May 18, 2012
I have set up a network (wired) printer and can see it (e.g., ink levels) if i go to system preferences and click on printers, but when I try to print all I get is a message that it won't connect to printer ... when I do setup it has no problem finding the printer and drivers
my macbook pro wont connect to the printer properly. sometimes it connects and it prints for a few days but most of the time it wont work. it says that it is connected but when i try to print it says printer offline. how do i connect it to the prtiner permanently?
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.4)
I have a iMAC running 10.5.5 and have connected a HP Photosmart C6280 Printer to it via the USB cable. Using Bonjour to connect a XP and a Vista box I get a error saying "ERROR You do not have sufficient access to your computer to connect to the selected printer". I am logged in as the administrator when I do it on the XP or Vista computer and have completed this function on other printer installation before so I know the permissions are there. The software for the printer is loaded on both windows computers.
I have MacBook (10.5.8) connected to a wireless router. My printer also connected there. When printing via USB - it is OK when printing via WiFi - I am getting the message in printer queue: printer is currently offline.
I have a MacBook Pro and am trying to connect to my network PC Printer. I have followed all available instructions and they printer appears shared. It appears on my Mac and I can send jobs to print and it says it is printing but nothing comes out.
I am trying to connect my wireless printer (Lexmark 7600) to my new macbook Air. The macbook finds my network but cannot find the printer. I have a Sony viao using the printer on the same network. I have followed all the Mac instructions but no luck.
Yesterday I could print to my Brother MFC-665CW via my wireless network. Today, without making any changes I cannot. I got the printer to print out the network configurations and they seem fine. My partner's PC can still print to it without problems.
But the mac (Powerbook G4 running OSX 10.4.11) can no longer see the printer. I tried re-adding the printer using the Print Utility. I got an error message -50. I tried reinstalling the driver and firmware.
My macbook connects to my wifi connection which is secured without any issues. However it wont let me connect to the internet. I keep getting a message on the airport icon that has an exclamation point on it that says "no internet connection available." Also, when I open up the network settings under the airport settings, it says self assigned ip address can not connect to internet. I have no idea what is going on because all of my other computers and xbox is connecting to the internet just fine. I already tried to restart the router and the modem and I also emptied the cache on the macbook. I tried to call Comcast but they were not very helpful.
It worked a month ago. But now, since the update, I can't get my MacBook and printer to hook up and play nice. They're both on the same network, and both say they're connected okay, but the Mac can't find the printer wirelessly. Works fine via USB. I've rebooted the router, rebooted the Mac, rebooted the printer, and even completely uninstalled and then reinstalled the HP printer software, along with that update from the Apple support site. Its like there's a wall blocking their communication. Weird.
Info: Mac OS X (10.7.3), iPod Touch 3rd gen 32gb, iPad 32gb
I am having trouble connecting my Macbook to a wireless printer. I tried to download a lexmark wireless setup assistant, however the setup said "continue to configure you printer to a wireless network," which I do not need. Not really sure where to go from there.
I am looking to buy the less expensive aluminum macbook, this will be my first mac so I have some questions:
1. I will be buying Microsoft Office for mac. Will this be exactly the same as the windows version, just for mac? 2. I will need to print things, and I already have a printer for my desktop PC. Can my macbook wirelessly connect to that (if there is a way with a wire, how would you do it) 3. If I want to play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 on it, will it work, or will I have to get some kind of mac version of the game?
I am unable to add aan HP Laserjet 1212nf printer connected to an Airport Base station. When I click add it takes me directly to the I.P. window. My MacBook pro running 10.6 does not see the printer, Bonjour does not search for it.
Does anyone know how to connect one of the new macs (snow leopard) to an xbox 360 for xbox live? I've managed to get it set up so that when you run test xbox live connection on the 360, it recognises that the xbox is connected to a network, but i can't get it to the next stage, onto the internet. When I log on the 360, i get a message saying "another device on the network is using your computers ip address........try connecting again later etc."
when i install printer in mac os x then a message apper that is "error reading segment header"1008:3,-38please give me solution of this message and how can i install printer in mac.
(Using OSX 10.5.7 on MacBook, Comcast cable modem):For the pst 24 hours I have not been able to connect to my Entourage email account, which denies every combination of letters and numbers, upper and lower case, of my formerly reliable password. System tries to log in, then gives me the error message "invalid username/password." I can't find a "forgot password" link or otherwise change the password. If I try Mac mail I get "system timed out." I can use webmail to get password but not Entourage or Mac Mail.
I cannot connect to my HP7150 on my windows network from my MBP. I can see all of the files that are on that computer, and other windows computers on the network can print just fine. Is there a tutorial somewhere that can help or can someone please tell me how to get it working? I've tried just about everything.
I have a MacPro and I installed Parallels on it to run Windows XP. Everything seems to work perfect but I was wondering if I can use my Windows printer (Canon MF3240) with Mac. I tried adding a printer through the System Preferences but when I go to the Windows Printers parts Mac doesn't have any drivers for this printer? Is there something I am doing wrong or is there any other way I can use the printer?
After hours on the phone with Canon support, they told me it was a MAC problem. I have a new Canon Pixma MX860 printer..
First , Downloaded drivers from the Canon website with their support phone person helping set it up. Printer worked wirelessly with the MAC for 2 days. Then gone. Printer no longer on printer list and won't print either by USB or wirelessly. Called Canon support.
He guided me thru reinstalling in different ways, repaired permissions, set up additional acct name, but still the printer in not listed on Printer Browser screen when wireless used (it is listed when USB connected, but cannot print)and not listed at all on Print & Fax screen. My MAC doesn't recognize the printer now. What happened?
Here today , gone tomorrow. And nothing was downloaded , updated, or anything added or done to the computer from one day to the next. It is a huge mystery.
Did a disk utility 1st aid days before...nothing needed repair...Did the 1st aid, due to slowness starting, downloading from cameras very slow, and message "start up disk is almost full", which it is NOT ...46GB available.
I changed the ip of my printer to 192.168.1.3 because I have a new router and that seems to be the range. I can ping that IP. When I choose that printer the printer setup says socket://192.168.1.105/?bidi which is my old IP. Not sure where I change that.
All of a sudden my macbook A1278 late 2008 doesn't connect to the WiFi network and displays the message Wi-Fi: No hardware installed. (it connects fine with a cable)
