View 2 RepliesSo whenever I try and play something, the macbook air makes popping sounds as the audio plays. As the audio gets louder, the pop gets louder as well. I already tried nearly everything and updated my laptop.

I was wondering if anyonre knew a good way to change the system sound in OSX, or at least find the files in the finder and replace them with "fake" ones. I have replaced the alert sound, but I'm getting annnoyed with the sizzling sound the trash makes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started to notice a "popping" noise (about 1 Hz) when I got external speakers for my Mac Mini. It occurs when the Mac is sleeping and the external screen is on (but sleeping its own "sleep"). If I disconnect the analog audio out (from where the external speakers take their signal) the popping ends. If I connect headphones to the same jack, I hear no popping in them. If I hit the power button on the external screen and power it down, the popping ends. It will not return even though I power the screen on again. If I disconnect the USB cable that power the speakers from the Mac, the popping ends, but returns when I connect again.Â

I am using a Mac Mini with my home theatre set-up and when the Mac Mini is connected to my stereo using a 3.5mm Stereo Plug/2 RCA Plug Cable I get constant crackling and popping from the speakers. I've tried a new cable (didn't help) and tried plugging the Mac Mini in to a different outlet.
The cable connection at the back of the Mac Mini feels a bit loose but it seems like that's the way it's supposed to be rather than any sort of hardware issue.
I can not deselect mute all computer sounds on my Imac with Lion I went into preference and for output the only thing I can select is headphones is there away to get the built in speakers back on this drop down list?

I have both Safari and Firefox browsers. I prefer Firefox, but for downloading stuff I use Safari, but my question is, Why does the spinning beach ball of death keeps on popping up throughout the whole time I use Safari? Does this happen to all of you?

I have a Quad Core Mac Pro which is running Snow Leopard 10.6.4. I have 8 gigs of memory. I am using Safari 5 and the latest version of Flash Player.
This issue doesn't happen all the time but once it occurs it will keep happening until I quit Safari and then reopen it. After that it will begin happening again after a certain period of time.
It seems to occur when I have Safari open for extended periods of time and the memory pageouts increase. When I play music through the Rhapsody player, youtube or hulu and visit various sites at the same time, there's a popping or stuttering in the audio for a second or two.
The popping noise will occur when browsing a site while playing audio in Safari either through Youtube, Hulu or Rhapsody. The noise will occur when I click on a link to go to a website.
the Popping will occur when I quit Safari as well, it's sort of like a sound that shouldn't be there. It sounds almost like static electricity when you touch it.
The only thing that stops the popping is by Quitting Safari and reopening it. After that I won't hear the noise while browsing sites for a period of time. It will come back eventually though.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Flash player, repaired permissions in disk utility, rebuilt my drive with Disk Warrior, reinstalled Safari, and installed the 10.6.4 Combo update but the issue remains.
Every time I go online to check lottery numbers the facebook login page takes over. I have never used facebook but my daughter has used this computer to do her facebook stuff.Â
Even when I close Safari and run ccleaner to get rid of everypart of facebook that I can. The sme thing will happen right after I go back to that web site.Â
I haven't noticed facebook jumping in front of any other site, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't. Can my daughter change anything at facebook to stop this? Can I tell my mac to block facebook?

I keep having trouble with Safari, the web pages randomly and spontaneously pop back to prior or previously viewed pages. This gets pretty frustrating, especially if doing online shopping or banking.Â

I noticed that my system stopped making system (i.e. Mac OS X) sounds for some reason. Sounds from applications are fine. I checked and unchecked the "play user interface sound effects" check box in the preference panes to no effect.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI punch my iTunes music through an Airport Express to a remote set of speakers in the kitchen, which works wonderfully, but I'd like to know if there's a way to run the system sounds through the AE as well. In particular, I listen to Pandora (through a browser) on my laptop, but would love to listen in the kitchen. Any way to do this? System 10.4 I believe...
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was downloading a couple of software upgrades onto my Mini -- the latest version of Safari and a security app of some sort -- when I suddenly lost power. On getting the electricity flowing again, I retstarted the Mini, but it's hung on the opening gray Apple display -- the spinny thing just keeps on spinning, and I get the feeling it's not going to stop. Did the power outage in mid-upgrade screw my Mini beyond all un-screwing? Should I try putting it in Target mode and running Disk Utility on it from my iBook? What should I do?

If I unpug it after the Mini has been powered on and plug it back in, it starts to work. How do I fix this? Note that I am also using a Logitech USB mouse and it works properly.

I've got a Late 2009 Mac Mini running Snow Leopard Server. Occasionally, it takes me awhile to restart after updates, so this could be due to the most recent update or possibly the combination of the last two...
I went into my office, saw that there was a Safari update and decided to let it do its thing. When I came back 30 minutes later, my machine was off. I turned my machine back on, got the gray Apple screen with the spinning cog and the progress indicator for the update. A little over 10% through, the progress indicator reset. No biggie, I figured. Second time it got to the same point, it just shut down. Nada. When I restart, it does the same thing.

All seamed ok but it said on the start up screen Power Pc G5. And when I went to put in my password it went and done the side too side wobble no I know my password and it never changes and I tried caps lock on and off but no go I never use caps lock anyway but I thought perhaps that was the problem. So I cannot get in to the computer now. Is there a way to reset the password.
