View 1 RepliesHow do I increase the side of the text in my mail viewer?
View 1 RepliesI had problems with my Apple Mail crashing and the only fix we could try after spending quite a long time on searching for the proble was to delete all my accounts and re-introduce them one at a time. But I didn't realise that would delete all my preferences and signatures
So I am having to start from fresh. I can get my text for message subject lines and the mailboxes to the size I want BUT if i have digests from groups the text is still tiny. I know I can enlarge using cmd+ but I have to do that for each message. But I can;t find the preferences

I was in Safari (or maybe on the desktop because Safari wasn't on top, I can't remember) and I was trying to do a capital P. Than a text zone (like a white line from side to side show above my dock. I was able to close it with the red button. But I want to know what this text bar was all about and what is the other key a touch (Caps+?)

If I try to view in full screen mode, it will open and then shrink to the top quarter of the page. The lower 3/4 page will be black and it will not allow me to do anything.

I've set up some alarms that are scheduled to show a message, but the messages only show two lines of what I've written. I want to see everything. How can I do this, is it even possible?
If I can't do this in iCal, does anyone know of an app that will do the job? Something where I can schedule messages to pop-up on a reoccurring bases.
Just bought a new 27" screen iMac. The menu bar and drop down menu text is much to small for me to see without leaning close to the screen. how to customize the text to a larger size. This is an issue for any program I open.

I'm having the same problem with Mail but with the latest Lion version (OS X v.10.7.3).Can't quit Mail, can't read messages, can't shut down.I just moved to an Apple computer with the hope to live in the "promise land" of no more crashes.Never happened to me on a PC a problem like that.

I have OS X 10.7.4 on a MacBook Air and 80% of the time, I have to force-quit Mail. It's a real pain since it prevents shut downs so I have to remember to force-quit it each time.

Every few days when I try to open Mail app message viewer window from the minimized state, by clicking on the App icon in the Dock, it will not open -- even though Mail app is running. When this starts happening there is no way to make the message viewer appear, even though Mail app has not crashed does appear to be running. Also, at this time, any minimized emails will not open from the Dock either. If I restart Mail app this fixes it, but the problem comes back.
minimized email messages often seem to get lost by the Dock after this happens as well, so I lose track of messages I had minimized for future reference (they no longer appear in the Dock and I have to find them and open them and minimize them again... since I sometimes minimize several messages in the Dock to respond to or have for easy reference this is annoying).

The Mail viewer window opens briefly on Mail startup but disappears immediately.
It will open from a minimised window (while the program is open) or by opening a new viewer window only.
This has started happening since Mavericks was installed - before this, the viewer window always appeared automatically when I clicked on Mail or command-tabbed to Mail.

The left column of Apple Mail viewer window has a function at the bottom allows you to see pop up the "Mail Activity" but very little activity shows in there. Nothing like the separate Activity function which you can open from under the drop down "Window".
Is the Mail Activity in the viewer window not working properly or is it supposed to show only very limited Mail Activity?
Would be convenient to not have to use the separate window for viewing Activity.

Mail [snow leop] stops displaying messages in viewer window until I open a new viewer window. That is the message text in the right window section does not show. I have looked for an item in Preferences and find nothing relating to this. This is an issue that occurs more often now. What need I do?

OSX's Mail.app used to display the actual colored flag in the (classic layout) viewer's flag column; visible and compact. I've noticed recently (since the iOSemite update?) that it displays the words (Red/Orange/ etc.) instead. With a narrow column that used to accommodate the flags, this now shows "R…/O…/ etc. instead. Since my Mail window is only a 1/2 screen wide, there is simply no room for an inch-wide column.
Is there a way to make Mail show the actual flags in that column, rather than the verbose names of the flags?
If not, I can of course rename the flags into a single-character name, so it fits

Is there a way to increase the size of the displayed mail, as you are creating it? I have mine set to 12 point text, but it is still difficult to read. The e-mail when received is fine, it's the creating that's "tiny"?

In my old laptop (Mac OS 10.6.8) I could see the preview panel on top of the Mail. Now I can not find a way to move it from the left hand side. Now on Mac OS 10.9 I have Mail 7.3 and there does not seem to have an option on where to put it.

We have two Mac Laptops, 1 is the little white Macbook, the other MBP. We have DSL coming in and then thru a 2wire modem then thru the Airport. The 2 wire modem is connected to a PC. All of this sits about 40 feet from the bar where we use the laptops and is a straight shot.
My problem is that the the newer MBP is stuck in the mud when it comes to connecting, and then holding any type of signal strength with the wireless signal. The older little white MB works great, every bar on the wireless icon is black, on the other (as I type this they are both on and side by side..) only has one.
When pressing Alt/Option and clicking on the wireless icon the good computer shows a transmit rate of somewhere between 20 and 26 when I have checked it several times this morning, the bad one has never been above one.It seems for the price I paid for the Airport Ex. BOTH of these units should be getting full strength signals.Ever had this problem? No of any possible solutions? The fact that the slow one is my wife's machine doesn't make life any easierI figure before I make an Apple reservation I could do a little research myself.
I am attempting to edit two photos. My goal is to take the two photos and place the objects side by side so that both my daughters appear in the same photo.

I need some sort of free program to take two pictures and put them side by side. It's a one time deal so I don't want to pay for it, I just have images of artwork and their respective placards that I'd like to be able to put side by side as one image so it's easier to follow. I know it sounds basic and probably dumb but I literally have zero experience with photo applications.

I'm also considering upgrading to Snow Leopard but don't really see the point. That inertia scroll thing hers does is pretty cool... other than that everything is pretty much the same to the naked eye after a few hours of use.

I like my MacBook Air, but the font size when drafting email is a bit too small. For viewing regular email, I know I can use the Command and "=" to increase the size, but that does not work on the drafting window. how to increase the font size I view when drafting. (Just to be clear, this is just for my viewing -- I am not interested in changing the font in the email that is sent (I know how to do that).)

View 7 Replies View RelatedThis seems an odd problem so I may be missing something -- but the connectors on my two Apple Cinema Displays will not plug into the card side by side. The plastic casing is just a tad too bulky, so you can't quite get the second connector in if the first plug is filled. It's the card that originally came with the computer, a Mac Pro 1,1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Toast 6 Titanium from a LaCie drive I bought some time ago, and just got an EyeTV with Toast 8 basic. Is there anything in T8 that I might need, TT 6 seems to work fine. I keep reading that nothing much has changed after version as far as typical burning needs. I know that support for newer formats has been added with the later versions so I am asking is T8 even necessary having TT6?
