After updating my system to 10.7.4, the flash plugin crashes in both Safari and Firefox. Videos don;t so much as start. I reverted back to 10.7.3 with time machine and flash workes fine again. Reinstalled the update, and broken again. Safari and Firefox are all up to date as well as the flash plugin. All caches have been cleared. Based on info I have gotten from this and other forums, I have checked all the settings in the flash system preferences.Â

I am using a mid 2009 Macbook pro, and just updated to 10.7.4. Since doing this my Flash plugin crashes on both Safari and Firefox so I can't even load Youtube videos. Â I've got the most updated version of Firefox and Flash player, and after looking through forums have tried rebooting my Macbook several times. Each time I reboot Youtube videos load a little bit more without crashing, but I havn't got more than 5 seconds into a video yet.Â

it keeps saying i need the flash plugin and no matter how many times i try to view it it wont work,it happens for several other fash things as well, can you view this website on safari? im using a 15in MBP
I've experienced several crashes with Safari 5.0, and noticed something about the dialogue box that appears when it crashes. It says something to the effect of, "The problem could be caused by a Flash plugin." Has that dialogue box been around in previous versions of Safari? Is Apple trying to subtly gain support for their view that Flash should no longer be used?

I recently downloaded the latest version of Flash Player and the plugin seems to keep crashing on all the major browsers including Safari. I am using a Mac Pro Generation 3.1 with OSX Lion. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin and it still keeps crashing.

My specs are as follows:Â Mac OS X 10.7.313" MacBook Air (2nd Gen)Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce 320M 256MBFlash version: 11.1.102Â
A few months ago I noticed that Flash would not load videos on some websites (youtube works fine, but others sometimes show just a circle spinning). Normally I'd simply go to Firefox from Safari if I really wanted to watch a video. I did realize that the file that tends to not load usually encounters an error with the xml file. It usually says it could not find the host server by that name, but this happens accross multiple websites.Â
Now even Firefox has stopped working. I've tried unisntalling and re-installing flash, including older versions to no avail. I also attempted to clear the cache, delete flash folders in the library folder, etc. None of this has worked. The only other solution I've yet to try is that with the Lion update, you have to update your graphics card driver. I went to the nvidia website however, and for my graphics card they do not have a driver out yet.Â

I've read there's a Mac virus that was sent as an Adobe Flash Player update. I downloaded it. Is there anything I should do?

I recently started getting this prompt to get Adobe Flash Player Update on my MacBook Pro with Lion. I downloaded it the first time and now it has got very slow when browsing in Safari. I read about the malware running around, and am a bit worried. I am now getting the same prompt again and wanted to see if it is legit or not to download it.

I know for awhile there was the whole flashback thing with Adobe & I haven't updated Adobe flash player since flashback. Is it safe to update now? & Is it necessary to update Adobe flash player?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've used the tools to verify that I indeed do not have the flashback virus. But I've read it comes from updating flash player I believe, I could be wrong, that's why I'm here. I'm not the most tech savvy, relatively new to macs, how do I know if it's safe to update flash player? I've read numerous people saying if you do so you're screwed, just wanted to make sure before I risk screwing up my mbp.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI received an update request for a new version of the Adobe Flash player this morning. I accepted it and the installation seemed to work fine. The only special was that the last 5% of the installation took some minutes to install.
Minutes later the system (MAC OS Lion) sent a warning that my startup disk is nearly full. The disk had about 150GB free disk space. When I checked it with the finder my disk space was about 350 MB and declining. I disconnected the MacBook from the internet and the the declining of the available disk size stopped.Â
If I check the disk information (using the finder) of the harddrive and it showed only 350MB as free. If I check the size of the folders on the top layer and add them together I should still have about 150GB of free disk space.Â

Every time I attempt to watch a video or Netflix, my player won't work and tell me to download the new version. I do so, and restart the browser and they tell me the same thing. I have tried deleting the old versions and emptying the trash, I have tried restarting my computer, I have no firewall up. Nothing will make them work.

A mate has a late 2006 polycarbonate white plastic case Core2Duo 24" iMac. Did the 10.6.5 Combo update, now Flash doesn't work in Safari but it does work in Chrome and Firefox. He's uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, then Safari, been through the Adobe troubleshooting, repaired permissions etc. Still Flash videos won't work in Safari.

Since updating to 10.7.4 yesterday, I've noticed that YouTube and other online Flash videos stutter, stop and continue playing, or pause frequently. Has anyone else noticed this bug? I'm using the newest version of Chrome but tried Safari as well and noticed the same kind of bug.

IS my MAC infected with something or is this normal? I always click the red X to close the window. It just pops up once in a while. It's my understanding that it would not be wise to install flash player, so i havent. But why is there an update window that keeps popping up?

For the last month or so I've been getting pop up messages on my system that I have to update Flash Payer.Â
I click the link, download the installation dmg, double click the installer, 4/5ths of the way through it says it can't complete the operation. (I close all browsers etc. )Â
Google Chrome is running the latest version of Flash as it does it automatically (v14), but Safari and presumably anything else that uses Flash is running v13.
I have a MAC OSX 10.5.8, after the recent software update my flash player no longer works.I have read that there is a problem with security for the version of flash that I was using and this is the reason it was disabled. However, I have tried to download the most recent version from the Adobe website, but nothing happens and a message says I already have flash installed on my computer.Â
I have a version of flash in my HD>>Library>>Internet plug-ins, and there is also one in HD>>Library>>Internet plug-ins (Disabled) which I have tried to move but it only lets you copy it and it seems unable to be moved back to HD>>Library>>Plug-ins I have also tried to download the "No Script" addon for Firefox so that I can at least have flash working in Firefox, but that doesn't seem to be downloading either. I cannot now watch videos, listen to my favourite radio stations or even upload pics to ebay to create ebay listings. This problem ruining my internet enjoyment and I just hope that it can be fixed again. How dare Apple just do this without any warning or giving any info on how to easily fix this problem once flash has been disabled.

Was having Adobe shockwave/flash problems while running Chrome, which is not completely unheard of. Restarted my MacBook Pro (OS X 10.6.8), which included a software update (though I'm not sure exactly what programs were updated). Now Chrome will not run at all. Every time I start, it crashes immediately. Have tried SEVERAL times to trash/download it, but the same version seems to keep appearing in my Applications folder. Have also tried trashing the Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome folder to no avail. Appears back in its place after dragging it to the trash. Â
In addition, Adobe flash videos for Safari and Firefox (which I just downloaded as a tester) also will not work. Each attempt to update Adobe Flash also ends in a crash. And now I've discovered the same for everything Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). The program shuts down and the Microsoft error message appears breifly, followed by the same crash "Mircrosoft Word Error Reporting Quit Unexpectedly" box. Â Again, have tried several times to download Chrome & Adobe Flash to no avail. All system updates have been made to date. What to do next?
