I just got Vista Ultimate x64 running under Boot Camp (under 10.5.2) and want to improve the graphics. FYI - sees my 16 GB RAM, network, and sound card, but not any of the drives on my MacPro (any thoughts on that?) Can I install the NVidia Windows Vista 64x bit drivers while running Vista under Boot Camp?

I was wondering whether to update the nvidia drivers from time to time, is this done through and included in the normal 'software update' from the top-left apple menu bar or do I have to go to the nvidia site and manually update each time?

Just got an update for my Laserjet P2015.
So HP seems to be hard at work on this. Keep your eyes peeled for new drivers via Software Update.

downloaded from Nvidia.com which give you error when you try to install it. So here I compiled a short guide in how to update your drivers. 1. Driver Nvidia 259.47 ( found better performance with this one) for Windows Vista/7 64 BIT ONLy!!! Same driver but for windows Vista/ 7 32 BIt Download here2. After you have downloaded drivers you will noticed that they are packed with 7Zip archive (self extracting), unpack it (just remember the location).

I have a macbook pro
Model Identifier:MacBookPro5,5
Processor Name:Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed:2.53 GHz
Memory: 4 GB
With
NVIDIA GeForce 9400M:
Chipset Model:NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
Type:GPU
Bus:PCI
VRAM (Total):256 MB
Vendor:NVIDIA (0x10de)
Device ID:0x0863

It is incredible slow - freezes constantly unless on very low graphics in games like World of Warcraft so i'm assuming i need to upload graphics. So i went to the Nvidia website, and tried to update driver by following steps correctly, selecting the correct options, etc and it said it couldn't update for my system..
How do i update my software so i can play without freezing?

I bought a Mac Pro last September, and I've had a run around of temperamental mighty mouse. Or so I thought. The one it came with I plugged in and it clicked like a mad demon, button 4 was basically useless as the slightest touch would trigger it. I had a Mighty Mouse that I owned before that I switched it out for, and the problem seemed to go away.
But it came back, and much worse this time. I unplugged the mouse to use it on my Macbook, and when I plugged it back into the MP the clicking went berserk again. This time I took it to the Apple Store to get it replaced. The genius plugged it into his Macbook at the desk, and it worked fine; no sporadic clicking at all. I assured him it did it like crazy and asked for a new mouse, which he replaced. He then threw out that it's probably not the physical mouse that's the problem, but rather the software in my Mac Pro. That kind of baffled me, but I had my new mouse and I was happy......................

Back in my PC days, I used to have to manually update my video card drivers ALOT due to the many games I played on it. I know that Apple has the update software feature, but I never seem to see any video card drivers for the 9400/9600 chip. Can I update this manually from the Nvidia site? Or trust that Apple will update drivers when they feel the need. BTW, I'm not having video issues on the OS X, but just wondering.

Installed Lion, my Epson scanner stopped working.
I see the scanner model listed here: [URL] so the driver is apparently available. However, turning the scanner on and selecting Software Update produces no results - no updates found.
How/where can I access the driver for my scanner that is listed on the above link?

I installed Bootcamp on my MBP using the Leopard DVD which came out last Fall. Since 10.5.2 has been out, I suppose that there have been updates on the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows. Anybody knows how to get and install the latest drivers?

I think my video card died about a month ago and I've been trying out some cards with no success. Here is a previous thread I made about it:
[URL]
I just got the second card I'm trying today: ATI X800 XT AGP, and my computer will just sit at the grey apple screen with no wheel spinning. I'm assuming this is a driver issue (or something much worse)! Since my computer will not boot, I have no idea how to update the drivers for this card.

now that everythings is working again, I'm planning on upgrading my HD and buying Snow Leopard as well as Windows 7, but I'm holding off untill the release of the offical bootcamp drivers.Untill then I wonder if I can upgrade my current bootcamp drivers. I'm still running Tiger OS and the beta bootcamp on wich I installed XP, SP3. I can imagine that my drivers are hopelessly outdated, with the exception of Nvidia drivers. My Question: Can I just upgrade my currect XP drivers to bootcamp 3.0? If so, what is the correct procedure for it? I can't find any conclusive information on that through forums and google.

I am having image issues when I play any of the crysis games (the only games I have). Random, irregular, odd shapes and lines start popping up on my screen. Everyone keeps telling that it is because i need to update my nvidia driver, but they never work and cant install. the driver i have now is the one from bootcamp. i just got my mbp a month ago and i hope it isnt a hardware issue. there are no screen problems when i am doing anything else. where can i find updated drivers that will work on my mbp in windows xp?

I'm not convinced that the drivers that Apple provides, even if they come from the hardware manufacturers, are as good as they could be. The reason why I say this is that, prior to installing Snow Leopard and Boot Camp 3.0, I had been playing Dawn of War 2 on an ageing MacBook Pro with an ATI X1600 chipset under Windows 7. What I found odd was that after I had reinstalled Windows 7 and used the Snow Leopard DVD to install the Boot Camp 3.0 drivers was that Dawn Of War started to complain that my display drivers were incompatible with the game. Figuring that I hadn't had this problem before I uninstalled the display drivers Apple provided (from ATI) via the Device Manager, restarted Windows and let Windows Update find drivers instead (again, from ATI). This seems to have sorted out the problem.
If you are having problems with drivers then perhaps letting Windows Update try to find them may be the answer as this seems to have worked in my case.

I recently installed the 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate operating system onto my MacBook Pro 13 inch. I have the most basic Macbook Pro 13 inch with nothing fancy added. Whenever I load up the Windows 7 OS on my Macbook, it never utilizes or even realizes that I have the NVIDIA graphics card in my laptop. It instead believes I have some integrated graphics card that cannot even run the most basic of PC games. I know my laptop can run these games because on OSX it runs multiple games with higher requirements than these games I am trying to run on Windows.
Basic question: How do I get bootcamp or whatever else to make Windows 7 realize I have a NVIDIA card and drivers. Sorry if I am coming off as stupid or confusing.

So i am trying to change my apple boot camp drivers to nvidia's, but i think i must have downloaded the wrong ones, or done something wrong. I tried to install Geforce/Ion driver release 192.62, (from nvidia's site, i selected gefore 8 series) and when i ran the setup it said: 'nvidia setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your hardware' . My questions are:
Which drivers should i download? a link would be great.
Are there any pre-requisites i must do, such as install version 170 first?
I am using an iMac 24" with 4gb ram, 500gb 5400 rpm HDD, and 8800 GS 512mb.
The reason I am trying this, is because when i play some online games, i often get bad lag spikes, but that chat is still running. Someone recommended me to 'update my drivers'.

I have a Macbook plastic, 2.4 GHz intel core 2 Duo with 2 GB of ram.My Mac is currently running on OS X, i used to have a 40 gig partition Windows XP, a couple of friends of mine where talking about how much they liked Windows 7 and finally i had had enough blue screens to say, sure ill switch, why not?... assuming it would not take longer then lets say a day at most, i set off on my quest.
FWI, im running an older model Macbook that was bought refurbished (not sure if that has anything to do with my problem). anyway i removed my previous partition, then using Boot Camp Assistant i repartitioned a 40 gig section for Windows 7. Then ran the installer. I have a copy of Windows 7 ultimate 86x. The Windows boot screen turned up, i had to reformat the partition so that i could install, no problems there. after all said and done the installation worked perfectly, up to a point... First problem that appeared was the lack of sound. i fixed that by downloading Realtek's High Def sound drivers.
Then it was the rest of the drivers for the macbook. heres where i run into my problem, i have the Mac OSX install discs 1 and 2. inserting the first disc the option of the auto run of the setup popped up i clicked run. and instead of the same old install drivers option all i have is the option to install the software that lets macbook airs share cd/dvd drives... needless to say i got frustrated and to put it lightly pissed off...
unsure of wtf was going on i looked it up online and really couldnt find anyone with the same problem, i found a web page saying that i should have the windows auto update itself and that should fix the problem. it did not. i dont know what the hell is going on. and im about this close to reinstalling windows xp and telling windows 7 to go **** itself...

couldn't find an answer so far: Is it possible to run 2x 8800GT (Apple or flashed PC) in one Mac Pro 2008? I know, SLI doesn't work but I am curious if I can run 2 monitors (e.g. for FSX in Bootcamp). Did anyone try this or is this outside the Power-limits of the PCI bus?

I bought my machine about 3 weeks ago (8 core 2.8ghz), didn't think I'd need the graphics as I'm a console gamer so I stuck with the ATI 2600XT.
Over the past week I've really been getting into gaming on my mac pro (the 12gb of Ram helps!)
Can I buy an off the shelf 8800GT and upgrade the card myself or do I need a special apple voodoo version?
also, if I can buy one, anyone know which? I have no idea and so far online I've seen -
Xpertvision 8800GT 512mb
Gigabyte NVidia 8800GT 512MB
RETAIL XFX NVIDIA 8800 GT 512mb
and about 10 others, all claiming to be the 8800GT but the prices vary

On my 2008 MacPro, I have two 8800GT's working fine in all regards to normal Desktop Usage. But in World of Warcraft, when I move the WoW window onto either screen on card 2, the frame rate drops to less than 10fps. If I move it back to either screen on card one, its fast again. This may be a localized issue with WoW.
