OS X :: Unable To Updating Latest Security Update 2009-001 And Java 10.5 Update 3?
Feb 14, 2009I have problems since applying the latest security Update 2009-001 and Java 10.5 Update 3, I have 10.5.6 on the new unibody 2.4ghz and have completely lost the ability to connect to my wireless access point which is an apple airport extreme base station.
I can sometimes se the base station but cannot connect to it and sometimes cannot see it at all. I have three other apple computers at home all less then a year old running the same build of 10.5.6 but have not updated them and they all are fine.
This one was perfect untill I applied the update.
The machine I am having problems with is partitioned with windows 7 beta on it which has no problems connecting to the base station, which indicates that its not a hardware problem but more then likely the update which is causing the problem.
Is there a way to uninstall the last update or delete it? Any one with a similar problem or know how I can fix it, I have googled but cannot seem to find anyone with similar problems.

Feb 5, 2009i had my friends white book and when i opened the air port it found the linksys wireless G router i had had connected but it didnt ask me for the password.
I know i set a password for the linksys router because when i log on using my HP it ask me for the password.
Question is what did i do wrong? or are the linksys wireless routers not the best things to use with the mac?

OS X :: Unable To Unlock Security Preferences?
Oct 20, 2009I recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6 from OS X 10.5, but after that I have been unable to unlock the security preferences. Also whenever I try to install any software or update, instead of asking me the administrator password, the system does nothing, no dialog box appears. When I tried to unlock the security preferences in the System Preferences, after the clicking the 'lock' icon, the status bar shows "Authenticating....." for a couple of settings but nothing happens after that!
I am using Intel MacBook with Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 1 GB RAM
Safari :: Unable To Open MS Office 2004 After Updating To 5.1.4
Mar 18, 2012I was not having any problems until I updated my Safari to the latest version, 5.1.4. Now I can't get into any of my MS Office applications or my HP Director. I get a message saying "____ quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically". But when I select 'Reopen' it keeps on returnng to that page which is filled with details that don't mean anything to me - lots of numbers and the repeated use of the word 'crash'. All I can do is select 'OK' which closes that box but doesn't open the apps.

Dec 7, 2008I'm trying to make an iTunes Store account with my mother's MasterCard. Everything in the setup process goes well until I hit the part when I must enter in my three-digit security code. I do so, then proceed. iTunes won't proceed because it appears I have not entered a valid security code. But the problem is, it is in fact valid: I've used it before for other things and it works fine. I've triple-checked; it's kinda hard to incorrectly type a three-digit number.

Jan 20, 2009I am wondering if I am getting a good transfer rate on my time capsule. (Using leopard). If I alt (option) click on the airport icon on the top of the screen, I can get details to my network. One of the details is transfer. I am assuming this is the speed of my network. Do you know what this is measured in? When I have the time capsule as a G router I get a transfer of 130. When I have the TC as an N router, I get a transfer of 200 - 264. Can anyone tell me if these numbers are good, or do I need to do something to get the numbers closer to where they should be.

Windows SharePoint Services v3 should work according to that link with Safari+2.
This is the version we are using for our intranet, but my Safari just will not allow it. It is forever requesting me for Name and Password. However when I type the said details in, it just pops up and prompts me once again. So I'm guessing this is an authentication issue? It's becoming really annoying and I'd really like to get around it without having to run XP along side OSX just for Intranet page.
