my enter button won't work as I'm trying to login. I don't have a password so normally I'd just press the enter button and login right away. But yesterday, I tried pressing enter and nothing happens. I'm certain that the enter key isn't malfunctioning because it's a brand new computer.

Each time I open Safari on my MacBook Pro, a window appears asking me to enter my Login password. I do this, and everything works fine. But I do not understand why Safari asks me to enter my Login password. How do I turn this "feature" off?

Everytime I sign facebook, it is keep delay delay and can't enter the front page. I check up cookies, try facebook widget, and trying to solve and nothing happen yet. It is strange that mobile facebook works. I prefer laptop. I only have mac 10.3.9 and using safari and firefox.

She doesnt remember ever setting a "keychain" password, and tried to type in the password that she uses to log into her macbook, but apparently it's not the same password. What can I do to get rid of this if she doesn't know the password? Can I delete and then reinstall Safari? Do I need to reformat and install the entire OSX? Should I just use Firefox and forget about Safari?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden my "Enter" key next to my space bar (Macbook Pro Santa Rosa) stopped working in OS X. However it still works in boot camp. This is annoying to me because I primarily use that key instead of the main return key. OS X doesn't seem to recognize me pushing this key at all. Even if I go to keyboard shortcuts and try to change any random thing to the enter key, nothing happens when I press that enter.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust bought my MBA about a month ago. Recently it started doing something weird, mostly on the dock icons.
Sometimes when I go to click on an icon, it doesn't do anything, regardless of whether I am clicking, double clicking, or pushing the button below the trackpad. I end up having to move the cursor off of the icon and back on once or twice before it will let me click.
Have a white macbook the mouse button does not work neither does a usb mouse if i hook it up. Trackpad works right click works on usb.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOk. so my MBP was working 2 days ago and I went to Fry's to replace the HD with a 640GB model thinking larger storage - win. Replaced in and the orange ribbon cable got disconnected between the keyboard and the logic board. Went frantic and after a visit to the Apple Genius, they plugged it back and thought i was fine. Nope, and now the unit won't turn on. Plugged it in and got the green light and battery charges, but the MBP won't power on. I made sure the HD was plugged in securely, the orange ribbon connected fine, and the power button cable was secure. The drive worked fine as I did a superduper transfer of the old data to the new drive the night before the crisis and it worked fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter 1.5 years of use, my hard drive suddenly failed. This was later confirmed by Apple Genius Bar. So I purchase a new SSD from OWC which was instructed to be compatible with my laptop model (MBP 13" early 2011). It arrived today and I did the installation carefully and successfully. However, after putting the back panel back in place I was unable to power up my laptop.
It was as if the power button is not working. Then I opened up the back panel one more time to realise that every time I click the power button (turn on), the fan started running, this can only be stopped by pressing the power button and held it (turn off). I tried placing my old hard drive and it doesn't work as well. I tried reset the SMC by holding power-shift-option but same result.

When i hit the red x button on mac, it actually quits the application and doesn't restore any work i was doing, be it apps like pages and neither does it restore my last opened sessions on safari. However when i press command q, it should in normal cases close the application, however when i do that now it restores my previously active sessions.Â
In simple words both functions are working opposite to each other:Â
Red x- should merely 'minimise' the app and should restore previous active sessions but is not
Command w- should close the app but is instead restoring previous sessions

Is there a way to disable or hide the sleep button at the login screen? I am trying to send updates and/or commands from ARD.... But the end users are putting the computers to sleep by pressing the sleep button. This is causing the ARD updates/commands to fail. The computers and severs are all Lion OSX. If I can disable the sleep button at login then I can send the updates/commands. I normally only do the updates/commands when there is no user logged in.So I am not concerned with the case where the user is already logged in and puts the computer to sleep. I have already setup an MCX in WGM for the Energy Saver.

I've had my MBA 1.8 since the beginning. Just recently my my caps lock and mouse pad button doesn't work:
1. Caps lock
It technically does work, but I have to press the dang thing like 4 or 5 times until the green dot lights up on it
2. Mouse pad button
This also technically does work, but not properly. It is currently semi-broke. It's hard for me to explain in words. So I'll will try my best here. It's almost like a teeter-totter, I.E. the bar is never level. One side is always raised and the other is always lowered. If I click on the raised part of the mouse pad, it will make a clicking sound
I do not currently have apple care, but still have some time left to purchase it.
basically i havent had my macbook air that long (few month, maybe few more) but all of a sudden the click button on the trackpad has almost became slightly annoying, that when you press it slightly it clicks in as if youve clicked but nothing has happened, and then i press a slight bit more (normal pressure for a click) and it works normal. its just really annoying and it seems to be getting worse at one end, and ideally id like it to stop.

About a month ago, I accidentally spilled water all over my MacBook's keyboard, the mac was turned on, and I notices the keyboard wasn't working correctly; one time before that, I was taking a bath and I had my macbook in the bathroom for music, when I went out and tried to use it, the letter "p" on the keyboard wasn't working correctly, I just turned it off and a couple hours after it was working perfectly!
So I did the same thing this time, let it dry for some hours, and it didn't worked, then let it dry for several days and it still doesn't work! So I removed some keys and try to clean the keyboard with comp air and it didn't worked still. I want to know if there's a way i could log in to my macbook without having to type in the password, like using a remote keyboard or something, please, i love my macbook and i really need to use it for homework! (I study high school and need to record edit, etc music,videos and pics!)
I just received a 13inch MBP i7. I setup a user account during the installation. Everything worked good until I logged out. Now, when in the login screen after a reboot, the keyboard does not respond (can't enter my password).Â
I know it is not a hardware issue as I can type fine when logging into my Guest Account.Â

View 12 Replies View RelatedYesterday I backed up the library on my mac (running 10.4.11) and then discovered that the reply button does not work on the email, also the reply all and send button (forward button works, but then cant send). I read a thread on your site in 2005 and tried to follow the instructions, deleting the ps files relating to email and retyping in the server and password information but no good. In fact I was unclear exactly what the guy did to solve it. I should say that I can create a new account on the mac and the email works fine, so it might be some problem with the mail boxes but that is a guess.
