View 6 RepliesI never used Messages on my Mac but after I started using handoff now I wanted to use it.So after I opened my Messages app on my mac and typed in my ID Password the window opened but just stayed white.I receive the messages people write me, but only iMessage messages, no sms messages, but everytime I want to reply the window stays white.Also I can't open the preferences it's like the app is not opening completely? Why that happens?

I really need help with this; I've searched "iphoto won't open" and many other variations of that, but I haven't found anything the same as my situation. When I click the iPhoto icon on the dock, it bounces once... and then stops, without opening or doing anything else. It does the same if I open it through finder->applications. It's driving me crazy!! I have a MacBook with Tiger OS X 10.4.11, iPhoto 7.1.5 and NO tech experience.

Ive just done an archive and install on my computer today becuase my safari was like that and now my it works. I've been using my MacBook Pro for about five months with no problems. It's equiped with VMWare Fusion, and I do most of my work there in windows. Saturday, morning, all of a sudden, I started getting the "application quit unexpectedly message" with nearly every application I tried to open in both platforms (Safari and the entry to VMWare). I haven't added any software/hardware lately, and the computer worked well Friday evening.
Any clues as to how I might resolve the situation from here would be greatly appreciated.

I told myself not to do it. Don't update the Safari software to 4.0, you know how they always mess up these things. And yet, per accident I did. Of course Safari 4.0 doesn't work. Every time I open it, it shuts down. iChat also doesn't work anymore, and even the Dashboard shuts down every now and then. In addition, the computer feels incredibly slow. I can't download rapidshare links on iGetter anymore and everything just feels wrong. Countless threads have been opened on this matter with a variety of different problems for different people. Yet I have not read a proper solution. I have seen all kinds of technical solutions being offered but I'm not a computer wiz and I do not know the terms they use. I just want to go back to Safari 3.2 or at least the one before the 4.0 But I read that deleting Safari 4 and reinstalling 3.2 won't work because of a certain webkit that got installed with it, making it impossible to go back.

The internet i've got is vergin so normally is very fast.Downstairs where we have a desktop computer connected to the D-link is working as normal.
When I open the network diagnostics in mac it shows : wi fi is green , wi-fi settings is green, network settings is failed(red), ISP failed(red), Internet failed (red), server failed red.

My Mail Icon shows 3 unread messages. When I open Mail, my iCloud account icon shows only 1 unread message which I cannot find. When I check iCloud.com, there are no unread messages. I launched Mail as I ordinarily do. It opened up, but the header bar was grayed out. Finally I managed to open program via Message/Go To/ Inbox, but no messages appeared in any of my mailboxes (even though I had several still in there from today). When I double click on my hard drive icon, the finder briefly appears then disappears (just a split second) I cannot open the hard drive folder without it immediately closing. I'm trying to get a Macbook's iSight working. The Macbook is running Leopard, currently. When I go to open Photo Booth, I get the camera icon with a slash through it - indicating the camera isn't connected/available. The same problem happens with other applications. I don't believe it is listed in System Profiler, though if it was listed as something other than "iSight" I could have missed it.
I tried a few applications that are supposed to kick start it, reset the P Ram, reset the SMC, etc to no avail.
