Can you guys direct me to a guide for watching and recording live tv over the Internet? I'd like to eliminate cable but I can't torrent everything, mainly Espn and sports games. do I need apple tv or something similar?
I know how to do it on Youtube and other sites but for a live video stream I know it's a different process, but I don't know what that process is. Could you do it with Quicktime Pro? (which I own)
I like to watch a lot of video live streaming, but on my mac book pro, i can't seem to watch any live streaming, is there something I need to download in order to watch live streaming.
Alabama plays Arkansas today and [URL] is going to stream it live at their website. The game is at 2:30 p.m. central standard time. I'm not going to be here to watch the game and I no longer have satellite. We dumped it.
Is there any way for me to record it from the live stream while I'm gone?
Any programs out there anyone know about or anything already on the mac that'll do it.
Im trying to find some service so I can watch live tv on my macbook pro. I know netflix is a great service, but I dont have a TV, and I live in an apartment with others and dont want to get the whole apartment cable.I found a thing called MacTV Pro, but it seems like a scam.
I am a recovering PC user :P and was wondering if the Mac had any free programs to record live streams as they are occurring. I have this radio program I listen to, and I can record it using Audacity, but the sound quality is a little diminished but more importantly, it picks up background sounds. Is there anyway to record the actual live stream without using a microphone so that the recorded version doesn't have all that background noise??
There is a Live video feed today marking Carroll Shelby's wake. I will be away from computer but would VERY MUCH like to view it at a later time. I have a MacBook, and a MacMini, both of which are running latest OS.
Info:Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.6.7), Second Mini, Also 13.3" MacBook
Does anyone know any apps out there that can stream live video and audio to the internet so that visitors to my website can see what my webcam is broadcasting?
I've been testing out many recording applications, trying to record Internet radio, but when I open up the recording files, I can't hear anything.
What am I doing wrong? I've tried these applications so far:
-- Amadeus -- Audacity -- Audio Hijack Pro -- Audiocorder -- Final Vinyl -- Recorderxhead
All these applications seem to be working, recording the sound from Internet radio, but I can't hear anything when I play the files. There must be a setting that I'm missing .
I often watch things on my MBP from the internet, I had been using greasemonkey and thought that it was the script causing this panic, but just today it happened and greasemonkey was not enabled. what does this kernal mean>?

I would like to know what the lowest processor speed of a PC that you can watch streaming videos thru the net that keeps up with audio and video at the same time.
I have downloaded the recent iTunes 10.6. I would like to watch rented movies on my MacBook Pro without having an internet connection (ie from the plane). Is this possible? I don't see any recent posts discussing this topic.
I thought I fixed it with a wireless-n router and it worked perfectly till now. I was loading videos on youtube in seconds with no buffering and fully loaded, and could stream even 1080hd videos on there and other sites no problem. Now the MBP is going slow again, like there's this lag when browsing, and I can't even watch youtube videos anymore unless their 240p as anything else buffers every couple of seconds.
It's not the internet, as like I've said before I have an pc in another room across the condo on the wireless network and its blazing fast browsing and watching/streaming videos. I've seen other post about this lately and really leading me to believe these $ MBP just suck on wireless networks, b/c I can be right next to my router and no changes... and my girlfriends cheap netbook can stream videos faster with no buffering then my expensive piece of aluminum.
I saw someone else say enter this for DNS and I had already done that, so is something screwed up here?: 208.67.222.222 208.67.220.220 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4 and Search Domains next to that says: domain hsd1.fl.comcast.net.
Im using time capsule and MBP trying to watch hd videos on youtube . Its running to slow and wont keep up with the videos. What can I do to make it faster. Or is it my macbook?
I can watch movies from Netflix on our Mac book. But when I plug the computer into my TVs hdmi port I get sound but no picture. I recently upgraded to Snow Leopard. Before the upgrade, whenever I plugged the mac into the hdmi port the computer's desktop would appear on the TV; now I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?
I am a NYU college student and have my macbook pro (running snow leopard os) connected to the internet via ethernet connection. My mac is sharing internet through it's ethernet connection and my ipod, blackberry, and friend's computers can connect via it's connection. However, the same does not go for my xbox 360. I keep getting a message saying "unable to connect to xbox live because my router can't assign an ip address" I have tried unplugging my internet for 30 seconds but it still doesn't work...neither does a direct ethernet connection.
I am in PA and I have a guy in Chicago who needs to be in on a presentation I'm giving from my personal Mac (I'm bringing it into work to do this because I built it in keynote and I wanted to show off that program in addition to some other Mac features.
I would be able to plug into the network here and have full T1 upstream speeds.
I purchased a WDTV Live HD with the intention to stream multimedia from my Mac.
On my Mac running Snow Leopard, I enabled File Sharing using SMB for my account. However, when I'm on WDTV, in additional to the shared folder I specified, it is able to see everything on my mac - drives, folders, and documents I didn't enable for sharing.
I have a WD TV Live Plus hub on my network that I connect my WD Passport into to run my media but I want to be able to stream my media from my macbook pro on my network. From the MBP, I can see the WD but can't connect to it. I use a Belkin router. I have spoken to WD and they went back and forth.
I run OS X 10.6.4 Snow Leopard and have shared my folders to read and write.
I have a macbook a little over a year old. It's my first mac and I love it. Yesterday though it started acting really weird. I first noticed that it was really, really hot and the fan was running. I turned it off and back on and here's what I found out:
Applications are being deleted from macbook. ITunes, IPhoto, iChat have clear question marks over icon. There are 8-10 blank spaces in the Applications folder where applications have been deleted. However, data is still there (ex. pictures still there, but no iPhoto).
Internet= Says I have internet but wont connect.
Cannot open " System Preferences" or "Internet Preferences".
If connected to home computer will connect to internet and allowed to open internet preferences but still no system preferences.
If shut down....takes a while to come back on and starts up 2-3 times.
Also "Preview" is gone. Now " ColorSync Utility" opens.
Is this my hard drive dying? I'm tech challenged, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
