I really love the magsafe connection. It's very easy and handy.The fact that it works with magnetism is nice. Especially when you accidentally trip over the wire. It will release itself from the computer.But now with the macbook air 11.6" the weight is so low that you will pull the computer with it when you trip over the wire.

i have a problem with my bootcamp. I had installed all of the drivers and everything works fine excepts the wireless connection which is very slow. I had internet connection but it is very very slow and thats not right... i installed the 2.1 drivers from my Mac Disc. Any suggestions how to fix this ?

my girlfriend and I live in different cities and our main way of communication is using iChats Video Chat. Before I moved I was on Comcast cable internet and used a Microsoft base station as my wifi router. We never had a problem with connecting to our video chats. She is on Optimum optonline cable internet with a netgear router. Now I have moved in to another place with a friend and we just got Embarq DSL, I am using their 660R router into an older linksys router my roommate had. Now we can never connect to video chat. We alway get the communication error when we try. I even tried hooking my base station up but for some reason I see the wifi but the internet never works for me then. If anyone has any insight on what I can maybe do would be great. I have tried apples test AIM names appleu3test01, 02 and 03. They work for me and I get mac's commercial streaming to me.

After plugging ethernet in to it, it's going as fast as DSL should be.. 10-15x faster than it is over wireless. I work in the oil and gas industry in Alberta and stay at camps often..When I connect the same laptop there my torrent download speed is terrible (10-15kb's/sec) even though downloads are permitted and many of the pc laptop users don't have a problem with the speeds. Primarily use vuze but have tried a few other torrent downloaders..Is there something within my computer settings or downloader settings that slowing me down and if so could you provide any advice on how to over come this.

I have an 24" iMac with v10.5, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I bought it a year ago, add a month or so... So after I got all the glitches with Finder, I transported Applications, Documents, Music, Pictures and some other folders on my desktop to an external Hard Disk, when I finished with ERASE & INSTALL, Finder doesn't crash, but it's VERY VERY slow, for example, in my iTunes Music folder, I have about 560 folders, and when I click SELECT ALL(on the keyboard) it stops for maybe a minute or so, and then I try to copy them to a folder, when i try to drag them, it stops for 2 minutes or so... I haven't even copied much from the external Hard Disk. Except going back to Tiger, is there any other way, because my iMac is...not new, but not old enough to have those glitches... PLEASE HELP ME, this isn't the first time, this is actually my 3rd time doing a reinstall, 2 ARCHIVE AND INSTALL's and 1 ERASE AND INSTALL... what could it be?

Using Preferential Treatment, it appears that ./com.apple.SystemLogin.Items.plist is corrupt (Cannot parse a NULL or zero-length data).
If this is relevant, how can I delete/repair it?
Recently switching from a PC to mac, I am still knew to the computer. I switched because I thought I wouldn't have to worry bout the mac running slow due to excess software such as virus protection. My macbook takes a very long time to load ALL internet pages. I know my connection is fine because my old computer, which is about 6 years old, runs super quick on the internet. Is there something I don't know. Are there any certain settings I should be looking at? I feel like I should save some money and just get dial-up! I do have a cable internet connection. Its wired in, not wireless, if that makes a difference.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iMac is very slow. It only works on wifi. Ive got good cat 6 hard wire to cox business and its fast internet. but it wont work on the network. it says i need an ip address. it says the internet is connected but needs an ip address. Ive got it on dhcp auto. but not working. All other computers work fine with dhcp. It says the computer is connected but does not have an ip address. Not possible if its set in dhcp as that is supposed to give you a rolling ip address. Ive got a cisco gigabit switch that is working well with 10 - 15 other computers working fine on it. Ive changed the port multiple times in the switch. rebooted of course. nothing works.Â

I will be getting a MBP but I will need more storage, hence the external hard drive. I wanted to buy time capsule but I read that it is not possible to partition it. So, would I be better off with an external hard drive(FireWire 800) that I can actually partition or get time capsule which offers the wireless connection. As for the speed I guess the wireless connection with time capsule must be pretty slow?
