I've noticed that my music control buttons on my laptop are not working after I start up chrome. when i boot i can use them fine with itunes but when i open chrome they become unresponsive.I've tried resetting the PRAM and SMC to mo avail.

The play/pause and skip/rewind buttons on my keyboard are not working with the latest version of iTunes (11.3.1). I've read about fixes related to the Google Chrome extension, but I don't have that extension. I noticed that the buttons work with Spotify but not with iTunes. When I test the buttons on iTunes, I make sure that Spotify is completely closed. The play/pause function is especially important to me, as I use it to transcribe interviews quickly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI Seem to have a problem recently on my 27" iMac with the razer Naga Gaming Mouse. I installed all drivers from RazerZone. Each time I start my iMac my razer naga doesn't track, all the mouse buttons work but it just doesn't track, its really weird because I have been using this mouse for a month now and never got this problem until I think I started to put my IMac to sleep.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt appears that the function keys to control iTunes/Quicktime (FF, Play/Pause, and RW) are not working. At one point they did but now it doesn't. All the other function keys are functioning just fine and dandy. I have the "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" unchecked in the preferences. I looked around and there doesn't seem to be any setting that would explain the sudden malfunctioning of the keys. Is there something I may have missed?

I recently noticed the 'play/pause' key on my keyboard no longer plays or pauses media while in iTunes. The 'fast forward and backward' buttons do not work as well. The buttons also do not work with other media programs (such as VLC) where they previously had. I cannot think of anything I have recently done to turn these keys off.

I love using the play/pause button on my macbook when used with itunes, it's handy as ****. But the problem is, that it affects VLC as well, and it plays a video and the audio interrupts whatever music I'm listening to (even when no video is opened but vlc is running, it'll open my last played video and play that alongside the music). I never had this problem with the old version of vlc, but ever since updating, vlc has now been wired to work with the friggen play/pause button.
I tried looking in VLC preferences to see if it could be disabled but couldn't find anything regarding the mac play/pause keyboard button. Any ideas on how I can stop vlc from being affected by this key? And I'm not keen on the idea of going back to the older version unless it's my only option.
I am trying to edit a number of movie files and in the past I was able to quickly scroll through different files in Get Info with the Next and Previous buttons..Those buttons and their keyboard shortcuts have recently disappeared?

I got my new 13" MBP two weeks ago and I've been using the F8 button solely for playing and pausing songs in iTunes. I think it's great to have this because I can easily stop my music when I want to watch a youtube video and the audio is coming from somewhere else and not iTunes for example The problem is, whenever I press the F8 button now, it stops the song in iTunes but it starts playing a video in VLC...I checked both system preferences and VLC preferences but couldn't find anywhere to control what the F8 button controls.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI can't click in the next/previous buttons fast. I mean, if I click once (e.g. to skip a song) I can't click again until about 1 sec later. If I try to click again before 1 sec after the first click, it doesn't do anything at all, as if there's not even a button there. And no matter for how long I keep making several fast clicks, it just won't skip the song. I have to stop clicking, wait 1 sec, and THEN click. This happens either using the trackpad or a mouse. Quite annoying.
There's no problem though if I skip songs fast using the Next/Previous key in the keyboard.
I'm using a Macbook Air 2013, iTunes 11.2.2 (3).
When I do to full screen to watch a movie, the thing that you it to stop, play, pause, etc is there. Is there a way to make it disappear like other players?

the new alu wireless keyboards feature a rwd, play/pause and fwd button on the keys F7, F8 and F9.
Since I have the previous version, the white fullsize bt-keyboard, I was wondering if it is possible to somehow map these features so that they work with my keyboard?
i don't think is possible as i've searched around the net for this, but most of things i've found are pretty old so maybe theres a fix now?
basically, it really annoys me when i use spotify the play/pause controls on my keyboard will work to pause spotify, but will straight away start to play itunes, and vice versa. is there a way to disable this.
Im using Snow leopard and everytime i press the play/pause button Itunes is launched... this is cumbersome because i use Ecoute to listen to my music so i basic dont have a shortcut to pause my music.

When you click the pause/play button on the Apple Remote, iTunes opens and begins playing. The same thing happens when you hit the pause/play button on the media bar. I thought I was becoming dyslexic because iTunes kept playing randomly. It was only until today when I discovered this bug while playing a file in VLC. Apparently it happens with pretty much any app.
View 20 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to iTunes 8.1 when it showed up on Software Update. Since then, I've noticed that when I hit the Play button to play anything in my Library, there is a long pause (about 6-7 seconds) before the audio file starts playing. Have any of you had this happen to you?
This is on 10.4.11 on my iMac G5. My drive is getting short on space (and I'm aware of issues do to short drive space ), but it didn't do this before the upgrade to 8.1. Let me know your thoughts...

I spilled some red bull on my brand new macbook, it wasn't much, I let it dry and I cleaned the outside. Everything works fine, the keyboard works too, every single key works. But some of them are sticky! And it is very uncomfortable to write on! Obviously with these keyboard designs I can't take the keyboard off and clean under it, and I don't want to take it to the Apple store because it's not really damaged and they won't cover spills. Is there a way to clean under the keys to clean out the stickyness?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI spilled coffee patron (which is a syrup-like coffee flavored tequila) on some keys on my macbook 13" last night. I immediately flipped it upside down and wiped it dry. I then wet a cloth to try to save it from stickiness. It was fine but today the space bar, the "b", "command", "option", & "control" keys are very sticky. Also my caps lock, tab and the squiggly dash (that's use to abbreviate the word approximately above the tab key) are not sticky but don't work at all! My caps lock wont even light up! I would like to remove the keys to wipe under it before taking it to apple care. (which will most likely turn me down.)

I have checked if secondary click was on and it was. My bottom right click works perfectly fine.
The trackpad makes the sound it is clicking but nothing happens on the screen. If i press really really hard on the bottom left corner it will register I have clicked, but it's not very practically.

Through the song as it plays, when it gets to timestamp 1:05, it stops playing and plays track 11. After timestamp 1:05 doesnt finish playing the rest of the song.

I have a late 2011/early2012 MBP running OSX 10.7.3 (build 11D50d) and All of a sudden my trackpad is playing up. I can move the cursor from all places of the trackpad apart from the bottom corners - but I can only click in the center of the pad. However I can touch click in most places (apart from bottom corners). Does anybody know how to fix this?
I've only had my MacBook Pro for 4 weeks now, I've not dropped it, knocked it or spilt anything on it, so this is pretty disappointing to say the least. I've seen a bunch of videos on youtube where people are taking their MBP apart and tightening a screw to fix the problem. My warranty is still valid and I have AppleCare so I don't want to be voiding either of those by taking it a apart and messing about inside.

Just got my first mac today "09 imac 24". Its fricking sweet. But one thing I am used to with Windows was to use the Home/End keyboard buttons to get to the beginning/end of a line. They don't seem to do anything on the mac.
