Like two months ago, my MBP started to work really slow when not plugged to electricity, but as soon as I plug it in, my MBP works perfectly. I already sent it to apple for they to fix it, but they solved other issued except for that one. Please, any idea what could it be.

Problem: Once shut off, my Macbook pro won't turn on by pressing the power button. It is as if I must jump start the computer using the power cord. What is interesting is that if I push the power button (without the power cord plugged in) the macbook won't turn on, then, when I plug the power cord in, the computer magically turns on without my PRESSING the power button. It is as if the computer knows it has been told to turn on but is waiting for more electricity.Â
When the computer is on, The power button also doesn't react when I press it. As recall, on macs, pressing the power button quickly creates a pop up menu that asks if:Â
a. you want to shut down the computer
b. restart the computer
c. put the computer to sleepÂ
This computer will shut off if I hold the power button down but does not give me the pop up options.Â
Battery appears to be in good health. Though it has been through 780 cycles. Coconut battery says that the battery is fine. This Macbook Pro's Sd slot stopped working as well.Â

I just installed a Seagate 500gb, 7200rpm hard drive in my 13" MBP that was updated to EFI Firmware Update 1.7. Clean install of OS X and iLife '09 & iWork '09 went fast. It's quite and fast compared to my old Samsung 500gb, 5400rpm hard drive. It was worth the $120 I spent on it!
View 12 Replies View RelatedI really love the magsafe connection. It's very easy and handy.The fact that it works with magnetism is nice. Especially when you accidentally trip over the wire. It will release itself from the computer.But now with the macbook air 11.6" the weight is so low that you will pull the computer with it when you trip over the wire.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI had problems with Finder, it just crashed on me when I opened folders that had a bit more files. I have an 24" iMac with v10.5, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I bought it a year ago, add a month or so... So after I got all the glitches with Finder, I transported Applications, Documents, Music, Pictures and some other folders on my desktop to an external Hard Disk, when I finished with ERASE & INSTALL, Finder doesn't crash, but it's VERY VERY slow, for example, in my iTunes Music folder, I have about 560 folders, and when I click SELECT ALL(on the keyboard) it stops for maybe a minute or so, and then I try to copy them to a folder, when i try to drag them, it stops for 2 minutes or so... I haven't even copied much from the external Hard Disk. Except going back to Tiger, is there any other way, because my iMac is...not new, but not old enough to have those glitches... PLEASE HELP ME, this isn't the first time, this is actually my 3rd time doing a reinstall, 2 ARCHIVE AND INSTALL's and 1 ERASE AND INSTALL... what could it be?

DiskWarrior and Tech Tool Pro has failed to resolve the issue. Disc utility repair using the original installation disc hasn't helped either.
Using Preferential Treatment, it appears that ./com.apple.SystemLogin.Items.plist is corrupt (Cannot parse a NULL or zero-length data).
If this is relevant, how can I delete/repair it?
Safari has been running slow for me lately. There is no problem with my internet connection. I have firefox too and it works blazing fast. So, why does safari run really slow?

i have a problem with my bootcamp. I had installed all of the drivers and everything works fine excepts the wireless connection which is very slow. I had internet connection but it is very very slow and thats not right... i installed the 2.1 drivers from my Mac Disc. Any suggestions how to fix this ?
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy iMac is very slow. It only works on wifi. Ive got good cat 6 hard wire to cox business and its fast internet. but it wont work on the network. it says i need an ip address. it says the internet is connected but needs an ip address. Ive got it on dhcp auto. but not working. All other computers work fine with dhcp. It says the computer is connected but does not have an ip address. Not possible if its set in dhcp as that is supposed to give you a rolling ip address. Ive got a cisco gigabit switch that is working well with 10 - 15 other computers working fine on it. Ive changed the port multiple times in the switch. rebooted of course. nothing works.Â

I've been suffering of slow speed on my macbook pro, and this happens when I unplug it from power and just let the battery works itself, then the % CPU usage increases dramatically to 330%Â and the laptop becomes very very slow, what should I do? I was using my macbook pro at a client, working fine.I put it in my back and head back to the office and one hour later when I go to wake it from sleep, I notice the pulsing light is not on.The battery still had a charge, so I tried turning it on and all that would happen is a brief blip of the white light and then it would power off. If I held down the power button, I would hear the DVD drive starting up but as soon as I let go, it would power off or if I held it long enough, the light would flash rapidly and then it would power off. I tried resetting the SMC controller, reseating the RAM, different RAM, and even taking the top case off to make sure no cables were loose.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo I recently downloaded the beta for safari and a couple weeks later out of no where it became compeltly unresponsive, I just get a spinning beach ball when I try to open it. I have attempted to uninstall it and go back to safari 3, unistall and reinstall the beta and I either way I get nothing. I even used time machine to go back and it still wont work. Luckily I had firefox installed so I am using this now. Either way I want Safari back though. I created a test user on my macbook just to see if safari would work and sure enough it works fine on this new test log in. So what does this mean and how can I fix it to work on my normal account?

View 4 Replies View RelatedTitle says it all. lol Spilled coffee on my late 2008 Unibody MacBook. Thankfully, I had a keyboard cover. Some coffee still got underneath it though, and a few keys are sticky.
However, it still works. But I'm just wondering if I should still disassemble it to clean. I'm scared the sugar and coffee will start rotting at some point...
im on a 17 in i7 ag 500gb machine.
i use skype everyday but i just noticed that the sound from skype is coming only from the right speaker. its weird though because any other sounds from skype, like alerts, come from both. all other sounds are fine on the comp. i tried looking through the settings and nothing is there that i saw that could fix this.
How good does it work? Does Snow Leopord run as smooth with the Intel GPU as with the 320M/330M? The intel GPU does not support OpenCL I heard, so when SL will make use of OpenCL alot, you need to activate the 330M all the time then?

is anyone successfully using DragonDictate on MacBook Pro? I have a desktop iMac and DragonDictate works well enough on that but it's not working on my older MacBook (which I need for my office).
