Like two months ago, my MBP started to work really slow when not plugged to electricity, but as soon as I plug it in, my MBP works perfectly. I already sent it to apple for they to fix it, but they solved other issued except for that one. Please, any idea what could it be.
I had problems with Finder, it just crashed on me when I opened folders that had a bit more files. I have an 24" iMac with v10.5, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I bought it a year ago, add a month or so... So after I got all the glitches with Finder, I transported Applications, Documents, Music, Pictures and some other folders on my desktop to an external Hard Disk, when I finished with ERASE & INSTALL, Finder doesn't crash, but it's VERY VERY slow, for example, in my iTunes Music folder, I have about 560 folders, and when I click SELECT ALL(on the keyboard) it stops for maybe a minute or so, and then I try to copy them to a folder, when i try to drag them, it stops for 2 minutes or so... I haven't even copied much from the external Hard Disk. Except going back to Tiger, is there any other way, because my iMac is...not new, but not old enough to have those glitches... PLEASE HELP ME, this isn't the first time, this is actually my 3rd time doing a reinstall, 2 ARCHIVE AND INSTALL's and 1 ERASE AND INSTALL... what could it be?
each 10-20 sec it shows me this damn "Volleyball" and loads for about 10-15 sec. i can't do a thing :-/This is happening for about 3-4 days now.sometimes it works very well for about 3-5 minutes, but then it slows down again :-/working with skype, itunes, internet browser...nothing works fluent :/itunes stops playing songs while loading.
I really love the magsafe connection. It's very easy and handy.The fact that it works with magnetism is nice. Especially when you accidentally trip over the wire. It will release itself from the computer.But now with the macbook air 11.6" the weight is so low that you will pull the computer with it when you trip over the wire.
Safari has been running slow for me lately. There is no problem with my internet connection. I have firefox too and it works blazing fast. So, why does safari run really slow?
I have a 13 inch Macbook Pro that sometimes it works fine, but it always suddenly slows down and doesn't fix itself, but the moment I plug it into the electrical power it normalizes itself and works fast without a problem.
Just got a new iMac and when I use safari, my connection is VERY slow. I have my old imac and other NB's running on the same home network and they work very fast and work fine. my new imac seems to show the address it's going to but sits there for literally min's before it connects or if it connects.

i have a problem with my bootcamp. I had installed all of the drivers and everything works fine excepts the wireless connection which is very slow. I had internet connection but it is very very slow and thats not right... i installed the 2.1 drivers from my Mac Disc. Any suggestions how to fix this ?
My iMac is very slow. It only works on wifi. Ive got good cat 6 hard wire to cox business and its fast internet. but it wont work on the network. it says i need an ip address. it says the internet is connected but needs an ip address. Ive got it on dhcp auto. but not working. All other computers work fine with dhcp. It says the computer is connected but does not have an ip address. Not possible if its set in dhcp as that is supposed to give you a rolling ip address. Ive got a cisco gigabit switch that is working well with 10 - 15 other computers working fine on it. Ive changed the port multiple times in the switch. rebooted of course. nothing works.Â
I finally took plunge and grabbed a new mini. I have it wired directly to my airport and the web browsing is slow on it. For example I will go to engadget.com and it will only load half way and then just stop. I thought maybe my internet was going crazy but my windows desktop connected "right next to it on airport" loads instantly.
It does this on different web sites. I even did the safari reset but its same issue. Any suggestions on what I can do to trouble shoot? I dont want to take this thing back.
I was also wondering if there was a way to Mirror my display but with two different resolutions? I have googled this and cant find a straight answer at least not from anything posted in last couple years....
I have 1900x1200 on my Pc display and I have an HDMI going under house to My 65" Plasma which is 1900x1080
Any software tweaks I can do? This is a permanent setup with the ipad as the remote....
I'm not new to Macs, I've owned a 20" iMac which I sold after 6 months, a 24" iMac which I sold after 9 months, and a 13.3" MBP which I returned after 7 days (I didn't like Mac OS X on the small screen; I'm not really sure why). I have been considering selling my PC and buying a Mac Mini, since I cannot really afford an iMac at this point in time. My concern is that the majority of Mini users I've seen on forums use it as a home theater solution, rather than as a desktop. I'm worried that I might find it to be slow compared to my current PC and the previous Macs I've owned (though the current specs seem to match the specs of the MBP I just returned). I don't do much on my computer besides web surfing, E-mail, browsing YouTube, and writing papers for my college classes. Does the mini work well as a desktop? Given the light nature of my use, would a Mini work well for me as a desktop, or should I hold off until I can afford an iMac?
Any new news on what card with mini display out will work with the 27" imac? I want to buy a new card for my gaming PC, but dont have room for 2 monitors and would like to use the 27" Heard there were a problem with 5? series? has this been fixed or anything other cards i can use?
My mac mini (2010) has started to not show up CDs lately. I insert an audio CD and it comes up with a message that I have inserted a blank CD. When I do the same in Boot Camp (windows 7) it works fine. I am running Lion. This didn't happen when I installed Lion, it happened only in the last couple of weeks. I tried the method in one post about creating a new user account and trying from there, but to no avail.
I had not used my external monitor in the last several weeks. I believe there have been a few OSX Lion updates since the last time I used the external monitor. I had installed all the updates prior to connecting my external monitor again. However, a few days ago I tried to connect the external monitor and all I get is a "No Signal" message on my external monitor. The Mini DisplayPort to HDMI works on my LCD TV, so I know the MDP works. I have also replaced the MDP-to-DVI cord and the external display still doesn't work.Â
I connected the external monitor to another computer running Snow Leopard and the external monitor works. So, the external monitor does work.Â
I have seen a few posts aboout this, but nobody seems to have a solution that works or is directly on point to my issue. I have tried to use all the scenarios for plugging in the external monitor and external monitor power. I tried to reboot the laptop with and withoout the external monitor connected. Same thing with the exteernal monitor plugged in and no power, etc. Nothing works. I have tried to repeatedly turn the external monitor on and off while connected to the MacBook. Again, that doesn't work. Here is what I am running:Â

After restarting, Safari suddenly doesn't load any webpages. It shows all the top sites in the favorites area and actually updates some to the most recent versions, but when you try to get to the site it shows the loading bar to about an 1/8th of the way and then just pin wheels. Firefox works fine. I have used the reset to no avail. Have the current version and have been running it for a while with no problems. Â
I have a 2009 unibody macbook pro. I have 42 in lcd tv. I have a minidisplay to vga adapter and a vga cable. When I try to connect the monitor to the mbp when the lid is open nothing is detected. I do not get any options to change to mirror mode or am able to change any settings regarding the monitor. I can change the resolution of the built in display only. Now for the twist. If I connect everything, do a restart and close the lid, as the computer boots up the external monitor works. Its the grey boot screen with the apple logo. But as soon as the computer begins to load the desktop, the monitor losses the signal. At first I thought it was going into sleep mode, so I hooked up a usb mouse to keep the computer awake. I tried the process again, and as soon as it goes to the desktop it losses the signal. So I don't think it is sleep mode.  I downloaded the minidisplay prot firmware update, but because the screen is not detected when the lid is open I cant run it. When the lid is closed the computer either goes to sleep or doesn't send the desktop signal and I still cant run it. Nothing happens if I change between the video cards (9400 and 9600gm). Is it a resolution issue? Do the vga cables have a max resolution that is lower than 1900 x 1200?Â
I haven't been able to send or receive iMessages on my Macbook Pro or my iPad. They do not receive any incoming messages or have the ability to send out any messages. Every time I try to send a message to a phone number REGISTERED WITH IMESSAGE, this error message pops up. Even though iMessage refuses to work on both my iPad and my Macbook, it has been working flawlessly on my iPhone. Every number that I try (and fail) to send an iMessage to on both my iPad and my Macbook, I have been successfully able to send a message to on my iPhone with no problem. Â
This is what gets me: I have signed in to my Mac and my iPad with several other Apple IDs and iMessage works FINE when there is another Apple ID involved. There is no problem when someone else signs in using their Apple ID. So far, the only thing that has been affected is iMessage. All other aspects of iCloud work great. FaceTime hasn't stopped working once, for example.Â
I have had two separate cases with Apple Support about this issue. I have brought all my machines to the apple store TWICE, and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong.Â

I've been suffering of slow speed on my macbook pro, and this happens when I unplug it from power and just let the battery works itself, then the % CPU usage increases dramatically to 330%Â and the laptop becomes very very slow, what should I do? Because if my macbook is off-power, it doesn't work properly, so what is the point to own a portable computer?
i just bought a C2D 1.83 2GB 80GB Mac Mini for a bargain and a new 24" Screen (1920 resolution). Working with "Numbers", I noticed that it runs really slow and behaves like it has not enough power. If you mark a couple of cells for instance, there is always a delay until the cells are marked. Ir is really annoying. Could it be because the Intel graphics is too slow to manage this high resolution??? Or is it a software issue? I installed iStat and the utilization of both cores normally doesn�t exceed 60-70%. But still 60-70% is a lot for working in numbers, right?? Should I sell the 24" screen and buy a 22" with lower resolution?? Or to try a reinstall of Mac OS?

I installed windows 7 on my mac mini and installed all drivers. after 2 days I decided to enable WOL but I faced a very slow file transfer over my network.
So my family and I purchased a mac mini to act as a music server for our whole house system. we then use a ipad, iphone to control it and it works sweet. what i am noticing though is a slower more sluggish mac mini. i am importing a ton of music in and i am saving all music files to a 2 TB g-safe. i have about 57 gb so far on my g safe. now when i start up the mac mini everthing seems fine. its after i start up itunes, things start to go sluggish. is there anything i can do to make things faster? or reconfigure in any way? Â
