I have an original Mac Mini (bought the day it came out). Is there a way that I can connect it to two HD tv's and show the same thing on both TV's without buying an expensive DVI or HDMI amp?

I have succeeded at this in the past but no luck now. My MyBook is attached to my Mac Mini (10.4.11) but it doesn't announce itself on the desktop.FYI, MyBook blue circle is lighted but not swirling.
View 1 Replies View RelatedNote: I've tried safe mode, and I don't have this problem there. But when I'm in safe mode, I can't get to the internet, so it's useless.I have an ibook g3. I don't know the exact kind, but it has dual usb ports and a translucent keyboard.
I know my g3 is old, but it works just fine. I can start up, log in, and my desktop will come up just fine. I can run any of the applications I have installed. I can get on the internet. I can do pretty much anything... for ten minutes.
After being on my g3 for a little while, it starts to go slower and slower and slower until I get the little rainbow pinwheel thing and it freezes up. Then I have to turn it off by force. BTW, when all of this starts, it doesn't really heat up or make any odd noises.
I see Dell and HP monitors with Display Port. Is this the same thing as what Apple uses only with the terminology slightly changed?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhat i did was open the ipod through mycomputer (windows XP) and cut the folder that contains all my music and pasted it into mydocuments so i had full amount of memory on my ipod to use it as a memory device. I gave it to my friend to put some videos into my ipod again through mycomputer. He didnt allow the ipod to sync on his itunes. Now i have it back i plugged it into my pc and my itunes couldnt pick it up and neither can mycomputer. I left it plugged in and restarted my pc when it booted up i opened itunes and it was sort of froze, after leaving it for a minute or two my ipod cam e up on itunes but it said it was corrupt. I ran the restore over night as it was taking along time and when i cam back this morning it was still doing it! Whats wrong with my ipod?! is there any other way to system reset it? do you think my mate should have synced it with his pc?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo our church just purchased a nice refurb iMac to use for media presentations during weekly worship services. We have a projector with a VGA cable, so I bought a mini display port to VGA adapter from apple so that we can connect our shiny new iMac to our big screen.
However, when we attempt to connect our VGA to our adapter, they don't fit together properly. It's like the screws on the VGA cable aren't long enough to screw into the adapter...thus, the cable won't stay connected to the adapter (it just falls out).
Someone suggested getting an S cable to replace the VGA cable, but Apple tells me there's no adapter to link the S cable to the iMac. I'm absolutely clueless...surely there is a way to connect my wonderful new iMac to the big screen.
Any ideas?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a cheap hdtv. when i connect my macbook to it it doesn't get a signal (via mini dvi to hdmi) until i click "detect displays" on my laptop, then "gather windows," then when i set the display to the proper resolution (720) the image appears on my tv without a problem.
I just got a mac mini, and since i don't have two monitors I cannot use this trick. I get no image on my tv.
There's speculation that it's L2 cache is bigger than the 3mb used on the slower mac mini core2duo's.

I then plugged the HDMI and composites cables into the receiver, but the it reads only the HDMI (which should include audio and video), or composite (yellow, red, white). If you have HDMI plugged it, it doesn't read from the composite, and vise-versa. So how exactly can I fix this? Why doesn't Apple have the HDMI contain audio and video (like most things, PS3, 360, consoles)? This is really odd and I cannot really use it as a home theatre system at the moment. I was hoping that it wasn't my receivers fault (2008 fancy Denon receiver, cost a few grand), but if it was to find some kind of converter that takes HDMI and stereo out, and outputs it as HDMI with audio/video.

In this software I can capture video from dv camera via firewire, but when I editing on timeline, then not show video on camera. In the disc utility window, show firewire camera, but in fcp preferences>play back setting>a/v out not show camera or firewire.

The "downloading steps" first instruct me to go to my APPLE ICON, Select SYSTEM PREFERENCES, and then select the QUICKTIME icon.... But I can't find the Quicktime Icon. It's not there. Yes, I already have the Quicktime 7 application. So WHY won't it show up in my System Preferences?!

I have a mid-2008 Black Macbook that is giving me issues. Any time i go into the system preferences, my last window up will be shown, then when i go back into the main menu and click on what i want (Desktop & Screensaver), i just get the rainbow orb of death. The system preferences then show not responding and i then have to force quit the system preferences. Can somebody please tell me what is going on and why it keeps doing this, and how to prevent it from happening again.

I have the 13" Macbook Pro mid 2012 model and for some reason the wifi status bar would show full strength however when I open up Chrome or Safari the webpages won't load at all. I'll get a message saying something like "can't connect to Internet." I first thought it was my modem but all the lights are lit up and it shows I do have an Internet connection. I get the same problem with my ipod touch 4g as well. Only on the ipod's side it will try and connect but fails to do so at all. So I have two devices that fail to connect despite an existing Internet connection.

I just bought and set up a Mac mini (mid 2011) and using Lion 10.7.3 Mail does not show its main window. all Preference tabs show but I can not see any mail messages. No mailboxes, nothing. Here's what happened. I bumped my Mini fairly hard, and the audio immediately cut out. I was watching some streaming video at the time, and the video kept playing. I tried to restart. Beach ball. I turned the comp off and back on. Folder with question mark. After messing around with that for a bit, I tried putting my 10.6 DVD in and starting from that. It didn't work, but that doesn't matter since that problem fixed itself after a few restarts. The problem is that the DVD is now stuck in the drive and the Mini doesn't recognize the drive any more. The drive momentarily spins up at startup, but that's it. If I have to take it apart to get the disc out, that's fine. I have the tools and have done it before when I upgraded the RAM. I just want to avoid that if possible.
