It's a Dell 29" monitor (I don't have the product name). I connected the two monitors using a mini-displayport-to-DVI connector. I would have chosen for HDMI, but the Dell monitor lacked that unfortunately. I've installed Windows 7 on a BootCamp partition, and I happened to be in Windows when I did this. When I turned it on, it was a duplicate display of my iMac screen. Same resolution. I went to control panel and screen resolution, and chose for 'extend these displays', but suddenly the resolution on the Dell went from 2560 x 1440 (like the iMac) to a max of 1280 x 800

I do a lot of editing in Final Cut Pro and I was wondering what is the best way to connect two monitors to my Macbook pro (Intel early 2008 non-unibody). How could I make each monitor it's individual monitor and not just stretch it to two. Ultimately, I would like to work with three monitors, two externals and the LCD monitor thats on the MCP.

Currently using a Windows 7 powered desktop machine with 2 Videocards to run this setup. My question is, can I connect the 30" and at least one of the 20" monitors to a Macbook pro? The 20" monitors support VGA and DVI, the 30" also does DisplayPort.Â

Only the number keys on my keyboard are malfunctioning besides the number 0. For example when I press 1 it appears as q1. When I press 2 it appears as w2. Â
I am not sure if I accidentally pressed something on my keyboard that has changed the functioning of my number keys. I've tried fidgeting with the keyboard settings in System Preferences and holding down the f6 key but nothing has worked.Â

Does the logic board serial number match the computer serial number?
My reason for asking is that 4 months ago my sisters G5 17" logic board supposedly got replaced with a new or refurbished logic board but it seems by the workmanship of the board something fishy is going on.
I guess this is one of the early MacBook Pros, model "MacBook Pro 1,1"Â It's two RAM slots originally could handle 1GB DDR2. Is that still the maximum, or are there 2GB chips for those slots available today?Â

I have a Macbook Pro Mid-2009 2.26GHz (10.7.4), and have 4GB RAM (2x2 cards), and at the time I changed it, not long after getting it, I am 99% sure it was only possible to get 4GB, but now Crucial is saying it is possible to get 8GB. I would have just got the max RAM possible, so was wondering if something has changed, (an update or something?) that has made it able to put more RAM in. Or, am I just mistaken completely and it was always 8 and I just missed it!Â

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm using Transmission, and it seems that the speeds that I'm getting are up to 150K DL and 80K UL. From what I've heard around other speed problem posts in various forums, these are pretty decent speeds. Now, pardon if I'm a little naive on this topic, but according to shaw, my max speeds should be around 7.5MG and 512K.
Now downloading I can understand. Not everyone has a super fast connection, and my max download speed is limited by whoever's max upload speed, so 150K sounds alright. I also understand that you never actually reach your max speeds even on the third monday of a March (March is the only month with no stat holidays in Canada) at 4:30 in the morning. But 80K (usually around 30K or 40K) upload speed? Most bargain bin internet connections have at the least a 256K download speed, so my upload speeds should be at least averaging around 100K. What's especially frustrating, is when I look at my completes, and see that there are other peers downloading, yet that torrent only sporadically uploads at all.
Now I've checked, and I do have the latest version (1.5) of Transmission, and yes, my port is open. Is there some way to juice some extra speed out of this, or is this just the way torrents work?
I read a few posts that seem to indicate that non-mac monitor cannot display higher them 1680x1200 when connected to a Mac computer. A friend of mine is planing on getting a new Mac pro with a 30" Samsung monitor (2560 x 1600). Will he be able to run the monitor a max resolution?
