the App Store keeps telling me that I need to download this update, but I just end up in a continuous loop. How can I solve this?

Since my macbook doesn´t have an OS X anymore I can´t access appstore to download a more recent OS X, like Mavericks.

I have a mid-2010 15 inch Macbook Pro. After putting it off for some time, I went to install the 10.9.3 update. However, after installing the update, the computer won't start! A progress bar appears under the Mac Logo during start-up, but it only gets about 1/5th of the way through, when the bar disappears and then the mac shuts down. I've attempted this at least 5 times and it always does the same thing. I held option during start-up to boot into the Recovery disk, and tried to repair the partition (I also have a bootcamp partition), but it said it was unable to repair.

For a while now I have been getting a lot of ads on all the facebook profiles. It was getting annoying so I googled the problem. I am using a mid 2009 Macbook pro, and just updated to 10.7.4. Since doing this my Flash plugin crashes on both Safari and Firefox so I can't even load Youtube videos. Â I've got the most updated version of Firefox and Flash player, and after looking through forums have tried rebooting my Macbook several times. View 7 Replies View RelatedI've always been as safe as I know how to be with my mac. In case it is relevant, I run sophos security through my school and don't have any pirated software or files. That being said, Safari has been quitting very frequently. Many programs crash for no reason but none as often as safari. The reason it always offers is that something about the microsoft office genuine plugin. I think it's called microsoftofficegenuine.so I don't even run microsoft office... I had a legal 2004 edition a few months ago but it refused to open so I deleted it and now run openoffice. I do have silverlight though, because of netflix.Â
So far to fix the problem I have run software updates & installed those and repaired disk permissions via disk utility. I deleted the "microsoft updates" file (might have been a bad idea) and also, when I try to open this plugin it mentions, or search it on my system, it doesn't show anything, so I can't delete that. I've checked for this new flashback trojan but that website to check your UUID says mine is not reported as being infected...whatever that means. Also, something that has been gradually getting worse over the last few months:

I took my Macbook Pro into the store and they had to delete everything and then reinstall the OS and all my data. I have not had any problems redownloading various applications, but no matter what I do, I cannot install Flashplayer. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, opening the installer directly from the package, etc. There is no version of flash currently on my computer, but still, I cannot download and install it (even an older version).
