Tried to watch a stream from Odyssey of the Mind World Finals at [URL]. Both picture and audio kept breaking up so it was worthless. Is there a way to watch this on my MAC>

I have been having my mbp for a while already. My brother recently send me a link to a live stream video, but I wasn't able to go in to watch. However, he was able to watch it on his PC. I wondered if anyone have experience that? and what can I do?
I am planning to build a home theater PC by using the Mac Mini, I am mainly going to be using it on stream video and BT. Will I be restricted to browse any website, to download and open movie/song files, or to watch live stream video?
I'm presently using the Toslink connection for my DAC to room speakers. Can anyone confirm that a second USB connected DAC for headphones would also be live? In short, run two DAC's simultaneously?

What's agood way to test the ethernet port on my G5 Power Mac SP 1.8G? I have other Macs on the network.
My wife complains that the internet is slow & can't stream video.Th is computer is wired to a gigbit switch, then to 100 Mbit switch then to the router. I have a 24" iMac connected to same gigibit switch and have no problem with the internet speed. When I try to send a large file between my iMac & the G5, the transfer is slow. I checked in System Profiler and both computers detect the ethernet speed as 1000 Mbit (1gigabit or something like that).
Ideas on how to resolve? Gigbit ethernet cards that will work in the G5?I don't have Airport on the G5.
I just bought a Mac Mini, and I can't watch Youtube videos. Only a few actually play. I keep getting a "video is not available" message.

Also, I am planning on running the mini mac under windows 7 ultimate unless someone has a suggestion for equal to windows media player. I have a usb dvr (with cable card) that allows me to record channels while out on work or out and about during the weekend?

I thought I fixed it with a wireless-n router and it worked perfectly till now. I was loading videos on youtube in seconds with no buffering and fully loaded, and could stream even 1080hd videos on there and other sites no problem. Now the MBP is going slow again, like there's this lag when browsing, and I can't even watch youtube videos anymore unless their 240p as anything else buffers every couple of seconds.
It's not the internet, as like I've said before I have an pc in another room across the condo on the wireless network and its blazing fast browsing and watching/streaming videos. I've seen other post about this lately and really leading me to believe these $ MBP just suck on wireless networks, b/c I can be right next to my router and no changes... and my girlfriends cheap netbook can stream videos faster with no buffering then my expensive piece of aluminum.
I saw someone else say enter this for DNS and I had already done that, so is something screwed up here?:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
4.2.2.1
4.2.2.2
8.8.8.8
8.8.4.4
and Search Domains next to that says: domain hsd1.fl.comcast.net.
Im using time capsule and MBP trying to watch hd videos on youtube . Its running to slow and wont keep up with the videos. What can I do to make it faster. Or is it my macbook?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBefore moving to the Mac Mini, I used a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-1950 and my FIOS STB to watch tv on my HP Pavilion PC. That tuner is not Mac compatible. I'm not interested in anything fancy. My computer monitor is really large, making it useful to double as a tv, saving space in my sewing room for other toys. My wireless network is 5G and I have a Cisco E3000 router.

My mac mini keeps crashing. I recently updated the software, following apple prompts. Every time I open a movie in itunes, it goes for 5 mins then stops. The mac fan gets really loud and the whole computer crashes. I have to restart, then the same problem occurs!

I am a new convert to mac and want to set up a mac media server - does anyone know if I can stream movies stored on a time capsule through the mac mini to an xbox. I know how and can stream from my mac to xbox - so that part is not problem - however the new capsule has 2 tb and would be perfect for storing movies, etc -
But the question is can you stream from it - if not directly at least through a connection from the capsule to the mini?
I am planning on purchasing a mac mini solely for the purpose of playing music - it will be hooked up to a hi-fi amplifier and speakers. All of the music that will be on the computer will be in lossless format, which is very large. I will need a lot (320+ GB?) of storage.
I'm wondering if I can cut costs by buying an old 80 GB mini and augmenting its hard drive with a time capsule. I was planning on buying a time capsule anyway, so I could save something like $300. My questions are: would I be able to stream music from the time capsule to the mac mini? Would I be able to import music from itunes directly onto the time capsule? If I hook the mini up to the time capsule via USB, can it serve as a hard-drive, even if my internet is down? Is it going to be much more worth my time to buck up and buy a new 320 GB mini?
What I'm trying to do is set up the apple tvs to be connected to a router that is not connected to the internet, which we'll call Router B.The Mac Mini has all the movies and TV Shows on the iTunes account is hardlined into another router that is connected to the internet, which we'll call Router A.Is it possible to have the Mac Mini hardlined into Router A (to have an internet connection) and simultaneously connected wirelessly to Router B (so the AppleTVs can pull from the Mac Mini iTunes.)?Or vice versa, hardlined into Router B (non internet connection) and Wireless to Router A (internet connection).

Problem : When the windows xp of my parallel desktop is connected to the internet, my mini mac is not, even if I tried all the networking option available.

Red light for ISP and Server. All the other devices connect no problem. Have tried resetting and restarting everything. The odd thing is that ocassionally a page will load in Safari when going from choosing a network connection step to the selecting a wi-fi network step and when quiting Network Diagnostics.

I'm having trouble connecting to the internet with my medio 2011 mac mini.I'm connected to my Time Capsule which also serves as a router with an ethernet cable. The time capsule shows up in my network and I can access it without any problem, but I can't access the internet through it. (While all the other devices in my network can)When I reboot the time capsule the connecting to the internet works for a minute but disappears after that.I've tried everything I know, but I still can't make a stable connecting.9The wi-fi connecting works sometimes, but very slow.

Basically I have a g4 mac mini running 10.5 and I am trying to share from wireless to ethernet. I have that all set up in the internet sharing setup. I've tried many different tutorials online and I just keep running into an error saying it cant resolve the dns servers or whatever.
My router IP is 192.168.2.1
My macs IP is 192.168.2.10
I have the DNS numbers from my ISP
On the xbox I enter the ip of the xbox as 192.168.2.22
Subnet: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.2.1 (router)
Then my DNS numbers manually set, I've also tried using my macs and routers IP's as DNS and no dice. I just keep getting the same DNS error. i have a bunch of ports for xbox live opened to my xbox IP. It worked for me at one point when i was using tiger but now it wont on leopard.
I would like to connect to my work (Imac) from my Home (Mac mini 2009) through internet, they're both on a different network, whats the easiest way to do that?
