I re-ripped one of my CDs recently (for reasons of no importance), and I noticed that the audio improved. There was less distortion and I could notice more details (smoother sound). I tried this with a few more albums, and the result was the same each time: better sound. This confused me; how does ripping actually work? And what could be responsible for the sound difference? P.S. X Lossless Decoder also produces results different from iTunes.

How can I start up mac OS before I have to log into a windows...the problem is my windows os activation has expire and I cannot get into it. I have tried holding shift key after I press power button but nothing is happening. It is always trying get me to windows. I don't have installation cd's and internet connections.

A previous respondant to an earlier thread about this problem on devices with Safari said they fixed the problem by going into iTunes and "unsubscribing or deactivating" the "iTunes in the Cloud" option; but I don't have that option when I go to my settings. I can see the "iTunes in the Cloud" section; but my only option given there is "Manage Devices", which leads me to a screen where my only option is to sever the connection between my APPLE ID and my iPhone, which I don't want to do. And for the record, I don't have iTunes Match, and have no interest in it.Â
i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/

I have tried removing it as well as reference to it in receipts and library-preferences, but when I reinstall I get the same message. I downloaded another trial code, but it still tells me that it is expired. Where does mac store this information, or what other file do i need to remove to actually use to 30 day trial.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have XP installed in my Intel Macbook Pro in the separate partition created by boot camp. Recently while I was running on XP the computer crashed badly and XP system seemed to have been damaged and I can't boot as XP anymore. I would like to simply erase the XP partition and merge it with the main drive. But the problem is that Boot Camp got expired and I can't use the application to do that. Can anyone tell me how I can do that?? I am guessing that Disk Utility would be the one to use but I want to make sure I know what I am doing before I screw up anything.

I've noticed since i've done the latest OSX and iTune updates on my Macbook, that iTune will often freeze, esp if i have it running along any other apps, such as safari, firefox, or just even if my screen saver comes on while the music plays. The activity monitor will show iTune as Not Responding.. therefore i always have to Force Quit the application. if I dont do so, the whole system will freeze and i'll require to reboot it with the power button..
anyone else noticing this problem? I noticed that my other macbook pro does the same, thought I'd throw the question out there and see if other ppl are experiencing the same issue.
I have a Power Mac G4 with dual 1.25GHz Power PC G4 processor with 2Gb SDRAM.I am on OS X 10.5.8.Three questions:
1) Can I go to 10.6 or higher?
2) If I change the processor out to an Intel, can I go higher?
3) Is there any upgrades that would allow me to put a later OS X version on it, and if there is, is it worth upgrading?

I bought an airport express about 2 months ago, it was working perfectly until today when it stopped working all of a sudden. It doesn't appear in my wireless networks list and it doesn't appear in airport utility either.
The light is constantly amber, never flashing and it only turns green for a second after turning it on, then goes back to amber.
I tried to do a hard reset but it doesn't flash the 4 green lights. It just flashes amber for about 15 seconds and then the light turns off completely until I let go the reset button, then it goes back to the constant amber... really strange.
I need to plug in the older apple cinema display (2003) to the newest g5 tower. the plug does not match. suggestions for an adapter?

I uninstalled it then installed it again but to no avail. This only started since updating to the latest version.
Am I the only one here, and what could I do to fix it?
iTunes offers for PodCasts and iTunesU to automatically download the newest or all episodes. Issue: With iTunesU or old postcasts one has to download ALL podcasts just to be able to listen to the next one. e.g. pocast created in 2007 and updated weekly ... why should I download all of them, or only listen to the newest ones? Could a "next" be added to the download behavior?Â

Bought my IMac a year ago, got the applecare plan and am good until 2014; however, it would be great if I could renew my applecare plan after the initial plan. or just before, the plan expires. The applecare staff is great to deal with, but it's a nice feeling to know that I can access them after the first 3 yrs. of ownership. I bought my IMac with the knowledge that I wouldn't need to upgrade my hardware as often as I did with a PC, and although I understand I can still recieve assistance on a case by case basis, it would be easier, and more cost effective, to have the option of extending my plan if I choose to. Just a thought. and am hoping that Apple will listen and offer something for its customers like this. Am an owner of the IMac, and IPad2, Ipod touch and will be buying an IPhone 5 when they are released.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an airport base station that was setup and working properly in my home office. I change locations within my home and now it will not work correctly. Literally, all I did was unplug and plug everything back in. The internet connection is working fine. I plugged it directly into the computer and it works.
I got frustrated and reset it back to factory defaults and reinstalled it and now it still doesn't work.
I can get the internet to work through the ethernet port, if I set the ip to 10.0.1.1
However, I cannot get the airport to work at all. I did notice that the ip when it sets it automatically, was a 169 ip.
My EOS Utiity for Cannon Rebel T3i doesn't work with Newest OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.1.I can't retrieve my photos from my camera Â
