I have an HDMI to Mini display port cord hooked up from my tv to my Macbook Air and I an get everything to work except the sound on the tv. The cord also has audio supposedly.
Do I need to change something in preferences or setting somewhere??
i have a JVC Everio camcorder and when ever i try and upload a movie into imovie 08 the picture is there but the sound is not.

I have just purchased a set of logitech x-530 speakers to go with my 2010 MBP. It was a bit of a rushed buy without much research and as such I have realised that the computer doesn't seem to have the appropriate soundcard to produce 5.1 sound (is this correct). View 7 Replies View RelatedI have had no problems with my MacBook Pro until recently. I am working on a summer research project so I do not usually get the time to visit an Apple Store, turn in my computer for a day and wait.
When I lift my computer while its still on, it gives me a weird beeping noise which won't stop. I always have to manually shut it down by using the power button. It work perfectly well when I switch it on again. But if I lift it in the air or if it gets out of sync with the line of gravity, the same beeping occurs.
I guess I heard some particle go around inside my Mac when I tried to tilt it when in power off mode. Should I open it and check or is it too bad?
At present, I am backing up my research data. My work would suffer a lot if I have to submit my computer for repairs even for a single day.

I don't get sound on google doodles on my Macbook despite the fact that that the doodles intend to have sound. Suggestions to turn off extensions, etc have not worked. I use Chrome, safari or firefox. No sound on any. Otherwise, my sound is working fine-on iTunes etc.

The little box next to mute is checked and I cannot un-check it because it's grayed out. They told me there was water damage and the logic board was broke so it would be 600 to fix it. I couldnt believe it. The sound no longer works on my computer, however when I check in system preferences it says everthing is fime, also the microphone still works. All I did was un plug my headphones from the computer. I did go to system preferences and changed it back to internal speakers, but that did nothing.

I've had my imac for under two years, and just recently I noticed it making an odd humming/buzzing sound at times. It's not the normal sound you hear when your hard drive is working hard, it's definitely different. It's not the speakers either, it happens whether they are on or muted.
My suspicion may be that it has something to do with the power. That's because I've been bug testing a mac beta game, and it often crashes my computer, and I have to manually turn off my computer by holding down the power button until it cuts the power.
Does anyone know why this may be and how I can prevent it/fix it?
