i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/
My Macbookpro crashes while updating. It says " executing scripts" and than nothing more happens... I can wait all day but it stays in that screenmode.
I need to upgrade update do whatever to this computer... its a MAC OS X 10.4.11 and its not updating anything anymore. i just need to be pointed in the right direction on how to fix this badboy. i cant afford to buy a new laptop and i really want to stick with MAC products.
I have an old white Macbook 2,1 (Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GHz, 2GB RAM).Most of the applications fail to update since I'm still running a OS 10.4.11 I've tried to run the installers from Snow Leopard and Leopard but both of them fail to run giving the message a message like "Can't install in this computer".Which is the most advanced OS that I can install in this laptop? Moreover, due to the old OS, I couldn't update my iPhone. Until I solve the issue of the Mac, how can i update my iPhone using the Mac of a friend of mine without losing anything (contacts, apps, pictures...)
I want to update the motherboard drivers on my late 08 15" MBP, but arent 100% what chipset it uses... i thought it was the nforce 7series, but 7 what? or what is the actual chipset? CPUID wont give me any info
I just updated my MacBook Pro to Lion. After install restart the computer is stuck on the white screen with the apple logo and spinning wheel. I manually restarted it after 1 hour but that didn't solve the issue. What do I do?
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Core 2 Duo), Mac OS X (10.6.8), 4 Gig Ram
I updated software yesterday or two days ago. Ever since then my mac has been so loud. I turned it off a few times and restarted it, but it is the same. I guess its the fan that is making this noise, but really annoying me. version 10.6.8 now.
I have a Macbook Pro 1.1 2GH with 1 processor Intel Core Duo and I want to upgrade my Operating system to Tiger and eventually beyond but it does not seem possible because of the the nature on the processor. Is there anything else I can do to upgrade or I am stick with what I have? I am currently running 10.4.11 before Tiger.
It has been a spinning wheel of death and default background. It has been like that for 6+ hours. Im scared to turn it off because I want it to update.
I was wondering if it is possible to update to a solid state drive without having to give up a kidney through Apple.
I found a 64GB solid state drive for $140 from an online store. Does the Air need a special hard drive, or any generic one will do? And if any of you have a solid state drive what is your experience with it?
I'm hoping to update my RAM to the maximum allowed by my machine and would like to know how to find out what the upper limit on my machine is. I'm currently using a Blackbook and have listed the System Details below.
Code: Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook3,1 Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed:2.2 GHz Number Of Processors:1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 4 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed:800 MHz SMC Version (system):1.24f2 Sudden Motion Sensor: State: Enabled
Does anyone know what the upper limit of the machine I have is - or how to find it (is it 4GB or 6GB, not 100% sure. I think its 4GB), the best place to purchase the RAM and most importantly, what to look at when purchasing it. I know so far it's DDR2 667MHz.
Ever since I have updated my Macbook Pro to the newest version of OS, it will go into a sleep mode when I close the lid that I can only wake with powering off the entire computer. I used to be able to close the lid for the night, open it in the morning, and it would be like I never even left it overnight. Now I try to wake it up with pushing everything possible. Is this new to the update? I even tried to set the settings to "never sleep".
I use iCloud for my iphone 4, ipad 2, and MacBook Pro, all synced wirelessly via iTunes. However I can't get Address Book on the MacBook to update via iCloud. I've tried everything I can think of including deleting all entries and starting again, deleting the icloud account in preferences, ticking and unticking the enable box beside it, ticking and unticking the icloud box for contacts in system preferences (removing all entries at the same time).
I've selected the icloud account as the address book but it's still not seeing the contacts entries that I can see with my own eyes on the icloud website. It's never worked but I've turned a blind eye to it, since having got over the multiple entries and lost diaries fiasco when I first started to use it I've chosen to ignore the next problem.
Whenever I update to the new operating system when it is released next month, is it possible to update while restoring to factory defauts at the same time?
I am helping a friend update his macbook from tiger to snow leopard, if i put in the disk will he still have all of his stuff or does he need to back everything up?
When I update my software (using system update), the computer updates perfectly. However, when the update is completed, the computer turns itself off, instead of restarting like it used to.Â
After this, when I hit the power button to turn it back on, the power light comes on, but then it turns itself back off again. I usually have to hold the power button in for about 5-10 seconds, and repeat this a couple of times to actually get it to turn on.Â
I have also noticed that a file in the recycle bin called "recovered files" is being created after the process.Â
A while back, I made the huge mistake of hitting the power button in the middle of an update (eeeek!) and I think this may have caused the issue.
I was trying to update my software on my macbook pro and it says i have no enough space on my hard disc. I dont understand why bec i naver download and install anyting that used up all my hard disc.
